Anne Hathaway reportedly walked out of a Vanity Fair photoshoot on 23 January in solidarity with Condé Nast’s labour union strike. More than 400 staffers of Condé Nast – the parent company of publications including Vanity Fair, Vogue and GQ – staged a 24-hour walkout to protest the “unlawful handling of layoff negotiations and bad-faith bargaining”, according to CNN Business.
The 41-year-old actor was apparently not aware of the work stoppage when she initially arrived at the photoshoot in New York, Variety reports. However, once Hathaway’s team was notified by a staffer and advised to support the strike, she left.
“They hadn’t even started taking photos yet,” a source told Variety. “Once Anne was made aware of what was going on, she just got up from hair and makeup and left.”

Karmma Calling is based on the popular American series, Revenge. The show is set in the world of glitz and glamour, filled with deceit and betrayal. It has been adapted and directed by Ruchi Narain of Guilty fame.
As soon as the trailer appeared online, many recognised the show was indeed a remake of the TV show, Revenge. Kangana’s ‘ridiculous’ Tejas stunt mocked on Twitter
Kangana Ranaut was seen as an Indian Air Force pilot in Tejas. One of the biggest box office failures of last year, the action film collected only Rs 6.2 crore nett in India. Recently, Kangana, while reacting to an X user who had called Tejas an ‘excellent movie’ that failed in theatres, had slammed Animal’s success. Now, it looks like Kangana’s statement has backfired. Many are taking to X to roast her by sharing a clip of her aerial stunts in Tejas.
Some criticised the VFX and screenplay of a scene in the film, a sped-up video of which is being shared by X users. As Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, Kangana Ranaut was on a rescue mission in the daring scene, which saw her carry an injured soldier in her arms and fly away in a waiting chopper amid threat from a bunch of tribals on a beach. She also survived their bows and arrows mid-air.

SRK ‘begs’ Mani Ratnam for a movie
Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam had worked together in the 1998 film Dil Se. At the CNN-News18 Indian Of The Year 2023 event on Wednesday, January 10, the two spoke about collaborating on a project again. Trying to convince Mani Ratnam to cast him in a film, Shah Rukh said he was ready to do Chaiyya Chaiyya on top of a plane if the filmmaker asked him.
Shah Rukh Khan told Mani Ratnam, “I’m requesting you, I’m begging you and I’m telling you every time to do a film with me. I swear, this time, I’ll dance on top of the plane for Chaiyya Chaiyya if you tell me… And, good evening Suhasini (Mani Ratnam’s wife). I told you that time to tell him ‘Shah Rukh, Shah Rukh’ before he sleeps.” When asked if he’ll make another film with the actor, the director said he would do so ‘when he (Shah Rukh) buys a plane…”
Boasting about the box office success of all his films in 2023, including the blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan told Mani Ratnam in his cheeky way, “Mani, let me just tell you, the way my films are doing… this plane is not faraway.” In response, the filmmaker joked, “I’ll bring it down to earth, don’t worry.”
Sharing a clip of their interaction at the event a fan tweeted, “Shah Rukh Khan’s pitch to Mani Ratnam for another film after Dil Se is so wholesome. SRK said he will dance to Chaiyya Chaiyya on top of a plane this time.”
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Dil Se was a love story set against the backdrop of insurgency in northeast. Lindsay Lohan makes surprise appearance at Mean Girls premiere
Actress Lindsay Lohan made a surprise appearance at the Mean Girls premiere in New York City. The original Mean Girls star celebrated the premiere of the musical movie with writer-producer Tina Fey, who reprises her role as Ms Norbury from the 2004 comedy classic, and Angourie Rice, who takes on Lohan’s role as Cady Heron.
Lohan and Fey were joined by original cast members Daniel Franzese, who starred as Damian Hubbard, and Rajiv Surrendra, who played rapping mathlete Kevin Gnapoor.
Will any of them make a cameo in the film? “I couldn’t possibly say, but we do have some fun cameos,” Fey said.

The original “Mean Girls” is one of the most quotable films ever made, with fans still referencing one-liners like “You go, Glen Coco!” and “On Wednesdays, we wear pink” 20 years later.
Wood, who plays Gretchen Wieners, said “You can’t sit with us!” was the most intimidating line she had to deliver in the musical film.
“I thought it would be ‘That’s so fetch,’ but strangely, I think it turned into ‘You can’t sit with us!’” Wood recalled. “I didn’t even recognize how big that moment was until I was reading the script, and then we were performing it and I was like, wow, I really have to cause a scene right now in front of all these people… But it was so fun. Natalie Portman says method acting is a ‘luxury’ women cannot afford
Natalie Portman is setting the record straight on the concept of method acting for films. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Academy Award-winning actor shared that she likes to keep her personal life and professional life separate, and that method acting is not something ‘women can afford.’
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Natalie said, “I’ve gotten very into roles, but I think it’s honestly a luxury that women can’t afford. I don’t think that children or partners would be very understanding of, you know, me making everyone call me ‘Jackie Kennedy’ all the time.” The actor was referring to her 2017 biographical film Jackie, where she portrayed the character of former US first lady Jackie Kennedy. She received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the film.
The actor had talked at length about her preparation for Black Swan, the film directed by Darren Aronofsky, for which she won the Academy Award. In Black Swan, Natalie played Nina Sayers, a ballerina whose hallucinations and obsession begin to unfold as she prepares for a major production of Swan Lake. Tom Cruise strikes strategic movie partnership with Warner Bros
Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise and studio Warner Bros Discovery have announced a new partnership that will see them develop and produce theatrical films. Cruise, known for delivering blockbusters like Mission: Impossible franchise, Top Gun series and many more, will also star in the feature film projects. As part of the deal, Cruise and his production company will have offices on the Warner Bros Discovery lot in Burbank, California.
The pact with Warner Bros will mark a sort of homecoming for Cruise, who started his acting journey with the studio’s Risky Business and then worked on films such as Edge of Tomorrow, Rock of Ages, The Last Samurai, Eyes Wide Shut, Interview with the Vampire and Magnolia. DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz among Hollywood stars named in Jeffrey Epstein court documents
Amid great hype, a new batch of previously secret court documents was unsealed late Wednesday, January 3, related to Jeffrey Epstein, the jet-setting financier who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
The new documents include a bunch of names from Hollywood. Stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Cameron Diaz, Bruce Willis and Kevin Spacey have been name dropped. However, simply their mention doesn’t not imply that they have been party to any wrongdoing. One of the witnesses claimed that Epstein “would be on the phone a lot at that time, and one time he said, ‘Oh, that was Leonardo, or that was Cate Blanchett or Bruce Willis. That kind of thing.” The person then added that they had indeed not even met Leonardo DiCaprio.
Social media has been rife in recent weeks with posts speculating the documents amounted to a list of rich and powerful men who were Epstein’s “clients” or “co-conspirators.” There was no such list. The first 40 documents in the court-ordered release largely consisted of already public material revealed through nearly two decades of newspaper stories, TV documentaries, interviews, legal cases and books about the Epstein scandal. Still, the records — including transcripts of interviews with some of Epstein’s victims and old police reports — contained reminders that the millionaire surrounded himself with famous and powerful figures, including a few who have also been accused of misconduct. The documents being unsealed are related to a lawsuit filed in 2015 by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre. She is one of dozens of women who sued Epstein for abusing them at his homes in Florida, New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands and New Mexico. This suit was against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend who is now serving a 20-year prison term for helping recruit and abuse his victims.
Even before the documents were released, misinformation about what was in them abounded. Social media users wrongly claimed that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s name might appear in the documents, spurred by a crack New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made Tuesday on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. Kimmel said in a response on X that he had never met Epstein and that Rodgers’ “reckless words put my family in danger.” -
The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay, Bryan Abasolo heading for a divorce
After finding love on “The Bachelorette” and four years of marriage, Marquette University Law School graduate Rachel Lindsay and her husband Bryan Abasolo are heading for divorce.
Abasolo filed for divorce from Lindsay in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to USA Today. The former couple has been separated since Sunday, the filing states.
Abasolo lists “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for his split from Lindsay. “Many of you know me as a chiropractor, and also a husband, my proudest role so far,” Abasolo said in a statement he shared on Instagram Tuesday. “After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew … Sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go.”
He asked for respect of their space “as we figure out our next steps.”
While Lindsay hasn’t directly addressed the matter on social media, earlier this week, she called this past year “one of the hardest” of her life in an Instagram post. The post included a video compilation in which Abasolo was included and tagged.
Lindsay finished third on Waukesha native Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor.” When Lindsay was named “The Bachelorette” in 2017, she became the first Black lead in the franchise’s history. Abasolo would end up proposing to Lindsay in Spain during the finale of the show to the dismay of fans on social media, who largely rooted for runner-up Peter Kraus, according to USA Today reports.
The couple tied the knot in August 2019 in Mexico, and opted to not have it televised.
Lindsay has appeared on other reality shows, including “The Bachelor Winter Games” and “Ghosted: Love Gone Missing.” And, she’s become a fixture in the entertainment news industry, hosting the popular “Higher Learning” podcast. She recently left her correspondent position at the entertainment news show “Extra.”
According to the divorce petition, Abasolo is seeking spousal support, though an amount is not specified, a USA Today report said. Additionally, Abasolo requested to terminate the court’s ability to reward spousal support to Lindsay.
Abasolo is also seeking ownership rights for his shared properties with Lindsay, which include a residence in North Hollywood. -

Deepika opens up about wanting to become a mother, starting family with Ranveer
Deepika Padukone spoke about how she and actor-husband Ranveer Singh ‘hope to inculcate the same values in their children’ that her parents have brought her up with. Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira marries long-time partner Nupur
Superstar Aamir Khan and film producer Reena Dutta’s daughter Ira Khan on Wednesday tied the knot with her long-time partner Nupur Shikhare. Ira, who is the founder and CEO of a mental health support organisation, registered her marriage with Nupur, a celebrity fitness trainer, at a five star hotel in suburban Bandra.
The marriage was attended by their close family members, including Aamir, his ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, among others. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the same hotel.
Ahead of the wedding, Nupur, who is in his 30s, was seen jogging from his residence in Santacruz to the wedding venue, wearing an athleisure outfit. He later danced along with his friends to dhol beats outside the venue.
Videos from the ceremony circulating on social media showed Nupur and Ira signing the marriage documents, surrounded by their families and friends, while the guests cheered for them.

Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan cited for alleged trespassing
Irish actor and film producer Pierce Brosnan, who’s best known for playing James Bond in such memorable films as ‘Golden Eye’ and ‘The World Is Not Enough’, has been slapped with a court date in Wyoming for allegedly wandering into ‘delicate’ and dangerous protected hot springs at Yellowstone National Park, according to ‘Daily Mail’. Brosnan stands accused of venturing off the permitted path and attempting to get a closer look at thermals in the Mammoth Terraces section.
He has been cited twice over the alleged violations on November 1, and is scheduled to appear before US Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick on January 23.
Brosnan has been charged with Foot Travel in a Thermal Area and Closure Violation, according to court documents filed on Tuesday, and quoted by ‘Daily Mail’.
The Mammoth Terraces, notes ‘Daily Mail’, are a popular feature in Yellowstone, constantly changing in colour and activity. Federal rules stipulate visitors to national parks must stay on the designated walkways. Venturing off the boardwalk is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
Brosnan is just the latest tourist to try to bend the rules at the stunning park. At least 22 people have died from burns sustained in Yellowstone’s springs and geysers.
They include Colin Nathaniel Scott, who is thought to have dissolved in the hot acidic water after leaving the boardwalk at the park’s Norris Geyser Basin in search of a place to soak in 2015. Yellowstone National Park, a site of natural wonder and ecological significance, imposes regulations to protect its delicate ecosystem. Brosnan’s alleged breach into restricted areas underscores the importance of respecting such boundaries to preserve these natural landscapes. Yellowstone, established by the US Congress on March 1, 1872, stands as the United States’ inaugural national park—recognized as the oldest, among the largest, and most renowned in the nation. -

Saif opens up on separation with Amrita Singh
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan appeared on the latest episode of the streaming chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ with his mom Sharmila Tagore, and opened up on his separation from actress Amrita Singh.
The actor spoke about the emotional complexities that surrounded the separation and how his mother was always supportive to him.
Talking about the same, Saif Ali Khan said, “Unfortunately, doing it (the marriage) at 20 is young and things change, but she was a great support, she was wonderful to me and she is the mother of two of my kids. I share a good relationship with her and it’s all respectful now. It’s very bad when these things don’t work out. Especially for children, you don’t want that for kids.”
Karan Johar asked, “At that point of time, I think your mother has seen so much of life, with her experience that even when it didn’t work out, I am sure she was immensely supportive of you.”
Responding to that, Saif shared, “You know, she was supportive when I did it, she has told a very nice version of this. She told me, I believe you are living with somebody and you are doing something, so I said, yes. She said, Just don’t get married. And I said, I got married yesterday. And a big tear fell out of her eye and she started crying. She said, “You have really hurt me, why didn’t you tell me?”
Saif further mentioned, “Also, with the separation, the first person I spoke to before the separation was my mother who took a deep breath and there was another pause on the phone and said that I am with you if that’s what you want.”
Sharmila said: “When you are together for so long and you have two lovely children, then no break up is easy. And then if it isn’t a harmonious break up; I mean I know it is difficult to have harmony at that stage, everybody is hurt, so that stage was not nice.”
Karan asked, “Did you continue your relationship with Amrita?”
Sharmila said, “Yes yes, I did. But that’s water under the bridge, she needed time to cool down and they worked it out together, it is just not staying away, there are a lot of things and it wasn’t a happy time for us because Ibrahim was just three and we were very fond of the children. Tiger was especially fond of Ibrahim. And he would say, well that’s a good lad. He didn’t get that time, and we felt deprived to lose Amrita and lose the two kids. While Arbaz looked dapper in a floral bandhgala, Sshura rocked a peach-coloured embellished lehenga.
Filmmaker Farah Khan Kunder liked the post and commented, “Congratulations @arbaazkh anofficial it was truly wonderful n wishing you all happiness.”
The duo had reportedly met on the sets of Arbaaz’s latest project, Patna Shukla starring Raveena Tandon. The film is slated to hit the theatres in 2024.
Raveena was among the first ones to congratulate the couple on their wedding. She shared a video in which she can be seen dancing with Arbaaz to the tunes of Badshah’s song Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.

Arbaaz was previously married to actress-model Malaika Arora. The couple got divorced in 2017. They continue to co-parent their son, Arhaan Khan. Arbaaz had also dated actress Georgia Andriani for a few years. However, they called off their relationship for unstated reasons.
