Actor Jennifer Lopez was recently denied entry to a Chanel store in Istanbul. She was stopped at the door by a security guard, claiming the boutique was full, as reported by Trkiey Today. After walking away, Lopez was later seen shopping at other stores in the city, including rival luxury brands.
During her recent visit to Istanbul, after being prevented from entering the store, the actor-siner cordially replied, “Okay, no problem,” and left. Later, pictures of Lopez, 56, surfaced on social media in which she is seen in a baby pink set with matching sunglasses, while shopping at Istanbul’s Istinye Park.
However, later realising their mistake, the store’s employees reportedly approached the actor-pop icon with an invitation to come back, which she declined. Lopez redirected her shopping spree to nearby rival luxury brands. She spent tens of thousands of dollars at fashion houses such as Celine and Beymen.
Lopez was in Turkey’s largest city for her performance at Yenikapi Festival Park during the Istanbul Festival on August 5, 2025. She has been busy with her ‘Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour’, which will wrap up on August 12 in Sardinia, Italy.
The Istanbul stop was the ‘Unstoppable’ actor’s second visit to Turkey on the tour. On July 23, 2025, she performed at Regnum Carya Resort Hotel. She celebrated her birthday there, a day after the show.
Lopez was last seen in the biographical sports-drama ‘Unstoppable’ (2024). The film was directed by William Goldenberg and also featured Jharrel Jerome, Michael Pena, Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale, Mykelti Williamson, Shawn Hatosy and others i key roles.

Actor Emma Watson, who shot to fame for playing Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise, has been banned from driving for six months, after she was caught speeding. As per a report by BBC, the actor has been made to pay a total of £1,044 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court for breaking the law.
The report pointed out that Emma drove a blue Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford in July last year. The speeding incident occurred when the actor had nine points on her license.
At the High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court hearing, Emma was not present. Her representatives attended on behalf of the actor. Moreover, the actor’s lawyer Mark Haslam told the court that she is a student. “She is in a position to pay the fine,” he added. The 35-year-old actor has been studying at Oxford since 2023.
Her decision to focus on academia and pursue her passion for learning has led her to enrol in a graduate degree program at Oxford. Actor Scarlett Johansson has once again achieved a new feat with the worldwide success of ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’. Four years post her exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with ‘Black Widow’, she is breaking new grounds with her recent box office milestone.

Johansson has surpassed her MCU co-stars Samuel L Jackson and Robert Downey Jr as the highest-grossing Hollywood actor, as reported by The Wrap. ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ earned $318 million globally, within the first six days of its theatrical release.

According to The Numbers, the opening collection of the film has given the actor a lifetime career box office gross of $14.8 billion among films where she plays the lead role. ‘The Avengers’ franchise and ‘Captain America: Civil War’ have contributed to more than $8.7 billion of her box office earnings. Her other ensemble roles include her MCU debut ‘Iron Man 2’ and two animated ‘Sing’ films where she did the voiceover for the rock-loving porcupine Ash.

In the data by The Numbers about highhest-grossing actors, the only one who hasn’t acted in an MCU film is Tom Hanks. Others mentioned in the list include Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Jackson (Nick Fury) and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord). Downey Jr has $14.2 billion in leading roles, with approximately $11.8 billion coming from his nine Marvel movies.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ shows Johannson taking over from Chris Pratt as the lead star of the dinosaur franchise. She plays an ex-military operative Zora Bennett in a mission to one of the few remaining islands where dinosaurs still live following the events of the ‘Jurassic World’ trilogy.

Actor Brad Pitt has warned young actors about the pressures of the film industry, advising them not to get caught up in this trend of working on a superhero film or franchise, cautioning that such roles can limit their creative potential.

Brad spoke about the thing when he joined Travis and Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast during his F1 promotional tour.

Brad said, “I like watching what the new generation is coming in with. I like to see what they are up against and the way they negotiate and work their way through it. They enjoy it more. We were more uptight, and it had to be about acting… like, you didn’t sell out, you didn’t sell out”.

He added, “But now it’s like, ‘We can be artists in many different arenas, so let’s do it and let’s enjoy it.’ But they also get caught up in you ‘have to have a franchise’ or ‘have to have a superhero.’ But I keep saying, ‘Don’t! Don’t! They’ll die”.

The actor feels getting sucked up in franchise fare or comic book movies can lead to exhaustion for young actors.

While Brad had a cameo in Deadpool 2, he has avoided superhero movies. He has also steered clear of big Hollywood franchises outside of his Ocean’s trilogy with George Clooney and Matt Damon.

The first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Greek mythology film, ‘The Odyssey’ has leaked online. Although the critically acclaimed filmmaker wanted to release it only in cinemas, like he did with ‘Oppenheimer’, fans with smartphones recorded it anyway. The trailer was intended to debut exclusively in theatres, but clips quickly appeared on TikTok and YouTube. Universal Pictures actively removed most videos using copyright strikes, but not before fans got a glimpse of Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Matt Damon.

The trailer opens with a wide shot of the sea and a rough voiceover saying, “Darkness. Zeus’ law was broken. A kingdom without a king since my master died. He knew the war was unwinnable. Yet somehow, he won.”

The scene then shows Holland as Telemachus, son of Odysseus, who is on a mission to find his missing father. He talks with Jon Bernthal’s character, whose role is still unknown. Holland says, “I have to find out what happened to my father.” Bernthal replies, “Interested in rumours? Gossip. Who has a story about Odysseus?” Then he asks the crowd, “You? You have a story?”

Based on Homer’s classic ‘The Odyssey’, the film follows Odysseus’ journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. It shows his famous Trojan Horse trick and the long, dangerous trip filled with monsters like the Cyclops.

Shot entirely on IMAX cameras, ‘The Odyssey’ is Nolan’s biggest and most expensive film yet, with a USD 250 million (approx Rs 2143 crore) budget. Filming is happening in Greece, Morocco, and Italy, staying true to the story’s Mediterranean setting.

‘The Odyssey’ is set to release worldwide in theatres on July 17, 2026.
