Mrs. Daman Dutt India Association Of Long Island Pioneer Award 2013 Young Entreprenuer

Mrs. Daman Dutt is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Mint Green Inc.Mrs. Dutt joined the family business in 2008 soon after graduating from Rutgers University, New Jersey. Shortly after, within the same year, she opened her new company. Mint Green Inc. is a very updated junior women’s clothing line that provides wholesale clothing to America’s largest department stores. Some of which include, but are not limited to: Ross Stores, T. J. Maxx, and Burlington Coat Factory, as well as private labels for many specialty retail stores across the United States.

Mrs. Dutt graduated from Rutgers Business School with finance major and women’s history minor. Her entrepreneurial and business leadership skills come naturally from growing up in a family of successful business leaders. Her passion for business management comes from her father Mr. Gurdev (D.P) Singh, President & CEO of Meetu Magic Inc. Following in the footsteps of her father, Daman grew up being in the garment business and she represents the fourth generation in this field of work.

Mrs. Dutt attributes her zeal to succeed to her parents and learnt real entrepreneurial skills from her father, dinner table conversations growing up, and working in family business. In addition to her interest in the business world, Daman is very much interested in women’s welfare. As a Women’s History minor, she studied and explored the political, social, and economic history of the women from all time periods and cultures. She gained a deeper understanding of the important people and events in the history of women and how they have shaped our present-day society.

Mrs. Dutt is a role model for the youth and an inspiration for young women to aspire to be entrepreneurs. She is very keen on involving herself to champion for women’s causes, promote Indian culture, and actively take part in charitable and community work. Mrs. Daman Dutt married Mr. Navnit Singh in May 2012. Mr. Navnit owns and runs his own luxury car service business for the past 5 years. Having been married only one year, the couple hopes to collectively give back to the community and start their own charity.
