Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor on Tuesday, July 7, tied the knot with Delhi-based Mira Rajput at a farmhouse here in a ceremony attended by close family members and a few friends of the couple.

The nuptials drew immense media interest, but Shahid’s wish of keeping all details guarded turned out to be quite successful as the paparazzi largely failed to get a glimpse of either the duo, the wedding proceedings or even the guests.

The 35-year-old “Vivah” actor, wanted it to be a close-knit affair and so, only about 50 people are reported to have been present to witness his union with Mira, 21 and a graduate from Delhi university’s Lady Shri Ram College.

Shahid and Mira, who got engaged earlier this year, reportedly met at a ‘satsang’ as both their families are followers of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas.

After having dated actress Kareena Kapoor Khan for three years and following link-ups with co-stars including Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu, it’s interesting how Shahid — son of veteran actors Pankaj Kapur and his now estranged wife Neelima Azim — has chosen to settle down with a woman who has no previous connection with the film industry.

Earlier this year, while acknowledging his relationship status with Mira, he had shared with the media that “she is a normal girl and I am a normal guy, and we should treat it like something normal and regular”.

According to sources close to the actor, he wanted their wedding also to be a simple affair, and he has left all the glamour and glitz to happen at a grand celebration in Mumbai on July 12. It is likely to be attended by Bollywood celebrities galore.

But before that, a post-wedding celebration is slated for Tuesday night at a luxury hotel, where Shahid has also booked the Presidential Suite, priced at over Rs.600,000 per night, for himself, a source told IANS.

At another hotel, as many as 50 rooms were booked for the wedding guests.

The groom arrived in Delhi only on Monday in time for his sangeet ceremony at a farmhouse, where he was seen dancing away with Mira on the song “Saj dhaj ke tashan mein rehna” — as revealed by some videos that were leaked online. Another image featuring Shahid on one knee, with Mira dancing, went viral after celebrity photographer Rohan Shrestha shared it on Twitter on Monday night.

While Mira wore an Anita Dongre peach and yellow ensemble, Shahid looked suave in a deep red kurta, bandhgala and black pyjama.

After their wedding, the duo has no time for a honeymoon.

Shahid has to return to shoot celebrity dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded”, where he is coming in as a judge. And his film assignments include Vikas Bahl’s “Shaandaar” opposite Alia Bhatt and “Udta Punjab”, which is produced by Vikramaditya Motwane

The Bombay High Court has just adjourned the hearing on Salman Khan’s appeal against conviction in 2002 hit-and-run case to July 13.

Currently, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor’s lawyers are busy preparing the case papers for the hit-an-run case. Earlier the Bombay High Court while admitting Salman’s appeal against his conviction posted the matter for June 15 and then to July 1 but now, the hearing will begin only on July 13.

On May 6, a Sessions Court had announced a 5-year sentence in the long impending 2002-hit-and-run case in which Khan was involved. Two days after this, the actor, however, was granted bail on May 8 by the Bombay High court and his sentence was five-year long sentence was suspended.

STORY: The film is set in a fictional village called Tanakpur in Haryana. Arjun (Rahul Bagga), a local electrician falls in love with Maya (Hrishita Bhatt), wife of the village pradhan (Annu Kapoor). Influential member of the Khap Panchayat, pradhan, in order to maintain his prestige, falsely accuses Arjun of raping his buffalo. Instead of rubbishing this silly claim, the cops too get involved adding to the chaos.

REVIEW: Said to be based on ‘true events’, the film attempts to mock the superstitious, irrational and orthodox thinking of village folk and khap panchayats. The underlying message being – logic and reasoning take a backseat when it comes to meting out justice.

Though well-intentioned, intriguing and effective in places, this satirical tragicomedy is as sluggish as the proceedings of the very judiciary it takes a dig at. The first half is wasted showing Pradhan and his sidekick (Ravi Kishan) falling for the buffoonery of a self-proclaimed godman (Sanjay Mishra). He even claims to have a cure for Pradhan’s impotency. Arjun’s clandestine affair with Maya and their not-so-secret rendezvous too eat up a lot of time. The film gets to the point only in the second half.

As far as comedy is concerned, lines that are genuinely funny get repeated to the point that they cease to amuse you. What is hard-hitting is the tragedy of the situation (what Arjun’s family goes through) and gives some meaning to an otherwise absurd script. If that aspect was given more prominence, Tanakpur would have been a much better film.

For a satire, subtlety is what you miss. You can’t possibly harp on potty jokes, describe women’s breast sizes and crack jokes on rape to sound smart and socially responsible. Sadly, this social satire, which could have been an eye-opener on false cases and fraud witnesses, literally has more shit (pun intended) than substance.

This diarist has learnt that the actress will auction a part of her filmi wardrobe for charity. Costumes from Aladin, Race 2 and the blockbuster Kick will be offered on a portal. Bollywood actress Sunny Leone will be seen in a cameo in superstar Akshay Kumar’s action comedy ‘Singh Is Bliing’.

This is for the first time that the filmstar, who had made her Bollywood debut in 2012 in Jism 2, is featuring in the film of an A-lister like Akshay Kumar.

“She will be doing a cameo in Singh Is Bliing. We cannot reveal what that cameo is about,” a source said.

When contacted, Sunny’s husband Daniel Weber picked up the call, but neither confirmed nor denied the report.

“No comments… they (makers) would be the right people to talk about it (cameo in the film),” he said before hanging up.

Singh Is Bliing is an action comedy directed by Prabhu Deva and is expected to be released in October.

“Mastizaade” is an upcoming sex comedy movie starring Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das in the lead alongside Leone with  Ritesh Deshmukh as a guest appearance.

“Mastizaade” had been banned by both Examining Committee (EC) and the Revising Committee (RC). Later, Milap Zaveri, the director, approached the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) to challenge the reports of the previous committees. Bollywood Hungama reported that the Bollywood movie was waiting for certification from the censor board that resulted the delay in releasing the movie. However, recently, the censor board has confirmed that the film cannot be given green signal to hit the big screen.

“The film is only concerned with the exploration of the different parts of the human anatomy, both male and female and is such as to deprave the minds of the audience,” according to a report released by Tribunal.

“Freedom of expression cannot and should not be interpreted as a license for the cine-magnates to make huge sums of money by pandering to shoddy and vulgar tastes,” the report also added.

Sunny Leone, who is an Indo-Canadian actress and model, started her career in the porn industry in 2001. She was voted number 13 (up from 41) on “Genesis” magazine’s “Top 100 Porn stars” list in 2007. An international men’s magazine named “Maxim” ranked Leone as one of the top 12 female stars in porn in 2010.

After her Bollywood debut in Pooja Bhatt’s erotic thriller “Jism 2” in 2012, Leone started focusing on mainstream acting. She also received good critics for her performance in her previous Bollywood films “Jackpot,” “Ragini MMS 2” and “Ek Paheli Leela.”

Shahid Kapoor’s marriage has become the hot topic of discussion. Shahid is all set to get married to Delhi-based Mira Rajput on July 7. Earlier reports claimed that the actor will marry Delhi based Mira Rajput on June 10 in Greece but now reports state that the actor will marry only in July.

A source close to the actor said, “Shahid has asked us to block dates between July 5 and 8 for his sangeet and wedding ceremonies.

Another source said “The wedding will be preceded by a mehendi and sangeet ceremony on July 6. It will be an intimate affair with only 40 to 50 guests in attendance. They will all be put up at Hotel Trident in Gurgaon. Shahid will fly to Delhi on July 2 along with his family. The marriage ceremony will take place in traditional Punjabi style at a farmhouse there.”

DNA reports that the actor is planning a grand wedding reception in Mumbai on July 12 after his wedding in the capital. The source further added that the reception will take place at a beach facing luxury hotel and the who’s who of Bollywood will be invited.

The actor will have a private wedding ceremony and only families and close friends of Shahid and Mira will be present. Apparently the actor has invited step father Rajesh Khattar to the wedding. Rajesh is Shahid mother Neelima Azim’s husband.

Clearly the media has got all the dates and the venues mixed up and only time will tell what is happening and where!!!

STORY: A motley group of dancers from Mumbai court notoriety before they can actually taste fame. Does the shamefaced group find their rightful place in the world of hip hop?

REVIEW: ABCD2 (short for Any Body Can Dance) is a sequel to the 2013 film that definitely raises the bar from its first part. It gives you dancing delight Varun as its protagonist. And it takes you on a neon-light kissed tour of Las Vegas, the venue for an international hip hop competition. Both Varun and Vegas are easy on the eye as is the film’s heroine Shraddha. However, this true-blue 3D dance film that serves us energy and verve while hip-hopping, dishes out a stale plot.

Suresh (Varun) and Vinnie (Shraddha) along with a bunch of friends, dream of making it big in the world of dance. Their journey starts with a local competition, where they are booed out because they have plagiarised their act.

Labelled cheats, Suresh, who is a part-time waiter and Vinnie, a part-time hairdresser, continue with their dancing dream. They meet Vishnu (Prabhudheva) —India’s answer to Michael Jackson, who speaks more Tamil than Hindi even in a Bollywood film. Vishnu is also an alcoholic and an insulting bad-ass but Suresh sees as their ticket to the stars. Frankly, this threadbare script throws up silly situations and characters that are caricatures. An attempt to get one person from each Indian community, childish brawls and some insult-trading goras are cliches that are done to death in desi cinema. Like most dance movies (made in the West or Bollywood), the malady we are hit with is that while the dancing is professional, the writing is amateur. So, you whoop and whistle when the dances are on. But stifle a yawn between the gravity-defying grooves. The music is a let-down as is the Shraddha-Varun-Lauren Gottlieb love triangle.

The patriotic fervour in the climax brings a lump to the throat. If only the film had been 15 minutes shorter, the ‘Jai Ho’ would’ve resonated more!

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has amassed five million fans on social networking site Facebook.

The 26-year-old actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Maneesh Sharma’s Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, tweeted: “5million fans on facebook!!!!And soon on twitter too!! Yayy yayyy thank you soo much guys I love you”.

Parineeti keeps her fans entertained by frequently sharing news on social media about her professional and personal lives.

The Ishaqzaade star was last seen in the 2014 film Kill Dil. Directed by Shaad Ali, the film also features Ranveer Singh, Govinda and Ali Zafar.

Katrina Kaif is said to be joining Hong Kong martial arts star Jackie Chan in the upcoming action-adventure film Kung Fu Yoga, but the Bollywood actress’ representative shared that nothing is confirmed as of yet.

According to reports, the 31-year-old actress, with roots in London, will play an Indian professor at a Chinese university, whereas Chan will be seen as a Chinese archaeologist who enlists her help to unearth treasures from the Magadha era.

However, Katrina’s spokesperson shared that the actress is yet to decide.

“Katrina is yet to take a decision on the film. Nothing is confirmed as of yet,” her spokesperson said in a statement.

Earlier, there were reports that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan was to star in the film, which will be directed by Stanley Tong.

Later, the PK star denied the reports and said his commitment towards Dangal has left him no time for another project.

Kangana recently unveiled  the trailer of Katti Batti  along with her co-star Imran Khan and director Nikhil Advani. As the floor was opened to questions, a reporter asked Kangana a cliched question: “Who do you think is the Queen of Bollywood?”

While the reporter might have been expecting an equally cliched response to that, she was in for a surprise instead. Kangana did not answer that question instantly. It was almost as if Kangana heard it, tried to digest it’s lameness for a second, smiled to cover up and replied, “Is Bollywood a country? It is a very lame question.”

Isn’t that sassy now. Thats what makes her the queen we guess.

Yo Yo Honey Singh has managed to make his mark in Bollywood in a very short period. The rapper has collaborated with most bigwigs in Bollywood right from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan to Amitabh Bachchan and has been a part of quite a few controversies. A few months ago, rumours abuzz with his vanishing act. While there were reports that the singer had gone into depression after SRK slapped him in public, a few rumours also suggested that he was in rehab for alleged drug abuse.

The rapper is again in news for a character in an upcoming film inspired by the rapper. According to a leading daily, the Lungi Dance singer is an inspiration for a character in The Spectacular Jihad Of Taz Rahim. This is reportedly an Indo – American film and Rashsaan Islam who will play an aspiring singer in the film has admitted that his character – Taz is inspired from Yo Yo. While preparing for this role, Rahsaan used to listen to the rapper’s songs throughout the day. Monica Dogra is also a part of this Indo American project.

Nothing can really stop Shah Rukh Khan. The actor who underwent a knee surgery on May 21, finished one schedule of director Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, and then yesterday, flew off to Bulgaria for two months to shoot for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale.

Rohit has already reached the Balkan nation and SRK’s excitement was apparent as he tweeted, “Dilwale time…can’t wait to see the smiling faces of Rohits team. Waited a year for the fun to begin all over again….Bulgaria Express (sic).”

The dilwala will be joined by his dulhania, Kajol, and one of Bollywood’s most-loved couples will be filming a romantic song together in exotic Eastern Europe. Remo D’Souza, when prodded about the track which he will be choreographing, insisted that he had yet to hear it.

SRK was spotted at the airport, casually dressed in jeans, Tee, a leather jacket and dark glares. He still needed one of his crutches but his stride was jaunty and his wit razor-sharp as he made a laughing reference to his unfamiliar drooping moustache, “Battery died on trimmer so part of Raees still on face.”

He bumped into Hrithik and his sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan, who were on their way to South Africa for a holiday. Hrithik admitted that he was confused about how to introduce his Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham bhaiya to his boys. “Too cool for uncle, full name, first name – not respectful. Man of love – too long! Need help,” the 41-year-old-actor wrote on his Facebook page.

Vipul Shah has directed Akshay Kumar in over five films like Aankhen, Waqt among others, he will yet again don the director’s hat for the sequel to the popular film Namastey London (which was also directed by him), titled Namastey England. A sequel was always on the cards, however, there were many speculations around it. But, now it is confirmed that Namastey England will have Akshay Kumar producing it as well as playing the lead.

Though the makers are planning to keep the details of the film under wraps, it is being said that the second installment will be a completely new love story with a twist. Moreover, the female lead too will have a performance based role. While the prequel had Katrina Kaif playing the lead, the leading lady for this one is yet to be finalized. From what we hear, this film is inspired by a true love story and will once again be based in Punjab and London.

Namastey England is slated to go on floor in January 2016 and will be releasing in the second half of the year.

Shah Rukh Khan, has begun shooting in  Bulgaria for his upcoming film ‘Dilwale’ with one of his most compatible onscreen actors, Kajol. He seems to be getting quite nostalgic as he shared a collage of pictures with the actress. Shah Rukh Khan uploaded a collage of pictures from their big hits together including ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘My Name is Khan’. “Somedays it’s good to ponder over the journey…as you embark upon a new destination,” the actor captioned the picture.

Well, The world can’t wait to watch them both spreading the true meaning of “ROMANCE”.

Kangana Ranaut is in high spirits after the success of her latest outing. But the actress believes with this, she is now pushing herself towards more.

She says, “I have started expecting more from myself. To render strong roles consistently can be draining, and now, I feel the question ‘What next?’ looming large. To evolve into the next level of cinema needs the support of strong scripts and visionary filmmakers. So let’s see what kind of scripts come my way or I might get into direction. For now, I’m doing Hansal’s (Mehta) film called Simran and Vishal sir’s (Bhardwaj) film called Rangoon.”

Ask her about the rumours of demanding a price hike post her hit films, she quips, “The film has done big numbers worldwide. I did two actress’ work and got paid only for one actress’ salary… (laughs)”

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez says her Kick co-star Salman Khan has helped her a lot professionally. Jacqueline, 29, who is reportedly no more a part of the 2014 hit film’s sequel, said she would be fine if she does not get to share screen space again with the superstar.

When asked about the sequel, Jacqueline said, “I am not aware about it. I am okay with it if that is the case (not being part of Kick sequel). “Kick has been one of the best experiences I have had in my life. Salman has already done a lot for me. If I am not getting to work with Salman in Kick 2, then some other film.”

Meanwhile, Jacqueline is excited about her upcoming film Brothers, where she essays the role of a young mother. “It’s an honour to be part of a project like this where I get to work with Akshay
(Kumar), Jackie (Shroff) and Sidharth (Malhotra). It was a challenge as it’s not an ordinary situation as I am playing a young mother…,” she said.

Brothers is an upcoming action-drama film, directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. The film is an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood film Warrior and is scheduled to release on August 14, 2015.

She may have missed out on an array of successful projects in the past but from the looks of the line-up of her upcoming film, you’re sure to agree that Kareena Kapoor Khan is in no mood to miss out on good content anymore. On one hand she has a commercial whopper like Bajrangi Bhaijaan opposite Salman Khan and on the other she’s tapping into the dark side playing a schizophrenic in Rajkumar Gupta’s next. Further more, she plays a doctor in Udta Punjab, a film that taps into the prevalent drug culture in Punjab. She’s also playing a hard-core aggressive career woman in R Balki’s next while Arjun Kapoor is the stay home husband who becomes an overnight success on the Internet. Mrs Khan sure has her hands full this year.

After putting up a grand show in Dubai last year, the popular show is all set to shoot episodes in North America.

The small screen’s popular Kapil Sharma took to twitter to share the news with his fans abroad. ”Coming to USA and Canada with my galatfamily…” Kapil tweeted.

Tickets for the live show will go on sale soon, the comedy star informed. The show, which has become one of the biggest platforms for promoting movies, will be travelling to various cities like Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, Toronto, Houston, San Jose and Vancouver.

Along with Kapil, popular characters of the show- Gutthi, Palak, Pinky, Daadi, Manju and Raju will also entertain the audience. This is the second overseas outing for the comedy show.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor expressed his anger through a series of tweets last night warning fans that he’ll be off Twitter if they don’t stop fighting. He said in his tweets, “Messed up fighting over yr hero’s vit each other. make this journey beautiful, dint sign up fr this ugly twitter war n not a part of it . Continue it n I vil b off twitter. Came here to spread love, share sm thoughts hv fun vit fans not for them to insult my fraternity. Hut.”

He further asked his fans to stop using foul and abusive language for anyone, especially anyone from within the film fraternity and show some respect for other artists. He also requested fans to spread love and not hatred. This is what his next few tweets read…

In the last episode, we saw Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) barging into the court an stopping Simmi and Subbu’s(Amit Tandon) wedding. She stated that upon speaking to Shaila Bhua in London she was informed that Subbu is a dangerous man and isn’t right to marry Simmi. The bhallas were shocked and Subbu enraged. He grabbed Ishita by the neck and tried to kill her. He was stopped by Raman(Karan Patel), who shoved him aside and warned him to keep away from Ishita. Subbu left, vouching that he will destroy the Bhallas. Meanwhile, Ishita was trying to figure out as to why Subbu was hell bent on seeking revenge against her family. The episode ended with her telling Raman that they should visit Subbu’s psychiatrist and tell her about his attack on Ishita, so that they could get some information out of the doctor.

In the upcoming episode, a shocking turn of events will take place where Raman will be accused of selling Simmi’s daughter.We are guessing this story will be planted by Subbu where a breaking news item will present Raman as a rich businessman who sold Simmi’s little girl Ananya to get a sum of Rs 15 lakhs! The Bhallas will be shocked with this accusation. Ishita on the other hand will be joined by Hamari Adhuri Kahani’s Vidya Balan, who will promote her upcoming film on the show. She and Ishita will look into Subbu’s medical records and try and figure out the incidents from his past.
