Ranveer Singh was mind-blown after watching Deepika Padukone and Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in theatres. The ‘Rocky Aur Rani’ actor called it ‘trippy’ as Deepika is pregnant in real-life and in the film as well. Deepika shared a reel on Instagram, which captured their reactions. Last week, the couple, along with his mother and sister, paid a visit to a multiplex to watch the Nag Ashwin-directorial on the big screen.
On July 9, Deepika shared a reel which features reactions from her and Ranveer, along with fans’ response. She obliged for selfies with a few fans as well.
She captioned the video, “What was your favourite part? Comment Below. Have you watched it yet (sic).”
Ranveer Singh said, “It’s really trippy to see a movie like this where her character is pregnant and she’s pregnant. What’s happening?” Deepika smiled and said, “Real review will come now when we go home.”
The ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ actor continued, “I don’t know what to feel. I’m just overwhelmed with emotions.”
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ grossed Rs 900 crore worldwide and is still going strong in theatres. The sci-film with Indian mythology hit theatres on June 27 and has been receiving a positive response from celebrities and fans. The film ends on a cliffhanger with a lead-up to Part 2, which is still in the works.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in lead roles. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is the highest grossing film of 2024.

After her victory, she is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated period political drama, set for 6th September 2024. Backed by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, ‘Emergency’ is a mega-budget depiction of one of the most controversial episodes in the history of Indian democracy. At the heart of the story is one of the most sensational leaders of all time, India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Nothing in ‘Hamare Baarah’ movie against Muslim community: HC
The Bombay High Court on June 18 said it watched actor Annu Kapoor-starrer “Hamare Baarah” movie and found nothing objectionable in it that was against the Quran or the Muslim community, and observed that the film is in fact aimed at the upliftment of women.
It also said that the Indian public was “not gullible or silly”.
A division bench of Justices BP Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla said the film’s first trailer was objectionable, but that has been removed and all such objectionable scenes have been deleted from the movie.
The court noted that it was in fact a “thinking movie” and not the sort where the audience is expected to “keep their brains at home” and only enjoy it.
“The movie is in fact for the upliftment of women. The movie has a Maulana misinterpreting the Quran and in fact one Muslim man objects to the same in the scene. So this shows that people should apply their mind and not blindly follow such Maulanas,” the high court said. A bunch of petitions were filed in the high court earlier this month seeking a ban on the movie claiming that it was derogatory towards the Muslim community and had distorted what the Quran says.
While initially the high court postponed the release of the movie, it later permitted the release after the makers said the objectionable portions would be deleted as directed by the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC). Source: PTI -
Sonakshi Sinha teams up with Riteish Deshmukh, Saqib Saleem for ‘Kakuda’
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who is all set to tie the knot with Zaheer Iqbal, has an upcoming streaming film ‘Kakuda’ on the horizon. The actress will be seen sharing the screen with Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem in the horror-comedy film.
The film is set in the curse-inflicted village of Ratodi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district. Every house in the district has two similar doors, one that is of a normal size and another which is smaller than the other. The film revolves around a peculiar ritual that demands the opening of the smaller door of each house every Tuesday at 7:15 pm. Failure to comply with this rule invites the wrath of Kakuda, who punishes the man of the house.
The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who is known for ‘Zombivili’, and the recent box-office miracle ‘Munjya’.
Talking about the movie, Aditya Sarpotdar said, “As a filmmaker and a fan of the horror-comedy genre, I find it incredibly fascinating to explore the delicate balance between fear and laughter. It’s a challenging task to make viewers simultaneously scared and amused, but with ‘Kakuda’, I am confident that we have hit the right chord yet again. Singer Alka Yagnik reveals she has a ‘rare hearing loss’
Veteran Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik has revealed that she has been diagnosed with a ‘rare hearing loss’ due to a viral attack, and hence was missing in action.
Alka Yagnik, one of the most prominent singers of the 1990s in Bollywood, took to Instagram and shared the news. She posted a picture of herself and wrote, “To all my fans, friends, followers, and well-wishers – a few weeks ago, as I walked out of a flight, I suddenly felt I was not able to hear anything.”
The 58-year-old singer said she mustered some courage in the weeks following the episode. “I want to break my silence now, for all my friends and well-wishers who have been asking me why I’m missing in action. It has been diagnosed by my doctors as a rare sensory neural nerve hearing loss due to a viral attack. This sudden, major setback has caught me completely unawares. As I attempt to come to terms with it, please keep me in your prayers.”
She is known for her iconic songs such as Ek Do Teen, Choli Ke Peeche, among others. -

Salman, Rashmika to begin shooting for ‘Sikandar’ on June 18

Film actor Sonakshi Sinha will reportedly get married to her longtime partner, actor Zaheer Iqbal, later this month.
News of the wedding comes just a month after the premiere of Netflix series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, in which Sinha played the dual role of Rehaana and Fareedan.
While there is no official confirmation about the ceremony, sources close to the Sinha’s family said “the reports are true”.
According to insiders, the wedding will be an intimate affair attended by family and close friends at a fine-dining restaurant in Mumbai on June 23. Sinha and Iqbal, who have been dating for a while, co-starred in the 2022 comedy drama ‘Double XL’.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who will be soon seen in Singham Again and Kalki 2898 AD, has topped the IMDb list of Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade. Following her is the actor opposite whom she made her debut in Om Shanti Om, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan. This list of all top Indian stars is determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide.
Deepika said, “I’m deeply grateful to be included in a list that captures the sentiment of a global audience. This recognition is truly humbling.” The third spot on the list is occupied by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Alia Bhatt is on the fourth spot followed by the late actor Irrfan Khan. Karan Johar announces ‘Dhadak 2’
Karan Johar has announced his new film, ‘Dhadak 2’. Produced by Johar, the film will star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri and will be directed by Shazia Iqbal.
Sharing the announcement video, Karan Johar wrote in Hindi, “Once upon a time, there was a king and there was a queen. They were from different castes, and that’s the end of the story.”
The caption also read, “Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in cinemas 22nd November 2024 (sic).” The movie will explore barriers of class and status stitched in the minds of societies, underscoring a narrative of love that can never be fulfilled. ‘Dhadak 2’, produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions, and Cloud 9 Pictures, features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. ‘Maharagni’ teaser: Kajol is a woman on mission in the action-thriller
Actors Kajol and Prabhu Deva have reunited after 27 years for their upcoming film ‘Maharagni’. Ajay Devgn unveiled the action-thriller’s first-look teaser on Tuesday, May 28. ‘Maharagni – Queen of Queens’ is an intense action and gripping tale of a vengeful woman.
Ajay Devgn released the teaser which begins with glimpses of Prabhu Deva performing action sequences. Kajol, who plays the titular character in the actioner, can be seen as a woman who is on a mission. The actor is also seen engaged in high-octane action sequences. The clip ends with Kajol saying, “Power is not demanded, it is taken away.”
Sharing the clip, Ajay captioned, “Ali re aali Maharagni aali (sic).” Meanwhile, Kajol wrote, “So kicked to share this with you guys. Maharagni.. aka Queen of queens. Take a moment and have fun ! Hope you guys like it. Directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati (sic).”
Helmed by Telugu director Charan Tej Uppalapati, the film also features Samyuktha, Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah, Jishu Sen Gupta, Aditya Seal, Chaya Kadam, Pramod Pathak. It is backed by Venkata Anish Dorigillu and Harman Baweja.
