NEW YORK (TIP): Mr. Prem Bhandari, International coordinator of Akhil Bharatiya Rajasthani Bhasha Manyata Sangharsh Samiti, and Media Chairman of Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA) has welcomed the election of Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Vice President of India. He said in a statement to The Indian Panorama that it is a matter of pride and joy for all Rajasthanis the world over that the two top legislative bodies- the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha- are now presided over by Rajasthanis. While Shri Om Birla is the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. As a result, the Rajasthani community which has been waging a struggle for the last many years to have the Rajasthani language included in the Eighth Schedule , feels assured that the two leaders at the top would put their weight to ensure that the Rajasthani language gets its due place and recognition. Mr. Bhandari recalled a meeting with Shri Dhankhar back in 2011 when Shri Dhankhar had extended his wholehearted support for the inclusion of the Rajasthani language in the Eighth Schedule. Mr. Bhandari said that he would soon be taking a delegation to Shri Dhankhar to personally congratulate him on his election and to request him to initiate the process of recognition of the Rajasthani language, and its ultimate inclusion in the Eighth Schedule.
