Hema Malini launches Literature & Film Club

“Brajdham” to raise funds for development of her constituency -Mathura

Legendary film artist and Member of Parliament of India Hema Malini and Consul General Dnyaneshwar M Mulay launched, July 16, the “Club FilLit”, a club for Films, Literature & Culture with Indian connection, and “Brajdham”, a foundation for welfare of Hema Malini’s constituency of Mathura Hema Malini was delighted to see the audience support to the cause of “Brajdham”, a new foundation launched to help the people of Mathura through better education, sanitation, transportation and cleaning of Yamuna.

The announcement of launch of “Brajdham” got enthusiastic support from TV Asia represented through its CEO H R Shah; Thomas Oomen of Federation of Malayali Associations of America; Ravi Batra, renowned lawyer of New York; Georgy Bhalla, COO of Dance Rhythm who is producer of dazzling show depicting the Dream Girl Hema Malini as Durga. She thanked and assured the audience that she would visit USA again. Consul General Mulay in his welcome speech described Hema Malini as a ” National Symbol of Unity in Diversity of India’ as she really represents “nari shakti” (woman power) through her contributions in fields of cinema, social service, politics etc and is widely recognized in India and abroad for her contribution to the world of art.

Ms Madhura Deo spoke about the Club FilLit that has been formed with a view to showcasing and promoting literature, culture and films


Ms Madhura Deo explained the theme of the Club FilLit to bring forth Indian connections in films and literature. She said the club will present eminent writers, film producers, directors, actors/actresses and other personalities to elaborate Indian connection with their creations. Some other dignitaries attending the event were Vijay K Nambiar, veteran Indian diplomat and currently serving as the UN Secretary General’s Special Advisor on Myanmar; Prof Indrajit Saluja, Founder and Chief Editor of ‘Indian Panorama’; Dr Navin Mehta, an ENT-otolaryngologist in New York and Dr Sudhir M Parikh, a renowned Consulting Allergist & Chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media. The welcome of Hon’ble MP Hema Malini was organized jointly by the Consulate General of India, New York, TV Asia and the Indian community.
