Bollywood actresses like Lara Dutta, Dia Mirza and Preity Zinta have tried their hand at film production, but Kareena Kapoor has no such plans. She says she is all for acting, and hopes she is on the set even when she takes her last breath.

“I have never been interested in production, direction or writing. I have always been interested in acting since childhood, and I will continue doing it till I grow old.I will keep on visiting the sets and hope I will even die on the sets,” Kareena said at an event.

Kareena comes from Bollywood’s famous Kapoor family, which has produced legends like her great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor and grandfather Raj Kapoor.

Her parents Randhir Kapoor and Babita made their mark as popular actors too, and her Kareena’s elder sister Karisma was among the top actresses of 1990s. Her cousin Ranbir is touted as Bollywood’s latest youth icon.

Kareena herself is one of the toprated talents of current times, and as of now, she is busy shooting for Prakash Jha’s ” Satyagraha” and Karan Johar’s ” Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.”

The gorgeous Bipasha Basu was the star visitor at the Reliance Digital electronics store at Avani Riverside Mall, Howrah. Wowing the audience with her opening line, “Kemonachhenshobai?” she spoke about her forthcoming release ‘Aatma’, a psychological thriller directed by SuparnVerma.

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly put all her wedding guests on standby and asked them to act quickly once they get to know about the whereabouts of the extremely private celebration because they will only be given a short notice. A source told Radar Online that the 44- year old actress, who is set to marry Justin Theroux, has Indicated that the nuptials will be a small and private affair with just a select few invited, including her mother Nancy Dow, Contactmusic reported.The source revealed that those who are invited have been told to drop everything they are doing and head to the location whenever they are informed about the wedding details.

The source added that the guests have heard rumours about the wedding being held in Hawaii or even Greece, but many expect it to take place in California. Some expected guests are Aniston’s close pals Courtney Cox, Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Chelsea Handler and Christine Taylor.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow feared she was suffering a stroke during a health scare at her London home. The Hollywood actress was serving lunch to friends in her garden in 2011 when she suddenly fell ill. Paltrow admits she feared the worst, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

In her new cook book, she has written: “One sunny afternoon in London, in the spring of 2011, I thought – without sounding overly dramatic – that I was going to die. I had just served lunch in the garden at home.

“I had a vague feeling that I was going to faint, and I wasn’t forming thoughts correctly… I got a searing pain in my head, I couldn’t speak, and I felt as if I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was having a stroke.”

STORY: A devoted father sets out on a mission to have his son released from a wrongful conviction. Along the way, he has to risk everything and resort to some pretty unconventional means.

MOVIE REVIEW: John Matthews (Dwayne Johnson) is an honest man. He goes about his day-to-day work and is a protective dad with a clear sense of what’s right and wrong. But it’s not long before the shoot-’em-ups start and the intrigue sets in. His son Jason Collins (Rafi Gavron) is not the brightest kid on the block – a flaw that has him facing the slammer for a good ten years, for unwittingly participating (rather, being duped) in a drug shipment.

Jason can however benefit from a reduced sentence if he helps ‘snitch’ on some of the senior baddies in the cartel. The only problem is Jason is no criminal. The cops don’t believe this. Sensing the danger his son is in, Matthews approaches the stony-faced District Attorney Joanne Keeghan (Susan Sarandon) and offers her a deal – he will do the dirty work himself. He will help the cops ensnare some of the criminals with Agent Cooper ( Barry Pepper) monitoring from afar. The film tends to lose direction now and then with unnecessarily serious discussions and vague, philosophical cross-references that question the US justice system.

You might find yourself wishing that they would just get on with the action instead because that is the film’s strongest point.There are plot holes too. For example, no explanation is offered as to how an ordinary businessman (Matthews) is suddenly an expert at wielding arms and ammunition like a commando. Susan Sarandon does carry with her a sense of gravitas. Juan Carlos ‘El Topo’ Pintera (Benjamin Bratt) convincingly plays the cartel kingpin. Watch it if you like action films and are a Dwayne Johnson fan.

Though Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are playing mafia-men in their upcoming movie ‘Gunday’, the actors feel that the biggest don on the film’s sets is lead actress Priyanka Chopra. “She is the boss of the sets. She is our madam…

The biggest Gundi (lady don) on the sets is Priyanka Chopra,” chuckled both Arjun and Ranveer. The entire cast and crew of the director Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Gunday’ is currently in Kolkata for the shooting of the film.

Joining the banter, director Ali said, “The first day she came onto the sets, she categorically told us, ‘look guys I am 30 films old’. Then Ranveer said he is four and a half film, Arjun said he is two and a half films and I said I am one and a half films.” “So from that statistics you can understand the hierarchy…,” Ali quipped.

The film revolves round two dons of Kolkata from the 70s essayed by Ranveer and Arjun, with Priyanka, who enacts the role of a Bengali girl Nandita, being their love interest. Talking about the film, Ali said, “It is a fictional story but based on lot of real life events that happened between 1971 and 1988. It is the story of Bikram and Bala who start from being small-time wagon breakers and with time become black marketing mafias.”

Make no mistake. There is no dilemma in Deepika Padukone’s mind. She has moved on from Ranbir Kapoor, her ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’ co-star. And she now shares a good equation with Ranveer Singh, her ‘Ram Leela’ leading man.

But what one hears is that there are behind-thescene machinations to make the Ranveer- Deepika pair more exciting than the Ranbir- Deepika pair.

STORY: War between giants and humans is reignited when a farm boy accidentally drops the magic beans he’s been given by a mysterious monk.

REVIEW: A monk gives farm boy Jack ( Nicholas Hoult) some magical beans in exchange for his horse. Jack accidentally drops one of the beans. It erupts into a gigantic beanstalk which reaches to the sky, taking Jack’s house and Princess Isabelle ( Eleanor Tomlinson) along with it. The beanstalk leads to the land of the giants. In order to rescue the princess, her conniving would-be groom Roderick ( Stanley Tucci), love-struck Jack and the king’s brave knight Elmont (Ewan McGregor) decide to face the giants, thus reigniting an ancient war.

Adapting a classic fairytale into a feature film still seems like a distant dream, considering most of the recent attempts have been mediocre. Be it Snow White and the Huntsman, Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and now Jack the Giant Slayer which has borrowed elements from both Jack the Giant Killer and Jack and the Beanstalk. The films have been unable to recreate the magic of the classic fables. Bryan Singer, who has made films like X-Men and Valkyrie, finds it difficult to keep the audience engaged, let alone be entertained.

CGI giants which are supposed to be the USP of the film seem caricaturish and onedimensional. They don’t seem menacing at all. Even the evil Roderick looks cartoonish. Jack, the hero, seems inexcusably dumb while you wonder what Ewan McGregor is doing in this soul-less film!

The film is painfully predictable and the romance awfully sweet. An elongated tug-of-war scene between the humans and giants does not qualify for an epic battle scene and that’s the biggest drawback. The 3D is lacklustre and the SFX unable to salvage the uninteresting script. Children may find this film amusing, thanks to the art direction and story-telling style. For the rest, if only the story was modified better!

Sherlyn Chopra, known for her bold and sexy image, was in the news after she uploaded the promo of her film, ‘Kamasutra 3D’, without consulting the Hollywood producers. Consequently, buzz had it that director Rupesh Paul was upset with her as she had violated the terms of the agreement and that he was planning to replace her with a Hollywood actress. However, now all seems to be well between Sherlyn and the filmmaker.

They’re scheduled to start shooting in Rajasthan in March. Rupesh says the video was like a screen test and wasn’t meant for public viewing. “Sherlyn came to my hotel room to take it saying she just wanted to copy it on her phone and she wouldn’t share it. Kamasutra 3D is a Hollywood production and they’re strict about their terms and conditions.

I had declined when they requested me for the video. Later, they got it from the video-sharing site.” Confirming that they’ve now sorted out their differences, he says, “Sherlyn has assured me in writing that going forward she will not do or say anything to promote the film without the prior consent of the producers.”

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez is the latest actress in Bollywood to shake a leg with ace choreographer Prabhu Deva for an item song in his upcoming directorial venture. Earlier, Sonakshi Sinha did an item number ‘Go Go Govinda’ with Prabhu Deva in ‘Oh My God’, Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar did the ‘Chinta Ta Chita Chita’ song in ‘Rowdy Rathore’, Salman Khan and Govinda danced with him in ‘Jalwa’ from ‘Wanted’ and even Madhuri Dixit shook a leg with him in ‘Que Sera Sera’ song from ‘Pukar’.

Now, for Prabhu Deva’s next directorial venture ‘Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya’, Jacqueline will be doing a song titled – ‘Jaadu Ki Jhappi De De Tu Abhi’. “We have Prabhu Deva, Jacqueline and Girish (leading hero of the film) doing a special song ‘Jaadu Ki Jhappi De De Tu Abhi’. It is a travel song but not like ‘Chaiyyan Chaiyyan’, it is very different,” producer Kumar Taurani told .

Taurani will be launching his son Girish as an actor with ‘Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya’. The song has been shot in Punjab. “The song is very much a part of the film. It has not been added for promotional reasons. The boy (Girish) goes from city to village in search of his love, this is where the song appears in the film,” Taurani said.

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in “Anger Management” and she will play herself in the show. In the show, she becomes a patient of Charlie Sheen’s therapist character and begins a romantic relationship with him, reports femalefirst.co.uk. The episode will be aired in April. Sheen, 47, and Lohan have been close since they worked together in “Scary Movie 5”. “They offered me a decent amount of cash to do ‘Scary Five’ as a cameo.

Movie Review: Straight up, Silver Linings Playbook (SLP) is a lovely movie with a heart of caramel – and an occasionally brilliant mind. Teacher Patrick Solatano’s (Cooper) wife Nikki has a superiority complex – and an affair. Pat attacks her lover, Nikki leaves, Pat’s diagnosed with bipolar disorder and put into a facility. Eight months later, his mum Dolores (Weaver) has him discharged on condition he’ll stay with her and dad Pat Sr. (De Niro) – and away from Nikki. Optimist Pat’s one aim is getting better, so Nikki will take him back.

But he meets depressive Tiffany (Lawrence), whose grief at losing her husband turns her briefly to compulsive sex, helping whom – by partnering together for a dance competition – might help Pat win Nikki back. But first, Pat must deal with his obsessivecompulsive father, friend Danny (Tucker) whose mental health status isn’t quite certain, therapist Dr. Patel (Kher) who plays the one song that triggers Pat’s rage – and his own increasingly crazy feelings for Tiffany.

The acting simply shines – Cooper is magnificent as handsome oddball Pat, struggling to keep it sane, while Lawrence is a treat, her sadness-tinged sexiness like a modern Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Others deliver too, De Niro superbly superstitious about TV remotes during football games, Weaver strong as silk as a supportive mom, Tucker hilariously urging Pat and Tiffany to “black up” their dancing, Kher calmly noting, “That’s very, very manic indeed.” The story’s endearingly intelligent – “I apologize on behalf of Ernest Hemmingway!” yells Pat breaking a window, outraged by a novel’s sad ending – perfumed by quirky, unconventional romance, celebrating a love for life that hurts and heals together. There are tiny quibbles – it could’ve had a tangent less – but at the end, you’re left with pure silver lining and no cloud.

Mila Kunis has said that she is tempted to turn her back on Hollywood and start a family with her boyfriend Ashton Kutcher. The Black Swan actress, 29, believes her industry is too “fickle” to offer lasting happiness.

She told Playboy magazine that she want to be a “present mum”. She rued that she’s never in the same place for more than two months, which will make it difficult to have a normal family.

Mila, who has five upcoming films including Oz The Great And Powerful out next month, added that she doesn’t think she can do this for the rest of her life.

She said that if that means she does one movie a year, and if people still want to see her by that point, then she will probably stay in the showbiz. “My only source of happiness can’t be dependent on something so fickle,” she added.

MOVIE REVIEW:
The film opens with a bizarre sequence of events. Victoria ( Megan Charpentier) and younger sister Lilly (Isabelle Nelisse) are frisked into a speeding car by their own father, leading to the woods. To her horror, Victoria finds herself and her sister, alone, abandoned in a dark forest.

Five years later, the two are rescued by their uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster- Waldau). He and his rocker girlfriend Annabel ( Jessica Chastain) get the isolated girls home, but can things get back to normal? The film works brilliantly as a psychological thriller, which constantly plays with your mind. Andres Muschietti does not resort to cheap gore or cliched ghost appearances to give you the creeps.

He leaves you shellshocked instead as he plays around with shadows, mysterious evil noises and baffling supernatural occurrences.

Mama is atmospheric and the haunting mood of the film impressively never goes down. The film does resemble Paranormal Activity a bit minus the ‘found footage’ cinematography, but this one’s way scarier and less static.

When it comes to the plot, the back-story is not explained clearly as your questions are left unanswered, but that does not affect the spook quotient. The girls are brilliant. They contribute highly to the film’s eeriness. Cinematography is equally appealing. Icy roads, snowy forests, dark woods, deserted houses… Mama is a treat for intense horror movie buffs.

Socialite Kim Kardashian is curious – about how it feels like to have sex with her. The 32-year-old, who is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Kanye West, expressed her strange thought on her reality show “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami”, reports thesun.co.uk. “I would want to know what it’s like to have sex with myself. Playing it cautiously, director Prabhudeva is attempting to stay clear of any stray news pertaining to Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya. However, since the film is being shot in Punjab, curiosity got the better of us and we chased the team for exclusive shots of Jacqueline Fernandez donning a banjara style ghagra choli for her role as a pinup girl in this film. Jacky has been roped in for an item number.

Shooting began on Wednesday morning in Kiri Afghana village in Chamkaur Sahib, Punjab. The lush fields are being transformed into a special camping zone, reminiscent of uprooted villagers in transit.

Director Vishwas Patil’s Rajjo talks about the issue of mujra houses that are dying a slow death in today’s world of competition and the changing social order. Kangana Ranaut, who plays a mujrawali in the film, has performed on the song Kaleja Hai Hajir… Khanjar Kahan Hai. And, being a trained Kathak dancer, the curly-haired actress showed her prowess in this dying dance form. The song, written by Dev Kohli and Sameer, is composed by Uttam Singh and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. Kangana is extremely gung-ho about her dance. The actress, who has stayed away from item numbers in her movies so far, says, “Item numbers are not my cup of tea.

The mujra songs in Rajjo can’t be called item numbers. They are authentic and a tribute to worldrenowned Kathak exponent Gopi Krishna. I am enjoying every bit of dancing that I am getting to do in this film.” Says Patil, “For Rajjo’s role, I was looking for an actress who had trained in Kathak and Kangana fit in perfectly. I wanted a powerhouse performer and she fulfiled all my expectations.” Dance director Ganesh says, “I was thrilled to see her dedication and the end result. It’s one of her best performances.” Rajjo, produced by Four Pillars Entertainment, releases in 2013.

The actress is working hard on sculpting herself back to shape for her next with the athletic actor. There was a particularly heart wrenching scene in The Dirty Picture, in which Silk, who has abused her body after being rejected in love, struggles to fit into her clothes. Vidya Balan, who had put on 12 kilos to essay the role of the buxom actress, looked chillingly convincing as her love handles and jelly belly refused to be contained by the tight clothes.

The Dirty Picture was followed by Kahaani (where Vidya played a pleasantly plump pregnant woman) and recently Ghanchakkar, but the weight stuck on to Vidya as did the tag of one of the most successful actresses.

Fresh from sweeping almost all the major awards, the actress tolod about her determination to lose that extra flab and fit into yet another challenging role. Actress Sunny Leone is “emotionally and mentally disturbed” after Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) claimed that she had made the controversial statement – “Rape is not a crime, it’s just a surprise”. The actress has now filed an FIR against KRK. “Sunny is emotionally and mentally very disturbed with the false allegations levied by Kamaal Khan against her, and the cheap and demeaning jokes that he is continuously posting on his twitter account in her name, thereby outraging her modesty openly on a public platform,” Rizwan Siddiquee, lawyer of the actress, said.

“Resultantly, she has been crying inconsolably and is not in a proper frame of mind to even talk to the media with regard to such built-up controversies surrounding her.”

He added: “As the acts committed by Kamaal Khan are largely cognizable, to protect her legitimate rights and interest we have filed an FIR under Sections 500, 504, 509 of the Indian Penal Code together with Section 66 A of the Information Technology Act 2000.

British actress Keira Knightley’s Chanel advert has been discontinued during children’s programming and termed as unsuitable for viewing by younger viewers. Keira, 27, who shot to fame in the hit 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham, is the face of Chanel perfume Coco Mademoiselle.

The ad for the perfume shows Keira photographed on a bed and the photographer unzipping her clothes after which she is shown covered by a bed sheet and lying near the photographer. Chanel defended the ad, saying it was common in perfume ads to show sexual content.

Keira is an Oscar nominated actress and one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Drew Barrymore, who is looking trim after giving birth to her first child Olive just four months back, revealed her slimming secret while attending the New York City Ballet’s Annual Luncheon Benefit on Thursday.

The 37-year-old actress flashed a pair of Spanx’s control underwear under a skirt, when she was walking into the Manhattan theatre, the Daily Mail reported.

At first, her long, floaty skirt, with a black-and-white tie-dye pattern, appeared to keep everything covered but as she walked, its thigh-high slit became glaringly apparent, so did her black Spanx.

The curve tightening-underwear can be used to hide bumps and bulges, but it appeared that Barrymore wore hers as a kind of slip as she feared revealing too much.
