GUATEMALA CITY (TIP): The Embassy of India in Guatemala, in collaboration with the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), successfully organized a hybrid Buyer–Seller Meet (BSM) on 12 September 2025. The event brought together approximately 55 Guatemalan companies for in-person participation, while Indian companies joined virtually through video conferencing.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by H.E. Shri Raj Kumar Singh, Ambassador of India to Guatemala, who underlined the growing India–Guatemala partnership and the importance of technology and innovation as drivers of bilateral trade. The Ambassador extended his greetings to the Guatemalan companies and the Indian participants for taking part in this platform to explore business opportunities.

Mr. Gurmeet Singh, CEO & Executive Director, ESC India, delivered opening remarks highlighting India’s global strengths in electronics, IT and software exports. He stressed that the Indian industry is keen to partner with Guatemala to bring quality products, services and expertise to the Central American market. Ms. Sofía Velásquez, Foreign Trade Coordinator, Chamber of Commerce of Guatemala, welcomed the Indian companies and spoke on Guatemala’s readiness to enhance trade cooperation with India, emphasizing the vast opportunities for collaboration in technology and electronics. Mr. Juan Esteban Sánchez, Director, Invest India, outlined India’s rapidly growing investment climate and invited Guatemalan businesses to collaborate with Indian companies, citing India’s ease of doing business and vibrant start-up ecosystem.
The highlight of the session was the presentation of “INDIASOFT” Video and PowerPoint presentations by participating Indian companies, moderated by Mr. Vikrant Saxena, Joint Director, ESC. These presentations showcased a diverse range of Indian products, software solutions and services designed to meet international standards and market needs.
A dynamic Questions and Answers session followed, where Guatemalan participants interacted directly with Indian exporters. Questions covered topics such as supply chains, pricing structures, after-sales service, certification requirements, and logistics. The session allowed for meaningful exchanges and helped clarify specific market demands and opportunities.
Testimonials from Guatemalan visitors to India — including Mr. Pablo Ceballos and Mr. Daniel Monroy from Guatemala and Mr. Manuel Castillo from Honduras — were shared. They highlighted their positive experiences in India, underlining India’s advanced technology capabilities, business-friendly environment, and warm hospitality.
Both Guatemalan and Indian companies expressed strong interest in follow-up engagements and reported that the BSM had provided valuable insights, opened new channels of communication, and laid the foundation for stronger trade partnerships in the electronics and IT sector between India and Guatemala. The Embassy of India reaffirmed its commitment to continue facilitating such platforms to deepen bilateral commercial engagement and expand opportunities for Indian companies in Central America.
