Dream Girl 2 box office: The Ayushmann Khurrana film had a great start at the box office and continues to hold well during the weekdays. The film also starring Ananya Panday collected Rs 7.75 crore on Raksha Bandhan as per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com. It stands at Rs 59.75 crore after six days of its release.
Dream Girl 2 had opened at Rs 10.7 crore and went up to collect Rs 16 crore on its first Sunday. It fell to Rs 5.42 crore on Monday but showed a little improvement on Wednesday with collection of Rs 7.75 crore.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film starring Ayushmann as a call centre guy who can talk like a woman. In Dream Girl 2, he plays Pooja as he dresses up like a woman for money.
Talking about the wonderful performance of his film in the first week, Ayushmann told ANI, ” In the last 3 months, mid-budget and small-budget films are also running successfully. Earlier people used to feel that only big-budget movies would run. So, the timing of the movie is correct and it came in between Jawan and Gadar 2 but still made its own space and this will be the biggest victory of Dream Girl 2. “

Opphenheimer star Cillian Murphy has said he is a huge fan of the 2014 sci-fi movie Interstellar, which stars the likes of Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway.
“I adore Interstellar just because I find it so emotional. I remember seeing it in the cinema when I had little kids. It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart. Gadar 2 box office collection: Sunny Deol’s film enters Rs 300 crore club
Gadar 2, helmed by Anil Sharma, has entered the Rs 300 crore club in India. As per Sacnilk.com, the film earned nearly Rs 20 crore at the domestic box office on the second Friday of its release. Gadar 2 hit the theatres on August 11. According to Sacnilk.com, Gadar 2 earned Rs 19.50 crore nett in India on its eighth day, as per early estimates. Gadar 2 earned Rs 284.63 crore during the first week of its release. So far, the film has earned Rs 304.13 crore at the domestic box office.
The film, which has turned out to be a blockbuster, stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. Earlier this week, the Gadar 2 team held a press conference about the film’s huge success.
Sharing how he initially reacted seeing the audience’s love for Gadar 2, Sunny had said, “I was quite stressed before the release of the movie. When the movie was released, I cried and laughed the entire night. My father was around and he saw me. I told him, ‘I have not had alcohol. Main khush aa main ki kara (I am happy, what can I do)’.”
Film director Anil Sharma spoke about Gadar 3. He had said, “You’ll have to wait for that…Just like this one (Gadar 2). Some thoughts have come to me and Shaktimaan Ji’s (writer of Gadar 2) minds. So just wait everything will happen.”
Gadar 2 is the sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which released in theatres in 2001. In the first film, Sunny played the role of Tara Singh, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel played Sakeena. The film was set during the partition of India in 1947.
Gadar 2 follows Tara as he ventures across the border to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh, who has been captured in Pakistan. It has garnered much love and appreciation from the audience. -

Hrithik-starrer ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ to re-release
To celebrate the 20th release anniversary of “Koi… Mil Gaya”, starring Hrithik Roshan, the makers of the sci-fi hit on Wednesday said the film is set to be re-released in select theatres across the country on August 4.
“Koi… Mil Gaya”, directed by Rakesh Roshan, originally hit the screens on August 8 in 2003 and narrated the story of a developmentally disabled man called Rohit (Hrithik Roshan), who befriends Jadoo, an extraterrestrial being.
Also starring Preity Zinta, Rekha, Prem Chopra and Johnny Lever, the movie will be re-released in PVR INOX screens this Friday across 30 cities in India.
Rakesh Roshan said he hopes the re-release of the film takes the audiences on a nostalgic trip. “The team at PVR INOX reached out to us to celebrate 20 years of ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’. I was happy to know of their plans and jointly decided to re-release the film. The idea is to relive the nostalgia. “We hope the re-release marks to be a family outing with parents taking their kids to cinema halls and introducing the new generation to Jaadoo, while the parents reminisce memories of watching the film 20 years ago,” the veteran filmmaker said in a statement. -
Gal Gadot confirms she will star in ‘Wonder Woman 3’
In an exciting news for fans, Gal Gadot has confirmed that she will be doing Wonder Woman 3 under James Gunn and Peter Safran. In an interaction with ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Gadot talked about her adoration for the “Wonder Woman” series. She also revealed that she would be working with James and Peter for the third installment of the series.
“I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together,” said Gadot. Gadot was the lead star in 2017’s Wonder Woman and its 2020 sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. Both the movies were directed by Patty Jenkins. Chris Pine played the lead actor as Steve Trevor.
Notably, there were speculations that Gadot might not return since Jenkins won’t be at the helm for the third film of “Wonder Woman” series.

Oppenheimer: Christopher Nolan reveals ‘honeymoon in Kyoto’ line was improvised by an actor on set
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer released on July 21 and has since received both critical acclaim as well as box office success. In an interview with The New York Times, Christopher has now revealed that there was a line that was tweaked in last minute by an actor and it also made it into the final cut of the film, which shocked everyone on set.
The scene arrives in a key moment when Cillian Murphy, who plays Oppenheimer, is in the crucial meeting with the U.S. Secretary of War Henry Stimson and other government officials, where they decide which city to drop the atomic bombs in Japan. In the scene that follows, Henry says that they should avoid bombing in Kyoto because it is the place where he and his wife had their honeymoon.
In an interview with The New York Times, Christopher Nolan said, “There’s a moment where James Remar… He kept talking to me about how he learned that Stimson and his wife had honeymooned in Kyoto. That was one of the reasons that Stimson took Kyoto off the list to be bombed. I had him crossing the city off the list because of its cultural significance, but I’m like, ‘Just add that.’ It’s a fantastically exciting moment where no one in the room knows how to react.”
He had earlier also added in the interview that each actor was encouraged to research about their real-life counterpart. “They had tons of homework to do. They had a great resource with ‘American Prometheus.’ They then did their own research and what it meant for me, which isn’t something I’d ever really been able to do in the past… The script is there, but they could come into it with passion and knowledge based on all of their own learning.”
Nolan’s Oppenheimer is based on the book, American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer, the Pulitzer Prize-winning 2006 biography of the theoretical physicist written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin. The biopic, set during World War II, follows Oppenheimer, known as the Father of the Atomic Bomb, during a period in history when he feared that testing the atomic bomb would ignite the atmosphere and destroy the world. It also shows how his rivalry with Lewis Strauss framed his life and career. -
