Nicole Kidman may lose $11 million to Keith Urban over prenup cocaine clause

Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, married since 2006, are reportedly ending their marriage after nearly two decades. The couple share two daughters and have reportedly been living apart since the summer, with Urban touring and Kidman staying with their children.
During filming in London, Kidman rented a Hampstead property. Reports indicate Kidman has filed for divorce.
Attention has turned to a clause in their prenuptial agreement. According to RadarOnline.com, the agreement, signed before their wedding, entitles Urban to USD 600,000 for each year of marriage if he remained sober. This could result in Urban receiving over USD 11 million after the divorce. The clause is reportedly linked to Urban’s past struggles with substance abuse and was included to incentivise sobriety.
They have reportedly lived separately for months, with Urban moving out of their Nashville home. Their last major public appearance was at an AFI tribute, where Urban praised Kidman. These developments and the divorce filing have drawn attention to their personal circumstances and the financial implications of their agreement.
Keith Urban has been open about his struggles with drugs and alcohol. In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Urban credited Kidman with initiating an intervention shortly after their wedding, saying, “She made a decision to turn around and initiate, ultimately, this intervention… I was like, ‘Put the cuffs on, let’s go.'”
Urban has acknowledged the difficulties he faced early in the marriage, stating, “We got married in 2006, and barely four months into our marriage, the addictions that I had done really nothing about blew our marriage to smithereens.” The sobriety clause, designed to support his recovery, is now a focal point in the divorce.
Sources have described Kidman’s reaction to the agreement’s terms. One report states Nicole is “consumed with anger” that Keith stands to collect the full amount, reportedly USD 11.4 million.
