No Godzilla, no naagin, Kartik Aaryan turns Naagzilla in new film

Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films have announced ‘Naagzilla’, a fantasy comedy featuring Kartik Aaryan in the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an ichadaari naa (shape-shifting). The film is set for release on Nag Panchami, August 14, 2026.
Announcing the news on his Instagram, Kartik wrote, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh leen, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar. #Naagzilla: Naag lok ka pehla kaand. Funnn phailaane Aa raha hu main, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki. Sssssinemas mein. 14 August 2025 ko (sic).”
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and written by Gautam Mehra, the film marks Aaryan’s second collaboration with Dharma Productions following their upcoming Valentine’s Day release. This is Kartik Aaryan’s second collaboration with Dharma Productions, following their upcoming Valentine’s Day release – ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’.
It is also the first joint project between Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain.
‘Naagzilla’ slithers into theatres on August 14, 2026.
In the clip, Kartik Aaryan, in a pair of blue jeans, has his back facing the camera. He is standing inside a snake den, looking at the distant cityscape. Interestingly, Kartik’s human skin slowly transforms into a green and scaly texture, resembling a snake.
Kartik Aaryan’s voiceover can be heard in the background.
He says, “Icchadhari naag. Ruup badalne ke shakti rakhne waale saap. Jaise ki main. Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Umar 631 saal. Insano wali picturein toh bohot dekhli aab dekho naago waali picture. (Shape-shifting serpents. Just like me. Age: 631 years. You must have seen enough movies featuring humans, now, watch a film about snakes.)
