The new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 features the original song, Runway, performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii. The upcoming film shows Meryl Streep’s Miranda and Anne Hathaway’s Andy joining forces against a “new-age crisis.” Two decades after their unforgettable roles as Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel, the original quartet — Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci — reunite amidst New York’s high-fashion backdrop for a follow-up to the 2006 comedy-drama.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites the original main cast with director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna. Along with the returning stars, a fresh group of actors joins the cast, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, and Lucy Liu. Fans will also see some other familiar faces from the first film, as Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman return to play Lily and Irv. Other new additions to the story include Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J Shen, and BJ Novak.
The new trailer, released by 20th Century Fox, shows Miranda facing a major professional turning point, forcing her to turn to Andy to navigate a new-age crisis. While Andy seems happy to reconnect, Emily is visibly stunned by the unexpected reunion between the former colleagues.
Hathaway, while speaking about reprising her role in The Devil Wears Prada 2, at a promotional event in Tokyo said that she was curious about Streep’s opinion. The actor later learnt that Streep had already read the script and “loved it”, which heightened her own expectations. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is produced by Wendy Finerman and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and Aline Brosh McKenna. The film is set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
