Embassy of India Organizes Media Interaction with Romanian Media Representatives

Remarks by the Ambassador of India to the Press & Media

BUCHAREST (TIP): The Embassy of India in Bucharest, in association with Indigo Hub KPTV, organized an interaction with representatives of leading Romanian media organizations on 1 July 2026 as part of its regular media outreach programme. The interaction provided an opportunity to brief the media on the current state of India-Romania bilateral relations, India’s development priorities, and the Embassy’s programme of activities for the coming months.
The event was coordinated and hosted by Mrs. Mina Cristiana Radu, Host and Co-Producer, Indigo Hub KPTV, and Business Development Manager, KOL News & KPTV. Welcoming the participants, she underlined the important role of the media in fostering greater public awareness and promoting stronger understanding between India and Romania. The occasion also served to introduce Indigo Hub KPTV to Indian companies and Romanian businesses engaged with India.

Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador of India to Romania and concurrently accredited to the Republic of Moldova, Shri Manoj Mohapatra, highlighted the positive trajectory of India-Romania relations and the expanding scope of bilateral cooperation. He noted that the partnership has continued to grow across a broad spectrum of areas, including trade and investment, education, science and technology, digital innovation, renewable energy, defence, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. He emphasized that India and Romania, as democratic partners, share common values and a mutual commitment to peace, prosperity and sustainable development.
The Ambassador also highlighted India’s remarkable transformation over the past decade under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He spoke about India’s progress in infrastructure development, digital public infrastructure, manufacturing, innovation, renewable energy, social welfare and economic reforms, which have positioned the country among the world’s fastest-growing major economies. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, he underlined India’s commitment to inclusive, sustainable and innovation-driven growth as it advances towards becoming a developed nation by the centenary of its Independence.

Question & Answer Session with the Press & Media

An interactive question-and-answer session followed the presentation. Journalists sought the Ambassador’s views on a range of issues, including India-Romania relations, India’s economic growth, foreign policy, digital public infrastructure, investment opportunities, renewable energy, defence cooperation, and regional and global developments. Responding to the queries, the Ambassador highlighted India’s growing role as a trusted partner, a leading innovation-driven economy, and a responsible stakeholder in addressing global challenges.
A cultural presentation featuring a vibrant Bollywood dance performance was organized alongside the interaction, offering participants an opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of Indian culture. The programme formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing cultural diplomacy initiatives aimed at strengthening people-to-people ties and promoting greater appreciation of India’s cultural heritage in Romania.

The interaction witnessed active participation from representatives of leading Romanian print, television, radio and digital media organizations. It provided a useful platform for dialogue and exchange of views, while further strengthening the Embassy’s engagement with the Romanian media and enhancing awareness of the growing India-Romania partnership.
The Embassy of India remains committed to further strengthening India-Romania relations through sustained engagement with the media, academia, business, cultural institutions and civil society, thereby fostering deeper mutual understanding and expanding the multifaceted partnership between the two countries.
