Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana went down memory lane on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 as they revisited their 2019 film Gulabo Sitabo. During the conversation, Ayushmann jokingly apologised to the veteran actor for calling him ‘budhau’ (old man) in the film. Ayushmann appeared on the October 5 episode of KBC 18 with Sara Ali Khan. The actors were on the show to promote their upcoming film Udta Teer. The money they won on the quiz will be donated to charity, with the actors choosing different causes.
While talking about Gulabo Sitabo, Ayushmann turned to Amitabh and said, “Aapko film mein budhau kaha, I am sorry. Aap budhau nahi hain. Really life mein aap mein 84 wali koi harkat nahi hai, aap 28 hain (I called you budhau in the film, I am sorry. You are not old. In real life, there is nothing about you that suggests you are 84; you are 28).”
Amitabh, who is 84, immediately joined in on the joke and asked, “84 wali kya harkatein hoti hain (What are the things that an 84-year-old does)?”
The exchange brought back memories of their first film together. Amitabh also praised Ayushmann during their conversation.
Sara Ali Khan revealed that she was a little jealous of Ayushmann for having already worked with Amitabh Bachchan. She pointed out that several members of her family, including her mother Amrita Singh and grandmother Sharmila Tagore, have shared screen space with the actor, but she is yet to work with him.
Amitabh, meanwhile, complimented Sara’s family and spoke about the Pataudi family’s striking eyes. He also recalled seeing Sara’s grandfather, former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s mother, driving an open Jaguar in Delhi.
The episode also featured a special KBC Radio segment dedicated to Amitabh. Ayushmann spoke about the veteran actor in a radio-style tribute and sang one of his songs during his birthday week.
