Akshay says son Aarav left home at 15, wears 2nd-hand clothes
Akshay Kumar rarely speaks about his children — son Aarav and daughter Nitara — in public, preferring to keep their lives away from the limelight. However, he made an exception on cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s brand new talk show, Dhawan Karenge on Jio Cinema. During the interaction, Akshay revealed that Aarav doesn’t want to be a part of films and wants to pursue a career in fashion.
Speaking on the show, Akshay shared how he didn’t want Aarav to leave home at the age of 15 to study abroad. He said, “My son Aarav is studying at the university in London. He left home at the age of 15. He was always fond of studying and wanted to stay alone. It was his decision to move even though I didn’t want him to go. However, I could not stop him because I left my home at the age of 14.”
Khiladi Kumar lauded his son for being grounded, doing all the household chores himself, and avoiding splurging on expensive clothes. He said, “He does his own laundry, he is a good cook, does the utensils and doesn’t even want to buy expensive clothes. In fact, he goes to a second-hand store, Thrifty, to buy clothes because he doesn’t believe in wastage.” -

Katrina Kaif pregnant with her first baby? Actor’s representative issues statement
The internet is obsessed with a new video of actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal walking together on the streets of London. After the video surfaced online, social media was flooded with comments about how Katrina – who was dressed in baggy clothes – is expecting her first child with her husband. A report by Zoom even claimed that the actor is pregnant. However, her representative agency has called the report ‘unconfirmed’.
“Request all media houses to immediately stop this unconfirmed reporting and speculation,” read a statement shared by Raindrop media.
Per a source quoted by Zoom, Katrina Kaif’s pregnancy rumours are not off the mark. The source said that ‘if all goes well, Katrina and Vicky will welcome their first child in the UK’. Earlier in February this year, actor Anushka Sharma gave birth to her second child, son Akaay, in London, as per multiple reports.
The source quoted by Zoom added that Katrina, who has grown up in the UK and owns a house in London’s Hampstead, will deliver her baby in London. “Katrina bacha London mein hi deliver karegi. Vicky bhi wahin hai (Yes, she is pregnant. They will welcome their first child in London itself. Vicky is already there with her).”
While vacationing in London, a video of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal walking hand in hand went viral, capturing fans’ attention as they noticed Katrina’s alleged baby bump. Katrina-Vicky’s new video from London fuelled pregnancy rumours, with some on social media even saying that Katrina looks ‘more pregnant’ than actor Deepika Padukone, who is set to deliver her first baby in September 2024. Fans are convinced that Katrina is pregnant. An Instagram user commented on her latest video, “Katrina and her love to keep things private. She seems more pregnant than even Deepika, meaning she will deliver ahead. Maybe she went to London to hide from paparazzi. She does look pregnant and that walking gait shows it.” Another wrote, “She is walking as if she is pregnant.” A comment also read, “I think she is pregnant. It’s not the big jacket but the way she walks.”

Actress Alaya F has shown interest in starring in a period drama and spoken about what would it take for her to feature in a remake of Kabir Bedi and Rekha-starrer Khoon Bhari Maang. About the 1988 film, Alaya said, “If people think it’s right then sure, and if they don’t do it in a gimmicky way. I feel like when these gimmicky things happen, then I am not for it. If I am genuinely correct for the part and they feel like I am able to add value to the project, then, yeah, sure.”
Ever since her debut in 2020 with Jawaani Jaaneman, Alaya has featured in several genres of films, including psychological thriller, supernatural thriller and an action thriller. However, she is keen to do a period drama.
“I really want to do a period film, where I can wear all that royal attire and feel all of that. That’s something I want to do,” said Alaya, who is the daughter of actress Pooja Bedi.
She added, “I also think that it will be something new for me to sort of put my feet into and actually in my acting class I have trained for that.”

Then there are some films that I chase, and some films are completely by luck. It’s a mixture of everything.” -

In Heeramandi, Richa Chadha shines brightest as the doomed Lajjo
Richa Chadha’s performance as the anguished Lajjo burns the brightest in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Her arc is inarguably the shortest, yet leaves the impact of a sudden storm that wreaks havoc within the harmonious framework of the narrative. Lajjo is alcoholic, hopelessly romantic, and wildly unpredictable. Her tragedy lashes down on the syntax of the show quite early, and even though the story picks up soon after, her spirit leaves a gaping wound that refuses to heal.
Bhansali also provides Lajjo with two beautiful musical creations- Sakal Ban and Masum Dil Hai Mera. Perhaps Lajjo is akin to the brief incandesce of a song, one whose presence lifts the mundane towards a frantic high. Sakal Ban is where Lajjo is first introduced- we see her arrive with a twinkle in her step, instantly at ease with the other dancers. It is when Mallikajaan (Manisha Koirala) has announced the ‘nath utrai’ ceremony of her daughter, and the entire Shahi Mahal is awash in yellow, the spirit of spring. The viewer will see Lajjo with all the other women of the community for the first time. The second time that happens- the same space takes on a devastating contrast.
Lajjo is in love with Zorawar (Adhyayan Suman), the resident Nawab of Lahore. Laughing at the thought that Mallikajaan’s daughter Alamzeb (Sharmin Segal) wants to be a poetess, she says how these dreams are the reason for the downfall of women. Yet, who will tell Lajjo that her dream of marrying Zorawar- will be her biggest mistake? She refuses to acknowledge the truth and hopes on, daydreaming of freedom from her life as a courtesan. With an unsteady gait, she stumbles on her way to meet her lover. When she falls just outside her room, she brushes it off with a smile. The smile is so used to enveloping the pain that it has now become a static reaction.
When Zorawar informs her that he is getting married to another woman, Lajjo is again left with nothing but her shattered dreams. She hangs on to the thought that she will be married too and will go on a honeymoon out of the country. Her mention of Paris is quite telling; she’s a woman who knows the world that exists outside the walls of the Shahi Mahal. Yet, the more she tries to step into that dream, the more she is shown the door. When she is finally granted independence to step outside, it is of the ultimate form.
Richa has always been a compelling presence on screen, carving out fierce and unapologetic female characters in the course of her decade-long career. In Heeramandi, the actor is cast against type, and it is a thrill to witness her infuse Lajjo with such intensity and grace. It is her finest hour on screen. Bhansali gives Lajjo the doomed arc of a Nargis in Pakeezah and the imprint of Meena Kumari’s spirited elegance. That influence fuses into the stunning kathak performance for Lajjo in what is the standout sequence of the series. Source: HT -
