CHARSADDA (TIP): A minor girl was killed after being raped in a remote village of Pakistan’s northwestern Charsadda district on Thursday. Iqra (10) was found dead by local residents in a drain about 50 feet outside her house early on Thursday with a nylon shawl around her neck.

Hakim, an eyewitness said, that she had bruises on her face, hands and legs. Police have taken the body for post mortem. “She was raped and it appears that she became unconscious due to forced vaginal penetration. She suffered with grievous internal injuries besides strangulation marks on her neck,” hospital sources said.

A local police official investigating the case said that Iqra was raped in a small hujra (male guest house) owned by her uncle Khalid. “We arrested two suspects in the morning and they led us to the ring of rapists. We made further arrests,” he said.
