Shiv Dass, President, Jackson Heights Indian Merchants Association, New York

My dear Professor Saluja,

I am glad to know The Indian Panorama is publishing the New Year Edition.

The Indian Panorama has become a part of  my life in the last 14 years. I am happy, the publication is growing and going into 15th year of publication. Congratulations!

The year 2020 was dominated by Coronavirus which disturbed the normal life in every way. There has not been much community activity because people could not gather. Jackson Heights Indian Merchants’ Association which normally organized a couple of events, including Vaisakhi, Independence Day of India, Diwali and the New Year had toremain contented with no activity. I know, other organizations also remained inactive. The damage to social life apart, 2020 has been a tough year for businesses. The bustling Jackson Heights remained locked down for some time, and now that the market is open, the business is at its lowest ever. I wish and pray  the conditions will improve and  we will return to normal life, which may not be just the same as before. However, let us hope for the best. I wish The Indian Panorama and all people associated with the publication  all success in their endeavor.

Happy New Year.
