Miam (TIP)- Tiger Woods, the golf legend and 15-time major champion, was heard telling police he had been speaking to US President Donald Trump moments after his car crash in Florida, according to bodycam footage released by authorities. The incident led to Woods’ arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence and has attracted significant attention.
The footage, issued by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, shows Woods appearing disoriented as officers assessed the scene following his vehicle’s rollover near his home. During questioning, Woods mentioned a phone call with Donald Trump.
In the video, a police officer asks Woods to remain on site while the investigation proceeds. Woods responds, waving his phone, and says, “Yeah, I was just talking with the President.”
Following the crash, Woods was subjected to a sobriety test before being handcuffed and taken into custody. The 50-year-old golfer has since announced a temporary break from golf to focus on his health after the incident.
Donald Trump commented on the situation while speaking to reporters, expressing concern for Woods. He described Woods as “an amazing person” but acknowledged he was facing difficulties.
