  • DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz among Hollywood stars named in Jeffrey Epstein court documents

DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz among Hollywood stars named in Jeffrey Epstein court documents

Amid great hype, a new batch of previously secret court documents was unsealed late Wednesday, January 3, related to Jeffrey Epstein, the jet-setting financier who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
The new documents include a bunch of names from Hollywood. Stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Cameron Diaz, Bruce Willis and Kevin Spacey have been name dropped. However, simply their mention doesn’t not imply that they have been party to any wrongdoing. One of the witnesses claimed that Epstein “would be on the phone a lot at that time, and one time he said, ‘Oh, that was Leonardo, or that was Cate Blanchett or Bruce Willis. That kind of thing.” The person then added that they had indeed not even met Leonardo DiCaprio.
Social media has been rife in recent weeks with posts speculating the documents amounted to a list of rich and powerful men who were Epstein’s “clients” or “co-conspirators.” There was no such list. The first 40 documents in the court-ordered release largely consisted of already public material revealed through nearly two decades of newspaper stories, TV documentaries, interviews, legal cases and books about the Epstein scandal. Still, the records — including transcripts of interviews with some of Epstein’s victims and old police reports — contained reminders that the millionaire surrounded himself with famous and powerful figures, including a few who have also been accused of misconduct. The documents being unsealed are related to a lawsuit filed in 2015 by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre. She is one of dozens of women who sued Epstein for abusing them at his homes in Florida, New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands and New Mexico. This suit was against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend who is now serving a 20-year prison term for helping recruit and abuse his victims.
Even before the documents were released, misinformation about what was in them abounded. Social media users wrongly claimed that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s name might appear in the documents, spurred by a crack New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made Tuesday on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. Kimmel said in a response on X that he had never met Epstein and that Rodgers’ “reckless words put my family in danger.”

  • Cameron Diaz ‘angry’ over rumors that Jamie Foxx was ‘crazy’ on Netflix film set

Cameron Diaz ‘angry’ over rumors that Jamie Foxx was ‘crazy’ on Netflix film set

Cameron Diaz appeared on a recent episode of the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast and pushed back against rumors that Jamie Foxx was “crazy” on the set of their Netflix movie “Back in Action” (via People). Foxx was in the midst of production when he was hospitalized for a medical emergency. Diaz said reports surfaced afterwards saying Foxx was “making everyone miserable and that I was never gonna make another movie again because of him.”
“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” Diaz continued. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’ … Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him and he’s just a professional on every level.”
Diaz said she “had a blast” working with Foxx on “Back in Action,” which is notable for being her first leading role in nearly a decade.
“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun,” Diaz said. “The hiccups that happened throughout production are the natural kinds of things that happen. But nothing got delayed other than, obviously, toward the end. And that’s something that is not my place to speak about.” Diaz declined to discuss Foxx’s medical incident, but she said that the Oscar-winning actor is “thriving” now. “When I see and hear people trying to take another person down like that … [Jamie is] so classy. He’s like, ‘Nope. Just let them [talk],’” Diaz added. “Still, it just really made me angry.”
“Back in Action” reunites Diaz and Foxx, who worked together on 1999’s sports drama “Any Given Sunday” and 2014’s “Annie” remake, which was Diaz’s final film role until now. Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses”) is directing the movie from a script he wrote with Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors”). The film is expected to be released in 2024.

Cameron Diaz opens up about stepping away from acting

During a sit-down interview with actor-comedian Kevin Hart for his Peacock talk show, Hart to Heart, Hollywood star Cameron Diaz opened up about how acting occupied much of her life which ultimately led her to take a step back and reevaluate everything.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, you’re the person who’s the talent, all parts of you that isn’t, that has to sort of be handed off to other people,” the 48-year-old explained.

She went on to explain that from the spotlight perspective, it’s as if she was “a machine” but for her “personal spiritual self” she realized when she was 40-years-old that the part of her that “functioned at a high level wasn’t enough”.

Cameron also reiterated that though she has a “love” for acting, there were “so many parts” of her life that she “wasn’t touching” and “wasn’t managing”.

“For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself. It’s the best feeling,” she explained.

Cameron Diaz says she ‘couldn’t imagine’ returning to a movie set again

Actor Cameron Diaz opened up about why she “couldn’t imagine” getting back into Hollywood, and how she has found something that became the most fulfilling part of her life.

The actor, who has been on a hiatus for the past seven years, spoke with SiriusXM’s Bruce Bozzi during the segment Quarantined with Bruce, and revealed what’s stopping her from getting back into Hollywood.

Answering a question on whether she has plans to make a comeback, she said, “I’m never going to say never about anything in life. I’m just not that person. So will I ever make a movie again? I’m not looking to. But will I? I don’t know. I have no idea.” Diaz explained what factored into her decision, “I couldn’t imagine, being a mom now, where I’m at as a mother with my child at her first year, to have to be on a movie set that takes 14 hours, 16 hours of my day away from my child. I just couldn’t.”
