FESTIVAL SEFARAD DEBUTS IN NYC
- By Mabel Pais
FESTIVAL SEFARAD (festivalsefarad.com) debuts in New York City. It will be a citywide, month-long celebration of the Greater Sefarad world in the month of June 2025.
New York City is home to one of the most diverse and dynamic Jewish communities in the world. After the atrocities of October 7, the need for creating communal, intellectual, and cultural connections that bring all Jews together has never been greater. In response to this need, the American Sephardi Federation (americansephardi.org) is proudly debuting Festival Sefarad NYC — a citywide, month-long celebration of the Greater Sephardi world. Featuring a variety of events with something for everyone — from musical performances and book talks, to exhibitions, tours, and Shabbat dinners — Festival Sefarad NYC will be the first festival of its kind in the U.S.A. This Festival is inspired by and a homage to the CSUQ’s (csuq.org) Festival Séfarad de Montréal (festivalsefarad.ca), now in its 45th season.
In collaboration with over 40 leading communal institutions, Festival Sefarad NYC will unfold across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island, a movable feast ensuring accessibility and welcoming participation from every corner of the Jewish community.
With the support of the UJA-Federation of New York (ujafedny.org), Festival Sefarad NYC is more than a festival. It is a celebration of who Sephardis are, and who Sephardis can be together.
The American Sephardi Federation (ASF – americansephardi.org)
The festival is curated and produced by the American Sephardi Federation, headquartered at the Center for Jewish History. ASF preserves, celebrates, and promotes the history, traditions, and experiences and rich mosaic of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews as an essential part of the Jewish story and a vital component of the American and global Jewish future.

MAESTRO AMJAD ALI KHAN WITH SONS PERFORMS SAROD TRILOGY
- By Mabel Pais
Sarod Maestro AMJAD ALI KHAN accompanied by his two sons, AMAAN ALI BANGASH and AYAAN ALI BANGASH will perform the ‘Sarod Trilogy’ on Friday May 30, 2025 at New York University’s Skirball Center, 566 LaGuardia Place, Manhattan. The performance starts at 8 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. This is a World Music Institute presentation.
Recognized by ‘Songlines’ magazine as “one of the 20th Century’s greatest masters of the sarod”, he has not only preserved the sarod’s legacy but has also enhanced the instrument with new dimensions by skillfully blending innovation with a deep respect for tradition. For this performance, he will be accompanied by his two sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who carry forward the family’s extraordinary musical legacy.
When AMJAD ALI KHAN gave his first recital of Sarod at age 6, it was the beginning of yet another glorious chapter in the history of Indian classical music. Taught by his father Haafiz Ali Khan, Amjad Ali Khan was born to the illustrious Bangash lineage rooted in the Senia Bangash School of music. Today he shoulders the sixth generation of inheritance in this legendary lineage.
The world saw the Sarod being given a new and yet timeless interpretation by Amjad Ali Khan. Khan is one of the few maestros who consider his audience to be the soul of his motivation. He once said, “There is no essential difference between classical and popular music. Music is music. I want to communicate with the listener who finds Indian classical music remote.”
He is a recipient of the UNESCO Award, Padma Vibhushan (Highest Indian civilian award), Unicef’s National Ambassadorship, The Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum and Honorary Doctorates from the Universities of York in 1997, England, Delhi University in 1998, Rabindra Bharati University in 2007, Kolkata and the Vishva Bharti (Deshikottam) in Shantiniketan in 2001. He has represented India in the first World Arts Summit in Venice in 1991, received Honorary Citizenship to several US States and Cities. April 20th, 1984 was declared as Amjad Ali Khan Day in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1995, Mr. Khan awarded the Gandhi UNESCO Medal in Paris for his composition Bapukauns. In 2003,the maestro received “Commander of the Order of Arts and letters” by the French Government and the Fukuoka Cultural grand prize in Japan in 2004.
He has been a regular performer at the Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Kennedy Center, House of Commons, Theater Dela ville, Musee Guimet, ESPLANADE in Singapore, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Chicago Symphony Center, Palais beaux-arts, Mozart Hall in Frankfurt, St. James Palace and the Opera House in Australia.
In his case, the term ‘beauty of the Ragas’ acquires a special meaning as he has to his credit the distinction of having created many new Ragas. It is love for music and his belief in his music that has enabled him to interpret traditional notions of music for a new refreshing way, reiterating the challenge of innovation and yet respecting the timelessness of tradition.
Two books have been written on him: the first titled, ‘The world of Amjad Ali Khan’ by UBS Publishers in 1995 and the second, ‘Abba-God’s Greatest Gift to us’ by his sons, Amaan and Ayaan published by Roli Books-Lustre Publications in 2002. A documentary on Mr. Khan called ‘Strings for Freedom’ won the Bengal Film Journalist Association Award and was also screened at the Ankara Film Festival in 1996.
He is married to wife Suhbhalakshmi Khan, a great exponent of the Indian classical dance, Bharatnatyam. They have two sons: Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. He is a living example of a man who practices integration of love and music in his life. Learn more at sarod.com.
Watch the trio perform – youtu.be/Dv5hdYNiPLU

NJYC PRESENTS ‘SING INTO SPRING’ ANNUAL CONCERT
The New Jersey Youth Chorus (NJYC), a program of Wharton Arts, will present ‘Sing into Spring’ on May 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Ridge Performing Arts Center located at 68 South Finley Avenue in Basking Ridge. The annual spring concert featuring all five NJYC choirs offers a vibrant, moving, and culturally rich program that reflects both the diversity of music and the depth of the choristers’ growth throughout the season.
NJYC’s Founder and Director Trish Joyce said, “Audiences will hear music from across centuries and continents, from traditional spirituals and folk songs to contemporary works by living composers. Highlights include ‘Kuwa Furaha’ by Jim Papoulis, inspired by his work with children in Africa, where joy is expressed through rhythmic clapping and reaching to the sky. ‘The Beat of a Different Drum’ by Sarah Quartel invites singers and audiences alike to celebrate individuality and embrace what makes them unique, while ‘Family Tree’ by Stephen Hatfield poetically links generations through lullaby and memory. The concert also features spirited folk tunes such as the whimsical Scottish tale of Aiken Drum, the American railroad ballad ‘Nine Hundred Miles,’ and the hopeful Georgia Sea Islands spiritual, ‘Yonder Come Day.’ A barbershop-style rendition of ‘I’m Gonna Live Till I Die’ adds upbeat energy, while beautiful lyrical selections like ‘By Night’ by Elaine Hagenberg and ‘Stars Tonight’ by Judith Herrington provide moments of beauty and reflection.”
The ‘Sing into Spring’ concert will showcase the world premiere of ‘Long Ago Back East,’ a new work by Dr. William Linthicum-Blackhorse. Commissioned by Wharton Arts with the generous support of the American Composers’ Forum and Chorus America’s 2024 Dale Warland Singers Commission Grant, the piece is scored for treble voices, flute, strings, and piano. The choral piece honors the legacy of Nora Thompson Dean, one of the last native speakers and indigenous culture-bearers of the Lenape (Unami dialect) language before her death in 1984. Nora Thompson Dean was asked to officially represent the Delaware Nation and give a traditional smudging ceremony while speaking the Unami-Lenape language when the State of Oklahoma officially recognized the contributions of the Lenape people with the opening of the Delaware Room in the state capitol building in 1972. The Delaware Nation of Oklahoma is comprised of the descendants of those who marched the Delaware Trail of Tears and remained in the Oklahoma Indian Territory. New Jersey was once part of the homelands to the Lenape Native American Indian people, also known as the Delaware Tribe.
Dr. William Linthicum-Blackhorse (b.1989) is a multi-ethnic music composer in North America that has been actively commissioned, writing music for ensembles and performers across the globe. He said, “Our elders, from all communities, teach us their important traditions, morals, and values so that we can pass along that knowledge to future generations and do our best to live our lives according to their teachings. This music gives tribute to one of those elders in a beautiful, meaningful way and who better to deliver the message than the children of tomorrow.” Learn more at linthicumblackhorse.com.
‘Sing into Spring’ also serves as a tribute to NJYC’s graduating seniors, many of whom have sung with NJYC for up to 12 years. They will be honored and recognized by the number of years that they have been a part of the program as well as the universities that they will attend in the fall. Their musical journey culminates with a performance of ‘Homage’ by Z. Randall Stroope — a piece based on the composer’s father’s poetry and written in memory of lost loved ones. Graduating seniors will also be honored through senior boards, a beloved tradition displaying each chorister’s photo and personal reflections on their time at NJYC in the concert hall lobby. These tributes give the audience a glimpse into the personal growth, friendships, and transformative power of music choristers experience at NJYC. The concert will conclude with ‘Blessing’ by Katie Moran Bart, sung by the entire chorus and alumni who are invited to join in a final, heartfelt farewell.
TICKETS
Tickets to the concert are available at NJYC.org. Adults pay full price. Students & Seniors get discounts with valid ID.

ALVIN AILEY DANCE COMPANY MAKES NATIONAL TOUR FINALE CELEBRATING MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND AT NJPAC
- By Mabel Pais
ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER (alvinailey.org), one of the world’s most popular dance companies, will return to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Mother’s Day Weekend, Friday-Sunday, May 9-11, 2025, as the finale on its 2025 national tour.

Judith Jamison in John Butler’s Facets (Credit: Jack Mitchell) This season the company celebrates the life and legacy of Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison (1943-2024). Led by Interim Artistic Director Matthew Rushing, the passionate spirit and extraordinary technique of Ailey’s dancers will be showcased in three exciting performances featuring world premieres, new productions, repertory favorites, and Ailey classics.
Other NJPAC activities include Ailey Day — a free community day of dance classes (May 3), a Schooltime Performance for young students (May 9), a special panel discussion paying homage to Judith Jamison (May 9) and this summer, AileyCamp Newark returns July – August, providing students ages 11-14 a life-changing experience through dance and the arts and culminates with a final performance (August 6).

Alvin Ailey Dancers (Credit: Courtesy, njpac.org) Ailey’s 32 dancers include two New Jersey natives: Montclair’s Chalvar Monteiro (chalvarmonteiro.com) and Newark’s Christopher Taylor (ailey.org/people/christopher-taylor); and three AileyCamp alumni: Solomon Dumas, De’Anthony Vaughan and Taylor, who attended the inaugural AileyCamp Newark in 2011.
PROGRAM
This year’s exciting world premieres include: Sacred Songs by Matthew Rushing, former AILEY dancers Jamar Roberts’s Al-Andalus Blues and Hope Boykin’s Finding Free, and Many Angels — the first premiere for the Company by Lar Lubovitch.
‘Sacred Songs’ features music used in the original 1960 premiere of Alvin Ailey’s seminal ‘Revelations’ but later omitted, resurrecting and reimaging those spirituals—with the collaboration of creative associate and musical director Du’Bois A’Keen—as an offering to our present need for lamentation, faith, and joy. To coincide with the tour, A’Keen has released a ‘Sacred Songs Suite’ album featuring his brilliant team of musicians in a live recording of the soundtrack, along with some bonus songs. The spirituals, influenced by the sounds of jazz, West African drums, gospel, hip hop, and calypso, are available to purchase as an album or individually and on all streaming platforms for free.
‘Al-Andalus Blues’ is an abstract ensemble piece that journeys back in time to the golden age of Al-Andalus, evoking the northern African Moors who flourished in the south of present-day Spain prior to the Christian Reconquista. ‘Finding Free’ is an insightful collaboration with pianist Matthew Whitaker’s original score, examining the challenges and restrictions throughout life’s peaks and valleys. ‘Many Angels’ features Lubovitch’s renowned lush choreography and musicality set to Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, meditating on the question by 13th century theologian St. Thomas Aquinas ‘How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?’
Additional productions include a special 25th anniversary production of Ronald K. Brown’s spellbinding ‘Grace.’ Set to Duke Ellington’s classic ‘Come Sunday,’ Peven Everett’s hit ‘Gabriel,’ and the irresistible pulse of Fela Kuti’s Afro-Pop, ‘Grace’ depicts individuals on a journey to the promised land, expanding from a single angel-like figure in white to the fireball intensity of 12 powerful dancers. In addition to ‘Grace,’ another favorite returning to the AILEY stage is Elisa Monte’s ‘Treading,’ a sculptural, mesmerizing duet featuring fluid, intricate movements that combine with Steve Reich’s evocative music to create an aura of mystery and sensuality.
Newark audiences will be inspired by the power of Alvin Ailey’s must-see American masterpiece ‘Revelations,’ acclaimed around the world for sending hearts soaring and lifting audiences to their feet with its perfect blend of reverent grace and spiritual elation. Since its debut in 1960, ‘Revelations’ has been moving audiences with its powerful storytelling and soul-stirring music, evoking timeless themes of determination, hope, and transcendence. An intimate reflection of Mr. Ailey’s childhood memories of growing up in the South and attending services at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Texas, ‘Revelations’ pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of the African American community and explores the emotional spectrum of the human condition.
The compelling story of the life, work, and legacy of Alvin Ailey is also the subject of ‘Portrait of Ailey,’ a new eight-part documentary series available for free on PBS LearningMedia. Created by Ailey II Artistic Director Emerita Sylvia Waters, ‘Portrait of Ailey’ uses rare historical film and still images as well as contemporary footage to create a sweeping narrative of Mr. Ailey as a performer, choreographer, celebrity, teacher, social activist, arts advocate, and the creator of an enduring institution. All eight chapters are currently available online, including a spotlight on Mr. Ailey’s muse, Judith Jamison (‘The Whole Dancer’ – ny.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/alvin-ailey-the-whole-dancer-video/portrait-of-ailey – chapter).

In partnership with AILEY Arts In Education & Community Programs, NJPAC founded this six-week program for Newark kids in 2011. More than a dance program, AileyCamp provides young people a safe space to develop their self-esteem, creative expression, and critical thinking skills, ultimately helping them reach their unlimited potential. The 2025 summer camp culminates with a special performance by the students on the NJPAC stage on Wednesday, August 6 at 7pm.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (ailey.org), recognized by U.S. Congressional resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” grew from a now-fabled March 1958 performance in New York that changed forever the perception of American dance. Forged during a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement, the Company was established to uplift the African American experience while transcending boundaries of race, faith, and nationality with its universal humanity. Founded by Alvin Ailey, the posthumous recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom — the nation’s highest civilian honor. Before his untimely death in 1989, Mr. Ailey named Judith Jamison as his successor, and for 21 years she led the Company to unprecedented success. For more information, visit ailey.org.

Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick reunite in London amid feud rumors
Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are squashing feud rumors with a joint appearance in London, England to celebrate the premiere of Another Simple Favor. The movie is the sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor, a thriller that follows single mom Stephanie (Kendrick) and her glamorous friend Emily (Lively). In the trailer for the follow-up film, the duo reunite for a wedding in Capri, Italy, where it seems their dramatic push-and-pull “friendship” will continue apace.
Another Simple Favor made its official debut South by Southwest last month, with Lively later comparing the premiere to a “rock concert.”
“Thank you to the very best audience. Texas turns it out,” she wrote on Instagram. “Making this movie was already the gift, every element of it. To share it with you all and feel the love returned to us was the best feeling. Thank you for having us Austin.”
Aside from her promotional tour for Another Simple Favor, Lively is simultaneously in the middle of a legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. After filing multiple lawsuits, the pair are currently preparing for their day in court, which is set for March 9, 2026.
Kendrick, meanwhile, is “not used to being caught up in any drama” and was reportedly “upset” by the online negativity surrounding the film, as some fans pledged to not to see the movie because of Lively. “The comments on Instagram have upset her, especially the ones saying fans are now refusing to watch the movie because they don’t want to support Blake,” an insider told People.
As for her supposed feud with Lively, however, it seems the pair have successfully put the rumors to rest. “There is no drama,” a source recently told E! News. “They are not enemies. They are coworkers; friends and get along well.” -
CONVERSATIONS ABOUT DEMOCRACY IN NJ AND ACROSS THE US
- By Mabel Pais
On April 16, a day of programming dedicated to examining the state of democracy in New Jersey and across the United States will be hosted by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice and The Fund for New Jersey and held at NJPAC at the Chase Room.
America—and New Jersey—are experiencing a moment of transition, one that may profoundly change our country for years to come.
And those changes will have a unique impact on all New Jerseyans, especially those of color.
This day of conversations, presentations, speeches and panel discussions — across two distinct but related events at NJPAC — will examine the current state of American democracy through the lens of civic, social and racial justice, with a special focus on the issues most important to New Jersey.
SESSION I – 1-5 PM
Sherrilyn Ifill, esteemed civil rights lawyer and former leader of NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF), will open the afternoon event

Sherrilyn Ifill (Photo : Courtesy, njpac.org) ‘Doubling Down on Democracy: Conversations about the Way Forward’ (njpac.org/event/doubling-down-on-democracy-forum) with a keynote address at 1PM. She is a respected attorney, scholar, thought leader and author whose forthcoming book, ‘Is this America?’ (Penguin), deals with race and the pressures reshaping American democracy.
This being an afternoon of conversation and clarity, Ifill’s speech will be followed by two panel discussions, exploring this moment in the American experiment. Lunch is included.
Immigration Panel
The first panel will discuss immigration, and the impact of new federal policies governing deportation and naturalization.
Democracy Panel
After a short break, the panel reconvenes for a deep dive into the state of democracy in New Jersey, examining the Garden State’s laws and policies regarding voting rights, ballot design, the census and more.
“At The Fund for New Jersey, we believe democracy thrives when all voices are heard and empowered to confront the pressing issues of our time,” says Brandon McKoy, President of The Fund for New Jersey. “We are proud to support this NJPAC event, which fosters dynamic and interactive discussions that create space to reflect on our democracy and engage with leaders and policy experts shaping its future.
With New Jersey’s decisions carrying national significance this year, it is more important than ever for voters to be informed, engaged and ready to make choices that address the needs and challenges facing all of our communities.”
This event will conclude at 5PM.
TICKETS
Tickets for Session I can be purchased at njpac.org/event/doubling-down-on-democracy-forum. Lunch is included.
SESSION II – 6:30 PM

NJ Gubernatorial Race (Photo : Courtesy, njpac.org) New Jersey is one of two states (the other is Virginia) scheduled to hold gubernatorial elections in 2025 and campaigning is taking place amid rapid changes introduced by a new presidential administration. The results of these off-year elections in the Garden State are often considered a bellwether for broader national elections.
The conversation will continue at 6:30PM with a free ‘social justice forum’ (njpac.org/event/the-race-for-nj-governor-social-justice-candidate-forum)
featuring candidates running for Governor in New Jersey.
All of the candidates campaigning for Governor were invited. Six will appear at this event: Mayor of Newark Ras J. Baraka, NJ State Sen. Jon Bramnick, Mayor of Jersey City Steven Fulop, U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill, New Jersey Education Association Pres. Sean Spiller and former NJ Senate Pres. Steve Sweeney.
This bipartisan group of candidates will share their perspectives on a range of important social justice topics.
“NJPAC has always been proud to serve as a town square, where the residents of our city and our state gather to discuss the issues that matter most to us all,” says John Schreiber, President and CEO of the Arts Center.
“During the last two gubernatorial elections, NJPAC hosted debates between candidates. This election season, we’re pleased to present this unique chance for voters to meet multiple candidates and hear their views on important issues before the June primaries.
New Jerseyans have a big decision to make, and talking directly to those who hope to lead us is the best way for voters to make an informed decision.”
“We are facing a democracy crisis in America, and it’s essential that we build and exercise power from the ground up here in New Jersey,” says Ryan Haygood, President & CEO of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice. “We are excited to partner with NJPAC, The Fund for New Jersey and others on a day of programming that will engage New Jerseyans on the pressing social and racial justice issues of the day, including by hearing from gubernatorial candidates for the upcoming election.”
REGISTRATION
Session II is free to attend but advance registration is required. RSVP at njpac.org/event/the-race-for-nj-governor-social-justice-candidate-forum/#register

By Mabel Pais
The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will celebrate the birthday of New Jersey Governor Thomas H. Kean with a dinner and evening of musical theater at 5:30 PM on his 90th birthday, April 21, 2025.
PROGRAM
The Broadway Birthday Salute Honoring Gov. Thomas H. Kean will include dinner on the Betty Wold Johnson stage in NJPAC’s Prudential Hall, and a performance by quartet of the musical theater world’s brightest young stars presenting songs by New Jersey’s most beloved Broadway composers and lyricists, including Jerry Herman (Showboat), Jerome Kern (Hello, Dolly!) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked).
GOV KEAN & NJPAC
Governor Kean first imagined creating an Arts Center in downtown Newark more than a generation ago, during his second term in office. This special evening, curated by leading Broadway musical director, conductor and pianist Andy Einhorn (currently leading the orchestra for Gypsy at the Majestic Theatre), is a tribute to Governor Kean’s service to the citizens of New Jersey and his lifelong love of musical theater.
“New Jersey has been blessed to have a passionate and committed advocate for the arts in Governor Kean, who has always believed that everyone in New Jersey deserves the opportunity to experience and benefit from the arts,” says John Schreiber, NJPAC’s President and CEO. “We couldn’t be more grateful to the Governor for inventing and supporting the Arts Center, and we’re thrilled to be able to celebrate this landmark occasion with him.”
The performance will feature four acclaimed young Broadway stars including:
Christine “Christy” Altomare, who made her Broadway debut as Sophie in ‘Mamma Mia!’ and originated the title role in the premiere Broadway production of ‘Anastasia.’
Nicholas Christopher, who made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of ‘Motown: The Musical,’ performed in the Broadway revival of ‘Miss Saigon’ and portrayed George Washington in ‘Hamilton.’
Mandy Gonzalez, who originated the role of Nina Rosario in Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of ‘In the Heights.’ She has since played Elphaba in the Broadway production of ‘Wicked,’ Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway production of ‘Hamilton,’ and is starring as Norma Desmond in the current revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Sunset Boulevard.’
Zachary Noah Piser, who originated the role of Spenser in both the La Jolla Playhouse and Broadway productions of the current hit musical Redwood. He’s also been seen in the musicals Kpop, Dear Evan Hansen and Wicked.
ARTS FUNDRAISER
In addition to honoring Governor Kean, the evening will serve as a fundraiser for NJPAC’s extensive social impact programming, including its arts education programs that reach almost 50,000 children and families every year, community engagement programs that offer more than 200 free events and performances across Greater Newark each season, and Arts & Well-Being initiatives that deliver everyone access to the healing power of the arts through efforts like in-hospital performances and one of the nation’s first arts-on-prescription programs.
TICKETS
Both tables and individual tickets to attend the celebration are available. To reserve tickets or inquire about sponsorship opportunities, visit NJPAC’s website at njpac.org/event/kean or contact Stacey Joseph at sjoseph@njpac.org.

Robert Pattinson in talks to play shadowy antagonist against Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Astreidis in Dune 3
Actor Robert Pattinson might just be the latest addition to the stellar star cast of Dune 3. Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is all set to return with Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh in the final part of the super hit movie franchise. The filming is set to begin this summer and recent reports suggest that Robert is in early talks to join and play a pivotal role. According to a news report in Deadline, the Batman star is being considered to play the antagonist in Dune 3, an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1969 book Dune: Messiah. Robert is reportedly being eyed to play Scytale, a shadowy, shape shifting figure who conspires to take over Paul Atreidis, character played by Timothée in the Oscar winning franchise.
Following the massive success of Dune: Part 2, which earned USD 12 billion and a combined eight Oscars from 15 nominations, Legendary studio confirmed that development on Dune 3 was officially underway.
In a previous interview with Vanity Fair, director Denis clarified that the Dune franchise won’t go ahead after the threequel. He said, “It’s important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych. It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That’s done and that’s finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it’s not like a trilogy. It’s strange to say that, but if I go back there, it’s to do something that feels different and has its own identity.”
Robert is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey. He has recently wrapped A24 film The Drama, which also stars Zendaya. He also finished Lynne Ramsay’s film Die, My Love in which he stars opposite Jennifer Lawrence. The film is slated to release later this year. -

A PEEK INTO SOME ARTICLES OF ‘IN THE LEAD’
Some of the articles of note are ‘Quantum Leap’ by Reena Dayal Yadav, ‘Real Estate’s Next Frontier’ by Pay Wu, and ‘The Heart of Innovation’ by Apurv Gupta.
Reena Dayal Yadav – Article: ‘Quantum Leap’

Reena Dayal Yadav (Credit : shu.edu) In the article ‘Quantum Leap’ by Reena Dayal Yadav, founder CEO for QET Council of India, she writes on building innovation pathways and shaping the future of quantum technology in India. In her article she emphasizes “building innovation pathways and shaping the future of quantum technology in India.”
“Innovation occurs at various spheres of influence — at an individual level, within companies, across industries, or even at the ecosystem level in a country. It can arise naturally and spontaneously from human ingenuity, emerge out of necessity, or, in the case of industries, be spurred by competition, the desire to carve new niches, or disrupt markets altogether.”
“In emerging technologies, understanding ecosystems and using Innovation Management strategies play a key role in shaping how these technologies develop and at what speed.”
“With a career spanning three decades, I have spent two of those focusing on innovation management, particularly in emerging technologies. This work has involved different spheres of influence, but for the past decade or so, my primary focus has been on emerging technology ecosystems.”
Pay Wu – Article: ‘Real Estate’s Next Frontier’
‘Real Estate’s Next Frontier’ by Pay Wu, co-founder of MWBE Unite Inc., writes on redefining spaces for changing society by creating inclusive and sustainable communities.
Pay Wu is an executive who excels at strategy and execution. In 2022, she co-founded MWBE Unite Inc., a 100 percent minority and female-owned firm focused on increasing supplier diversity and workforce diversity in commercial real estate. She led the outsourcing business for Cushman & Wakefield in the East region, and has been an executive leader at Deloitte, American Express and TD Bank. In 2020, she was named a “Woman of Influence” by Globe Street.
In her article, ‘‘Real Estate’s Next Frontier,’ Wu states that “Real Estate is a cornerstone of the economy contributing nearly 20 percent to the US gross domestic product. Its significance extends beyond asset value, playing a crucial role in the tax base of municipalities. However, the COVID-19 pandemic sparked extensive debate about the industry’s downward trajectory, driven in part by digitization and online transformations that are redefining the purpose of physical spaces. While market discussions often center on declining valuations, they also reveal opportunities for renewal and reinvention.”
Apurv Gupta – Article: ‘The Heart of Innovation’

Dr. Apurv Gupta (Credit : shu.edu) APURV GUPTA, physician, is the founder of ‘A Loving Organization Consortium’ and an advisor to the ‘Trustworthy Technology and Innovation Consortium.’
He is Vice President of Medical Intelligence 10.
In his article, ‘The Heart of Innovation’ (Case Study) looks at how empathy, compassion and human connection drive organizational growth.
He says, “In a loving organization, employees can express ideas without fear of judgment or failure. This is a breeding ground for innovation and encourages experimentation and learning from mistakes.”
He continues, “LOVE AND innovation are seemingly disparate concepts. On the surface, love is an emotional, human experience, while innovation suggests a mechanical, cerebral process focused on problem-solving and improvement.”
“However, when we drive deeper, we discover that love fuels innovation, while innovation amplifies our ability to express and experience love. Together they are instrumental in shaping human progress, fostering creativity, and enhancing well-being.”
The Buccino Leadership Institute
Buccino Leadership Institute develops leaders who aren’t afraid to speak truth to power and who serve before they are asked to be served. Their confidence is recognizable and their vision contagious. That’s what it means to be a Seton Hall leader.

In the article ‘Quantum Leap’ by Reena Dayal Yadav, founder CEO for QET Council of India, she writes on building innovation pathways and shaping the future of quantum technology in India.
However the COVID-19 pandemic sparked extensive debate about the industry’s downward trajectory, driven in part by digitization and online transformations that are redefining the purpose of physical spaces. While market discussions often center on declining valuations, they also reveal opportunities for renewal and reinvention.”
Apurv Gupta – Article: ‘The Heart of Innovation’
APURV GUPTA, physician, is the founder of ‘A Loving Organization Consortium’ and an advisor to the ‘Trustworthy Technology and Innovation Consortium.’
“However when we drive deeper, we discover that love fuels innovation, while innovation amplifies our ability to express and experience love. Together they are instrumental in shaping human progress, fostering creativity, and enhancing well-being.”
The Buccino Leadership Institute
