    Three muggers attack man in wheelchair in Brooklyn

    BROOKLYN, NY (TIP): Three masked muggers attacked a man in a wheelchair in front of his Brooklyn home, throwing him to the ground, punching and pistol-whipping him, then running off with his money, police sources said.

    The 42-year-old victim was cut and bruised on his head in the Wednesday afternoon incident on Cozine Ave. in East New York.

    He didn’t get a good look at the suspects, who stole $400 and his cellphone.

    Two of the suspects were armed, sources said.

    The attack follows the September mugging of a 93-year-old Harlem woman that drew outrage. The crook in that case eventually turned himself in.

    Five teens rob Queens Rite Aid, take off with more than $1,000 worth of merchandise

    NEW YORK (TIP): Five teens robbed a Queens Rite Aid of more than $1,000 of merchandise, police said Wednesday, November 16. The thieves stormed a Rite Aid on Cross Bay Blvd. near 161st Ave. in Howard Beach around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27, cops said.They ransacked the store of around $1,350 worth of merchandise, according to officials. Before leaving, one of the teens warned a clerk against following them, claiming he was armed with a knife.

    The band of thieves fled the store in a white Cadillac EscaladeCops released a surveillance video that shows the teens entering the store, and are asking the public’s help identifying them.

    They are all described as men between the ages of 16 and 20, according to officials.

    Man shot in face, 2 others injured in Harlem attack

    HARLEM, NY (TIP): A 21-year-old man was shot in the face while two others were also injured in Harlem early Wednesday, January 6, cops said.

    The three men, ages 19, 21, 41, were confronted by a shooter on W. 141 St. near Malcolm X Blvd. around1:24 a.m., according to police. The 19-year-old victim was shot in the hand, and the 41-year-old was shot in the arm.

    All three victims were taken to Harlem Hospital and are expected to survive, authorities said.

    The shooter was not caught as of Wednesday morning, according to cops.

    Bronx man pulled from burning apartment in October was strangled to death

    NEW YORK CITY (TIP): A Bronx man who died after being pulled from his burning apartment in October was strangled to death, officials said Wednesday. Keith Alexander, 53, died from “asphyxia by neck compression” when he was found in a fire around 10 p.m. Oct 29, the city medical examiner determined. Paint thinners were used to ignite the blaze in his home on Weeks Ave. near the Cross-Bronx Expressway, sources said. The blaze may have been set to cover up evidence of the homicide, investigators believe. Security video captured a man and a woman entering and leaving the apartment numerous times in the hours before Alexander’s death, including five minutes before a 911 call was made, sources said. Alexander had burns from the waist down, sources said. He was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital where he died, police said. Alexander had six prior arrests, including one for criminal possession of a weapon dating to 2003, police said.

    NEW YORK (TIP): Four people were shot – one fatally -while two others were stabbed in separate incidents in the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan late Thursday and early Friday, police said.

    First, in the Bronx, two groups of men were in an argument near 183rd St. and Jerome Ave. in University Heights around 10:55 p.m., cops said, when shots were fired and people fled.

    Cops found 16-year-old Justin Morris shot multiple times to the back nearby on Jerome Ave. near Buchanan Place. He died at the scene.

    A 19-year-old man, whose name was not released, was later found by cops on 183rd St. and Jerome Ave. with three gunshot wounds, two to his back and one in the buttocks. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he’s in stable condition.

    “There were two guys lying on the ground,” said a man, who didn’t want to be named and just got out the 183rd St. train station.

    “One guy looked dead.”

    BROOKLYN (TIP): A 33-year-old woman and her 44-year-old current boyfriend were rushed to Kings County Hospital, police sources and FDNY officials said. The boyfriend later died, according to police, while the woman was in stable condition.

    The shooter was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, sources said.

    “He was just very jealous,” said Judith Bristol, a friend of the targeted woman. “Lovers quarrel I guess. She broke up with him and he couldn’t accept it.”

    Woman in critical condition after being struck by hit-and-run driver in the Bronx

    NEW YORK (TIP): A woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she was slammed by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx on Thursday, November 19, police said.

    The woman was hit on Westchester Ave. near Pilgrim Ave. in Pelham Bay at 4:39 p.m., cops said.

    She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in grave condition, cops said. The driver fled the scene, cops said.

    A vehicle description was not immediately available.

    The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was called to the scene to probe the crash.

    The crash came in the midst of a ten-day NYPD crackdown on dangerous drivers in the city.

    On Wednesday, a man and a woman were killed in Brooklyn just blocks apart from each other in separate traffic crashes, cops said. Both victims were pedestrians.

    Man plunges to death from fifth floor Queens window after stabbing girlfriend

    QUEENS, NY (TIP): A 29-year-old man died after he plummeted from a fifth floor window, November 16 -moments after stabbing his girlfriend several times in Queens, police said.

    The 24-year-old woman was attacked when a domestic dispute turned violent in the fifth floor apartment on Grand Central Parkway near Commonwealth Blvd. in Little Neck shortly after 9:20 a.m., authorities said.

    Bloodied and panicked, she ran out onto the street and flagged down a passing NYPD patrol car, police said.

    The officers then went to up to the apartment to investigate but found the man had plunged from the window down to the ground on the side of the building, according to officials. Police were investigating whether the man leapt or fell.

    The man and woman were both rushed to North Shore LIJ Hospital, where the man died, police said. The woman was listed in stable condition.

    It was not immediately known what spurred the violence.
