Anne Hathaway apologises for ‘rude’ interview after comparisons drawn to Blake Lively

Anne Hathaway had recently apologised to Norwegian entertainment journalist Kjersti Flaa over her 2012 interview for Les Miserables. The actor had reached out to Kjersti, after the latter shared the clip on TikTok. As Anne got to know about the viral clip, she reached out to the journalist to extend her apology. However, since the video resurfaced online, social media is divided and users are comparing Anne to Blake Lively.
In the 2012 interview, Anne had declined Kjersti’s singing request and said, “Well, I won’t be doing that, but you’re more than welcome to sing.” As the journalist once again asked her, “No?” The actor replied, “No.” When Anne was again asked if she remembers her first crush, she said, “No.” The interview then concluded as both shook hands and said, “Thank you very much,” to each other.
Earlier, during Kjersti’s interview with Blake, the latter was criticised for making a snide remark about Kjersti’s supposed “bump,” even though the journalist wasn’t pregnant. A user pointed out, “This poor lady gets the worst celebrities and she seems so nice! First, Blake Lively, then Anne Hathaway (congrats on your little bump).” A user also commented, “We got to stop idolizing these celebrities.” Another user wrote, “Don’t go on an interview if you’re going to give one worded responses.”

Anne Hathaway leaves Vanity Fair photoshoot

Anne Hathaway reportedly walked out of a Vanity Fair photoshoot on 23 January in solidarity with Condé Nast’s labour union strike. More than 400 staffers of Condé Nast – the parent company of publications including Vanity Fair, Vogue and GQ – staged a 24-hour walkout to protest the “unlawful handling of layoff negotiations and bad-faith bargaining”, according to CNN Business.
The 41-year-old actor was apparently not aware of the work stoppage when she initially arrived at the photoshoot in New York, Variety reports. However, once Hathaway’s team was notified by a staffer and advised to support the strike, she left.
“They hadn’t even started taking photos yet,” a source told Variety. “Once Anne was made aware of what was going on, she just got up from hair and makeup and left.”

Anne Hathaway reveals her preferred name

Anne Hathaway prefers to be called Annie. The 38-year-old actress has been known as Anne for her entire Hollywood career, but has said she regrets telling the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) she wanted to be known by her full name, because she prefers being called Annie. She said: “Call me Annie, everybody, everybody, call me Annie, please. It’s … can we talk about my name for a second? “When I was 14 years old, I did a commercial, and I had to get my SAG card and they asked me, ‘What do you want your name to be?’ And I was like, ‘Well, it should be my name. My name’s Anne Hathaway.’ So that seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people will call me Anne.”
