The much-awaited movie Merry Christmas, featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, will now be released a week earlier than expected. The new release date for the film is December 8, 2023. Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas offers a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience with two distinct versions of the film in Hindi and Tamil, each with its own set of co-actors. The vintage-themed posters of the film have received tremendous appreciation from both fans and celebrities, highlighting the film’s meticulous attention to detail and artistic vision.Earlier at an event, Sriram Raghavan revealed that the film was actually an adaptation of a novel but did not reveal the title of the book. Earlier, Karan Johar took to Instagram and announced a new release date for Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna starrer Yodha, which will yet again clash with Merry Christmas.

‘Leave The World Behind’: Julia Roberts prepares for disaster in apocalypse thriller
The trailer of the upcoming end-of-the-world Netflix film ‘Leave The World Behind’, was released on October 2. The film is based on the book of the same name by Rumaan Alam. The post-apocalyptic thriller features Mahershala Ali, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon and Ethan Hawke.
The trailer of Sam Esmail’s film ‘Leave The World Behind’ is out. The film features a dream cast with Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali in lead roles. It will release on Netflix on December 8. Before that, the movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 22.
The cast is also joined by Farrah Mackenzie and Charlie Evans in ‘Leave the World Behind’. The trailer shows (Amanda)Julia Roberts and Clay (Ethan Hawke) as a married couple who open their doors to the house owner, G.H (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter, Ruth (Myha’la Herrold). G.H, who is a wealthy owner of a Airbnb, comes to Amanda and Clay bearing a warning about the changes in the patterns of the world.
After much confusion about what happens outside the house, the focus is later shifted to the strange things happening inside the house.
‘Leave The World Behind’ is the first fictional film which has been produced by Michelle and Barack Obama’s production house, Higher Ground Productions. The production house has earlier produced films based on children’s programs, documentaries and historical dramas.
According to Vanity Fair, Esmail said, “Having gone through the pandemic, and then the take-your-pick of any number of other disaster-related events like climate change, and the heat wave that we just experienced over the summer, it is the unknown — and the fear of it — that we try to capture in this film.”
The film is also produced by Esmail, Julia Roberts, Chad Hamilton, Lisa Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill. It will also open the AFI Fest on October 25 for its world premiere. -

Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston thinks that getting a good amount of ‘rest’ has helped her stay healthy and vibrant. “I drink a lot of water, move my body daily, try to eat whole, fresh foods, and get as much sleep as I can. That last part is challenging for me, but it’s so important. I feel it when I don’t get enough rest,” the Hollywood star said. “In addition to all of that, I try to be really mindful about what I let into my head space. Our world is really going through some challenges and I know we all care a lot, but sometimes I think it’s imperative that we turn off the noise.”
Earlier this year, Aniston described sleep as ‘beautiful’. The actress has struggled with insomnia for years, and she has now grown to appreciate the value of sleeping well. She told: “Sleep is extraordinary. It’s beautiful. When you’re younger, you kind of take it for granted. You think, ‘I can survive on three to five hours of sleep and I feel great,’ and then, all of a sudden, it just starts not to feel great and your performance isn’t as good as it should be,” she added. Singer, actor mogul Selena Gomez recently talked about her health issues and revealed that she was initially scared to let people know about her diagnosis. Selena was diagnosed with Lupus in 2014 and she found out about her bipolar disorder in 2018. However, the singer took time to let her fans know her condition.
Talking about opening up about her health as assumed risky in the industry, she told Fast Company, “I grew up being a people pleaser… I had a responsibility at a very young age—young people were looking up to me. I didn’t know who I was. Having that responsibility would make me walk on eggshells a lot. I thought maybe it would be damaging to tell people who I am. It started to become a threat that freaked me out. Well, if you’re not right, then you can’t work,” she said. “I went through a really hard season. It was my highs and my lows, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would want to cancel things. It was just a tormented feeling. That’s why, when I found out my diagnosis, it was just, ‘Oh, okay, I feel a bit relieved, I understand a bit more.’ I got second opinions. I went to doctors. I’m fortunate enough to be able to have people who can help me survive every day,” she added. Selena also briefly commented about her breakup with Justin Bieber and said it was the same time. when she decided to take a break from social media.
Selena was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease, in 2014. In 2017, she revealed that she underwent a kidney transplant for the same disease and her best friend, Francia Raisa was her kidney donor. She had previously shared how she struggled with body image issues for years and her lupus worsened it further. In 2020, Selena revealed her bipolar diagnosis during an Instagram live chat session with Miley Cyrus. -

The filmmaker has been actively working towards casting the film over the last few months, and is having detailed conversations with Shahid on the permutation and combinations with regards to film.
The source further reveals, “It’s in very early stages of discussion at the moment and there is no director associated to the script. Once Shahid agrees in principle on the script, Bhansali will scout for a director, as he wishes to get a top director on board the project. It’s a very commercial script, on the lines of two other films produced by SLB, Rowdy Rathore and Gabbar Is Back. SLB and team are hopeful on Shahid to come on board the film.”
Point to be noted is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is likely to get a top director on-board to helm the film and the actor is yet to give his nod to the film.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner officially announced their separation on Instagram a few days ago. Now a source has told Page Six that Joe was ‘very sensitive’ whenever he was asked anything related to Sophie in the past few months. The singer broke his silence on the media speculation surrounding his divorce and thanked fans for support at the LA concert.
In a report by Page Six, a source said that Joe was ‘incredibly checked out and detached’ in the past few months whenever the topic of Sophie came up. Hollywood star Chris Evans is married. The actor, 42, wed Alba Baptista during a ceremony at a private estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Many of the couple’s famous friends were spotted in nearby Boston for the wedding, including Evans’ Marvel costars Robert Downey Jr and his wife Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky, Jeremy Renner, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
Page Six was first to report the news. Hemsworth, Downey, their wives and Renner were photographed dining and chatting at the Contessa restaurant in the five-star Newbury Boston hotel.

Evans and the Portuguese actress, 26, had been dating “for over a year and it’s serious”, People earlier reported.

His family and friends all adore her.” Baptista — who speaks five languages and is the daughter of an engineer and a translator — starred in 2022’s ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ and is also known for her role on Netflix’s ‘Warrior Nun’. In 2018, she did an extensive amount of humanitarian work at an orphanage in Cambodia, focusing on education. She also won the Shooting Star award at the Berlin Film Festival in 2021.

SRK’s ‘Jawan’ continues its dream run at global box office, crosses Rs 600 cr mark
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller “Jawan” has gone past Rs 600 crore mark at the worldwide box office, the makers said on September 13. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, the pan-India film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi as well as Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. It hit the screens worldwide on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
“‘Jawan’ becomes the first film to collect Rs 300 crore in six days, making it the fastest film to cross this milestone! Collects Rs 621.12 crore globally,” a note from the makers stated.
“In the Hindi market, ‘Jawan’ collected Rs 24 crore nett, and with other languages included, the film’s sixth-day earnings totalled Rs 26.52 crore. This brings ‘Jawan’s’ Hindi total to Rs 306.58 crore nett. When you consider the combined earnings of Hindi and other languages in India, the six-day total stands at Rs 345.60 crore,” it added.
“Jawan”, a father-son story at its core, highlights various social and political issues through its hero, essayed by Shah Rukh. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover and Mukesh Chhabra as well as Sanjay Dutt in a cameo appearance.

Jawan trailer: Shah Rukh Khan hijacks trains, fights for the country, wants ‘Alia Bhatt’
Jawan trailer is out. Trailer for Shah Rukh Khan’s eagerly-awaited film dropped days before its release. The video shared by the cast and crew gives the best look yet at the action film, which marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Nayanthara. The film, which has been directed by filmmaker Atlee Kumar, is Shah Rukh’s second release of the year after the blockbuster hit Pathaan, which was released in January.
Shah Rukh Khan plays a former soldier in the movie and operates a team of six women as they pull off different heists around the country. They hijack a metro and Nayanthara’s police officer is put in charge of the case. She asks him what he wants when he names ‘Alia Bhatt’.
However, it looks like Shah Rukh was also married to Nayanthara in the past as they share some romantic moments in a couple of scenes. Deepika Padukone makes a fierce special appearance and beats Shah Rukh in a wrestling match. Vijay Sethupathi is seen in different avatars but appears to play the ‘fourth largest arms dealer in the world.’ Alongside Shah Rukh and Nayanthara, Jawan features Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Ridhi Dogra and Sunil Grover, among others. Directed by Atlee and produced by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also features Deepika Padukone’s cameo appearance. Jawan releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages on September 7, 2023. Advance bookings for the film in various parts of the world promise a huge opening for the Shah Rukh Khan film. Recently, Shah Rukh had shared a motion poster of himself, in which he was seen in his different Jawan looks. In one look, he was bespectacled, in another he was bald. The actor was partially masked in one of the looks, and he looked intensely into the camera in another.
Ever since the film’s prevue, and its songs such as Zinda Banda and Chaleya were released, fans have been trending Jawan on social media. Recently, during an #AskSRK session on Twitter ox X, Shah Rukh was asked about Jawan’s trailer.
A fan had asked him when Jawan’s trailer would be released, writing, “Wanted to know when the trailer of Jawan will launch sir? We fans have been waiting patiently for this. Shah Rukh had replied, “Have it ready now… can’t decide should I put a new song or the trailer….???”

Janhvi sparks ‘secret engagement’ rumors after being spotted wearing huge diamond ring
Recently, Janhvi Kapoor became the talk of the town after reports suggested that she had secretly got engaged to her rumoured boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya. The news spread like wildfire after Janhvi, accompanied by Pahariya, went to offer prayers at the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh.
The actor, dressed in a purple-gold sari, was spotted wearing a huge diamond ring. Following this, speculation was rife that the ‘Dhadak’ actor had been engaged.
However, quashing the rumours, a source close to the actor told Siasat.com that the rumours are “completely rubbish”.
Reportedly, the actor went to the Tirumala temple for her late mother’s birth anniversary. The diamond ring is actually her mother’s ring, which Janhvi chose to wear in her remembrance.
Speaking of Janhvi and Shikhar’s relationship, both have been tight-lipped about it. -
Case against producer, actor of ‘Yaariyan-2’ for hurting Sikh sentiments
The Punjab police have registered a case against director Bhushan Kumar, producers Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru and actor Meezaan Jafri on the charges of hurting religious sentiments after a song in the upcoming movie ‘Yaariyan-2’ allegedly shows the actor wearing a ‘kirpan’.
The FIR was registered in Jalandhar district on the complaint of a member of the Sikh Talmel Committee, Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar said on Thursday, August 31. The case was registered on August 30 night.
Police said the FIR had been registered under Section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the IPC.
According to a complaint lodged by Harpreet Singh, a member of the committee, the actor was seen allegedly wearing a ‘kirpan’ — a symbol of Sikh faith — in a song in the movie.
The complainant said this had hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community as only a baptised Sikh can wear the ‘kirpan’ as per the Sikh Code of Conduct.
The SGPC, the apex religious body of the Sikhs, has already taken strong objection to the actor allegedly wearing the ‘kirpan’ in the song — ‘Saure ghar’ — from the film.
The SGPC has also filed a complaint with the Amritsar Police Commissioner.
Though the film’s directors had claimed that the actor was wearing a ‘khukri’ (a curved knife) and not a ‘kirpan’ and that they have no intention to offend or disrespect any religious beliefs, the SGPC had said “we are not satisfied with your illogical clarification”.
Reacting to the clarification of the film directors, the SGPC had said, “The Sikhs very well know the shape of a ‘kirpan’ and a ‘khukri’, and the way both are worn on one’s body. We are not satisfied with your illogical clarification. Therefore, we are initiating the process of legal action in this case, as the concerned video song is still in public view and continuously hurting religious sentiments of Sikh community.”
