TORONTO (TIP): The Life Certificate Camps organized by the Consulate-General of India in Toronto got off to a rousing start with an overwhelming response from the beneficiaries.

The camps that started on November 1 will continue on all weekends until the end of this month.

Kuljeet Singh Arora, who supervised the first camp at the Hindu Heritage center in Mississauga, said that hundreds of members showed up at the camp to get their life certificates and get other councilor services.

Another camp was held at the Toronto Kalibari Temple. In all, the two camps extended pension-related services to approximately 900 pensioners.

India’s Consul General in Toronto, Mahaveer Singhvi, visited the camp at the Hindu Heritage Centre and interacted with senior citizens and heard their concerns and suggestions.

He reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to making essential consular services more accessible, convenient and responsive by bringing them closer to the community.

The Consulate appreciated the support of both community organizations in facilitating this outreach initiative and serving overseas Indian citizens.
