NEW DELHI (TIP): Austrian monster dad Josef Fritzl has an Indian equivalent. A man was arrested for raping his daughters for a decade in Bharatpur’s Bayana area. The police have also arrested the mother, who is said to be complicit in the act. Dalip Singh, the additional chief judicial magistrate of Bayana, sent them to judicial custody for 14 days. The accused, a retired clerk of the state agricultural marketing board, had been sexually assaulting his five daughters for the past 10 years.

The incident came to light when his fourth daughter, along with her two sisters, gathered courage to approach the police. Acting on the complaint, the police nabbed the couple. During preliminary investigation, the man confessed to having had a physical relationship with two of his daughters. He first laid hands on his eldest daughter when she was in Class VI. Her younger sisters too fell victim as the mother gave her tacit approval, the police said.

When the daughters narrated their horrifying experience the mother refused to listen saying it was a tradition. The father was also accused of beating up the eldest daughter. It has also been alleged that she got pregnant and had to abort the child when she was in Class VIII. She had to undergo the same trauma about a fortnight before her marriage. Even the complainant allegedly got pregnant once.
