Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness officially finalise divorce

Actor Hugh Jackman and his estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness finalised their divorce, confirmed multiple US news outlets. Their divorce was finalised just one month after she filed it to formally end their decades-long marriage, as per E! News. Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman were married for 27 years. They had two children together– daughter Ava and son Oscar.
According to online court records from New York’s Suffolk County Supreme Court, the divorce judgment was officially filed on June 12. It was later uploaded to the court’s official website on June 23. As reported by People magazine, the case is now listed as “disposed” on the website, meaning it has been officially closed.
Deborra was the one to approach authorities in New York and officially filed for divorce from him, as per the documents obtained by the outlet.
In the divorce petition filed in New York, dated May 23, she mentioned that the terms of their divorce had already been settled, which most likely fast-forwarded the procedure.
Deborra-Lee Furness’ lawyer, Elena Karabatos, filed legal documents requesting that her health care coverage continue and a medical child support order be issued, as per records shared by the Daily Mail. The attorney also completed the New York State child support registry form, a proposed divorce judgment, and the official certificate of dissolution.
Hugh Jackman, 56, and Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, had announced their separation back in September 2023 via a joint statement shared with E! News.
It said, “Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.” The couple tied the knot in 1996. They met on the set of an Australian television series and fell in love.
Hugh and Deborra had shared that their family would remain their “highest priority” despite the separation. Requesting privacy as they adjusted to this new phase in their lives, they also added, “We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

  • Scarlett Johansson says she felt cagey working with enormous Marvel cast

Scarlett Johansson says she felt cagey working with enormous Marvel cast

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson opened up about challenges while working with a massive ensemble cast on the sets of Marvel films. Scarlett played Natasha Romanoff in films including The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and her solo spin-off, Black Widow. The actor said that working with an enormous cast made her feel that she wasn’t doing any engaging work as an actor.
The 40-year-old actor in a conversation with Interview magazine said, “Some of the films that I did for Marvel engaged my character more than others. Like in Captain America: The Winter Soldier with Chris (Evans), we were really dynamic,” she said.
“In some of the other films, the cast was so enormous and there was so much plot to serve that you start to feel like you’re a device to move it along. And if you’re committed to five and a half months of that, it’s like, ‘Okay. I can’t paint my nails, I can’t get a haircut.’ These sound like silly problems, but your identity is wrapped up in this job for a long time, and if you’re not doing engaging work as an actor, you feel a little cagey sometimes,” she added.

  • How Sandra Bullock turned Dakota Johnson’s infamous Razzie win for Madame Web into something positive

How Sandra Bullock turned Dakota Johnson’s infamous Razzie win for Madame Web into something positive

Rumors have been swirling that Dakota Johnson and Coldplay’s Chris Martin have ended their eight-year relationship. Adding to a challenging few months, Dakota also took home a Razzie Award for her role in Madame Web (2024), a film that failed to impress audiences and critics alike. In a recent episode of Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, Johnson opened up about a surprising message she received from none other than Sandra Bullock. The Hollywood icon reached out after Dakota’s Razzie win for Worst Actress, an infamous award that Bullock herself once won.
“I recently actually exchanged texts — well, I got a voice note — from Sandra Bullock, because I don’t know if you know, but I won the Razzie for Worst Actress,” Johnson revealed. “There’s a lot of good people who have won that… but Sandra Bullock sent me a voice note, being like ‘I heard you are in the Razzie club and we should have brunch, we should have a monthly brunch.’ Because I guess she won that the year that she won the Oscar as well. It was in the same year, I think.” Johnson shared how special the message felt: “I freaked out getting this message from her because she’s so iconic to me, as like a movie star. I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I was just crazy.”
The Razzie sweep wasn’t just a blow to Johnson personally; Madame Web itself was a major disappointment, taking home Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay awards. The film, which stars Johnson as Cassandra Webb — a paramedic who gains precognitive abilities after a near-death experience — fell flat with audiences. Earlier, Dakota stood firm in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, asserting that the film’s failure was not her fault.

  • Tom Cruise to finally get an Oscar, 35 years after his first nomination

Tom Cruise to finally get an Oscar, 35 years after his first nomination

Thirty-five years after Tom Cruise received his first Oscar nomination, he’s finally getting a trophy. It’s not for his death-defying stunts, either. At least, not exclusively.
Cruise, choreographer Debbie Allen and “Do The Right Thing” production designer Wynn Thomas have all been selected to receive honorary Oscar statuettes at the annual Governors Awards, the film academy said Tuesday. Dolly Parton will also be recognized with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her decades-long charitable work in literacy and education.
Most recipients of the prize historically have not yet won a competitive Oscar themselves. Cruise, 62, has been nominated four times, twice for best actor in “Born on the Fourth of July” and “Jerry Maguire,” once for supporting actor in “Magnolia” and once for best picture with “Top Gun: Maverick.” He’s also championed theatrical moviegoing and big-scale Hollywood production through the coronavirus pandemic.
Yang spotlighted Cruise’s “incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunts community.” Allen, 75, has never been nominated for an Oscar. But the multi-hyphenate entertainer — she also acts and produces — has played an integral role in the Oscars show, having choreographed seven ceremonies over the years. Four of those were nominated for prime-time Emmy awards.
A nomination had also eluded Thomas, a leading production designer whose films have often gone on to best picture nominations and even one win, for Ron Howard’s “A Beautiful Mind.” Thomas is most known for his long-term collaboration with filmmaker Spike Lee, from “She’s Gotta Have It” and “Malcolm X” through “Da 5 Bloods.”
Parton has been nominated twice for best original song, for “9 to 5” and, in 2006, “Travelin’ Thru” from the film “Transamerica.” But her honor celebrates her humanitarian efforts over the years, through organizations like the Dollywood Foundation and the literary program “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.”

  • Daniel Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc in the newest Knives Out mystery trailer

Daniel Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc in the newest Knives Out mystery trailer

If there’s one thing OTT has mastered, it’s turning murder mysteries into comfort food. Knives Out — the now-iconic whodunnit series crafted by Rian Johnson — has managed to stay razor-sharp through its clever storytelling, absurdly rich characters, and the ever-charismatic presence of Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc. Now, the long-awaited trailer for the third film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, has finally dropped, and it’s everything fans had hoped for, and then some. This time, Benoit Blanc isn’t just solving another murder — he’s entering a whole new tone. With a slightly rugged new look and that unmistakable Southern drawl, Craig returns to anchor what appears to be a darker, more gothic entry in the franchise. As always, he’s backed by an all-star cast: Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church are all set to appear, adding major star power to this next mystery.
The internet, as expected, had a lot to say. Reddit lit up the moment the trailer hit screens, with reactions ranging from hyped to emotional. “Southern Gothic Knives Out? Fuck yeah I’m in,” declared one user, perfectly summing up the collective mood. Another said, “I’m happy to see the tonal shift from movie to movie. I wasn’t a fan of Glass Onion. It was a little too on the nose for me, but I recognise a lot of people enjoyed it. Hoping to enjoy the third one as much as I did the first — this trailer certainly does much more to appeal to my tastes.” One comment read, “Love all the previous movies in this franchise; can’t wait to see what they do with this one.”
Another fan added, “I’m digging the murder mystery genre lately. Between this and the Brannagh Poirot movies, I have been spoiled.” Still, perhaps the highest praise came from a fan reflecting on Daniel Craig’s post-Bond career: “Daniel Craig could do this series for the rest of his life and I wouldn’t complain… love that he’s found his niche so quickly after his long stint as 007. I don’t think any other James Bond actor has ever found such a compelling franchise after 007 like Craig has, very impressive ??.”
Knives Out began with a simple but delightfully twisted premise: a wealthy crime novelist dies on his 85th birthday, and everyone in the family is a suspect. The 2019 original was both a tribute to Agatha Christie-style mysteries and a clever social satire, earning critical acclaim and box office success.
Its sequel, Glass Onion, took Benoit Blanc to a Greek island for a tech billionaire’s murder-mystery party that turns fatally real. While some fans found it too on-the-nose, others praised its playful critique of the ultra-rich and clueless.
Now, with Wake Up Dead Man, it seems Johnson is once again shifting gears — taking us deeper into darker territory while maintaining the franchise’s ridiculously enjoyable plotting. And thank goodness, because murder has never looked so good!

Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness hints at ‘betrayal’ as she files for divorce after 2 years of separation

Following 2 years of separation, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’ official divorce proceedings are finally under way. In her first formal address of the situation, in an exclusive statement to Daily Mail, Deborra details her ebb and flow of healing, especially after having withstood “betrayal”.
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. However I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us. This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage”, she reflects, having “gained much knowledge and wisdom” as she navigates this new phase of her life.
Calling the demise of her 27-year long marriage with Hugh, “a profound wound that cuts deep”, she adds, “Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom”.
Her one big takeaway? — “…none of this is personal”.
She elaborates, “We are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random. We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves…I remain grateful”. Hugh and Deborra tied the knot on April 11, 1996. After 27 years of marriage, the duo announced the news of their separation in September 2023. Their exclusive statement to PEOPLE read, “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth”. Hugh and Deborra share children Oscar, 24, and Ava 19, the former having been adopted in 2000 and the latter in 2005.
As far as Hugh’s healing goes, he was spotted hand-in-hand, in what appeared to be a lowkey Santa Monica dinner date with his Music Man co-star Sutton Foster, earlier this year in January.

Tom Cruise hints at end of Mission Impossible franchise

Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ is setting the cash registers ringing. At this time, the actor hinted at the film being the last one in the franchise. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he responded to a question about the end of the film’s franchise, which fuelled speculation.
The change from its original name, ‘Dead Reckoning Part 2’, has already raised eyebrows amongst fans, hinting at a possible conclusion to Ethan Hunt’s high-stakes journey. With Cruise’s recent remarks fuelling the buzz, could this truly be the final mission for the iconic spy?
The premiere of ‘Mission Impossible 8’ took place last week at the Cannes Film Festival, followed by a limited release in select countries, including India, Japan, and Korea. On the Cannes red carpet, Tom Cruise spoke to The Hollywood Reporter. As the interview wrapped up, the host remarked, “I’d want everyone to see this movie. Maybe the final reckoning, maybe not, but what,” at which point Cruise jumped in, saying, “It’s the final,” and added, “It’s not called final for nothing.”
The possible confirmation has sparked mixed reactions amongst fans. Some praised Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie for giving the franchise a proper send-off, while others are saddened by the idea of bidding farewell to Ethan Hunt. “This is good. Tom can’t keep doing this in a wheelchair,” one fan joked, referencing Cruise’s age. Another said, “It’s better to end it before it goes downhill.” On the other hand, a hopeful fan shared, “I wish these films never end. They could bring in someone new, like they do with Bond.” During the same interview on the Cannes red carpet, Tom Cruise said, “I actually said I am going to make movies into my 80s; actually, I am going to make them into my 100s. I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films, I am excited.” However, he didn’t clarify whether this included more ‘Mission Impossible’ films.

Jennifer Lopez sued for posting paparazzi pictures of herself

Singer-actor Jennifer Lopez is being sued for posting paparazzi pictures of herself at a Hollywood party on her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. A BBC report claims that damages worth $150K are being sought per photo by the photographer and his paparazzi agency.
Photographer Edwin Blanco and his agency, Backgrid, claim that Jennifer used the pictures without their permission. She posted pictures of herself arriving at the Amazon MGM Studios and Vanity Fair Party in Los Angeles the night before the Golden Globes in January. Both Edwin and Backgrid have filed lawsuits against her, claiming copyright for two photos she posted.
They argued that the pictures were used “to promote Ms Lopez’s public appearances, boost user engagement, increase shareability, and lend credibility to her branded content.” JLo posted the pictures on her social media with the caption “GG Weekend Glamour,” and they were re-shared by numerous fans and fashion pages, states the publication. She was dressed in a white dress and a matching faux fur coat outside of Chateau Marmont.
The lawsuits reportedly said, “Ms Lopez’s unauthorised use of the Images is commercial in nature, intended for the purpose of self-promotion. For example, Ms Lopez used the Images to spotlight the designer of her clothing and jewellery, leveraging the publicity from the event to promote her fashion affiliations and brand partnerships.”
This is not the first time JLo has faced legal action for sharing photos without permission. She was also sued in 2019 and 2020 for doing the same. Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid and Khloe Kardashian have also faced similar legal complaints in the past. The legal documents also reportedly state that Backgrid and Edwin contacted the singer-actor’s representatives to agree on a deal and payment for the pictures, but she did not sign the agreement.

“I think having a partner who understands this industry and adjacent industries like music industry has been really deeply important and profound for my life and for our partnership because he just understands when I’m working crazy long hours,” she shared.
On the flip side, Jessica explained that she returns the same level of understanding to Justin when his schedule gets hectic. “Works all night long,” she said of the singer’s late hours. “That’s kind of normal. Superman: James Gunn ready to make Man of Steel the focal point again

The trailer of James Gunn-directed ‘Superman’ is out, just days after teasing the Man of Steel’s battle in the Comic-Con footage, where he appeared blood-soaked and lifeless as his dog Krypto took the spotlight. On May 14, DC’s official YouTube channel shared a nearly three-minute trailer showing David Corenswet’s Superman being interviewed after his heroic acts are questioned. This time, Superman is in deep trouble after acting as a representative for the United States to stop a full-scale war. The trailer begins with Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan finally meeting Superman eye-to-eye for an interview, where she says he has come under a lot of fire. Superman replies that he stopped a war.
The trailer shows Superman in the middle of a battlefield, having entered a country illegally without consulting the President or anyone else, intending only to do good. The following chaos includes Superman falling hard and being saved by fellow citizens. Nicholas Hoult is introduced as the film’s antagonist, Lex Luthor.
This is the first film from the franchise since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013) and officially kicks off Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe, previously titled Superman: Legacy. The trailer features Krypto the Superdog, who rescues an injured Superman and drags him to the Fortress of Solitude. • Blake Lively ‘threatened’ Taylor Swift with private texts: Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively ‘threatened’ Taylor Swift with private texts: Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively has reportedly threatened her best friend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, with the release of private text messages unless Swift publicly supports her claims against co-star Justin Baldoni, according to a new court filing. Swift’s legal team is now working to keep her distance from the escalating legal battle.
Legal documents obtained by Page Six reveal that Lively’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb of Willkie Farr, allegedly contacted Swift’s legal representatives with a demand. The filing claims that Gottlieb urged Swift to issue a public statement in support of Lively, implying that failure to do so would result in the release of personal and private text messages in Lively’s possession.
However, Gottlieb has strongly denied these allegations. In a statement on behalf of Lively’s team, he said: “We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous individuals and are completely untethered from reality. Justin Baldoni’s team is attempting to cause damage without any supporting evidence.”
Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, maintains that they received the information from a highly credible source. The actor also alleged that Lively had asked Swift to delete their message history. According to Baldoni’s legal team, Swift’s attorney responded in writing, calling the alleged threat “inappropriate” and “extortionate,” and requested that Lively’s team cease all such communications.
Baldoni’s lawyers are now pushing for access to the private exchanges, claiming that Swift is a key witness in the case. While the specific contents of the messages remain unclear, the documents note that Lively allegedly compared Swift and her husband to Game of Thrones characters while suggesting creative changes to a rooftop scene in ‘It Ends With Us’.
Swift’s team has previously denied any involvement in the film or the ongoing dispute, aside from granting permission for her song My Tears Ricochet to be used in the movie.
The controversy stems from a lawsuit filed in December 2024, in which Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment, along with additional abuse claims and allegations of a targeted smear campaign.

  • Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman reunite for ‘Practical Magic 2’

Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman reunite for ‘Practical Magic 2’

Warner Bros. has announced that the sequel to the beloved 1998 film ‘Practical Magic’, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, is set to hit theaters on September 18, 2026.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Susanne Bier will direct the film, ‘Practical Magic 2,’ which will be written by Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the original film’s script.
The sequel promises to bring back the magic of the original film, with Bullock and Kidman reprising their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters from a line of witches.
Denise Di Novi, the producer of the original film, will produce the sequel alongside Bullock and Kidman.
Di Novi emphasised the importance of honouring the original film, stating that sequels often go wrong when they try to reinvent the wheel.
While plot details for the sequel have not been shared, fans of the original film eagerly anticipate the Owens sisters’ return.
The first film followed Sally and Gillian as they navigated love, family, and their magical powers.
Despite the original film’s mixed reception, it has developed a cult following over the years.
Interestingly, ‘Practical Magic 2’ will share its release date with another highly anticipated film, the Resident Evil reboot directed by Zach Cregger.
“Practical Magic” received mixed reviews and flopped at the box office, but the supernatural story became a cult favorite in subsequent years. Warne Bros. tried to expand the “Practical Magic” property in 2019 with the prequel series “Rules of Magic,” but the HBO series was scrapped and never came to fruition.
Susanne Bier is directing “Practical Magic 2” from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the first movie. Though the production timeline is hazy, Kidman told Variety in February that the sequel is “moving ahead rapidly.” Bullock and Kidman, who each have collected Oscar statues in the decades following “Practical Magic,” will produce the sequel alongside the original film’s producer Denise Di Novi.

  • Halle Berry starved herself in the run-up to the Met Gala

Halle Berry starved herself in the run-up to the Met Gala

Hollywood actress Halle Berry didn’t eat “anything all day” in the build-up to the Met Gala. The 58-year-old actress arrived at fashion’s biggest event but admitted that after leaving the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
She treated herself to some fried chicken after starving herself all day so that she could fit into her somewhat revealing LaQuan Smith dress, reports ‘Female First UK’.
She told E! News, “I haven’t eaten anything all day, trying to wear this dress. They told me I could have a little treat for myself, and come here and get some Cane’s chicken. So, I’m like, yes, I’m there”.
As per ‘Female First UK’, the Academy Award-winning star was then asked when she was left most “star-struck” during the evening and revealed that her “jaw dropped” when she got to witness a performance given by ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ crooner Stevie Wonder. She said: “I didn’t know this would happen but Stevie Wonder performed tonight, and that was just a jaw-dropping moment, I had no idea that I would get to see it like that. He has such a good voice, it was just a real treat”.
The ‘Never Let Go’ actress was dressed in a LaQuan original and explained that her personal “highlight” of the night came when she got to see several others wearing clothes also designed by him, more than a decade after she started working with the luxury fashion brand founder. She added, “I think seeing everybody out looking so dandy-ish and I think it was really special that I went with LaQuan , he designed my dress, I was his muse. To see him shine tonight and see his creations come to life on all the people he dressed was really special. It was so fun and so easy”.
“He showed me some sketches. I chose two that I really liked, so he made two dresses. The dresses were gorgeous. I could hardly choose. I asked LaQuan, ‘Which one would you like me to wear?’ So, I chose his favourite”, she added.

  • Rihanna and Ciara end 14-year feud at 2025 Met Gala with heartfelt reunion

Rihanna and Ciara end 14-year feud at 2025 Met Gala with heartfelt reunion

Pop icons Rihanna and Ciara made headlines at the 2025 Met Gala as they publicly reunited 14 years after their Twitter spat. Both stars were seen smiling and photographed inside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, posing alongside their partners A$AP Rocky and NFL star Russell Wilson marking a moment of warmth and reconciliation.
During the event, Ciara, 39, was seen joyfully placing her hand on Rihanna’s baby bump. The “Diamonds” singer, 37, had announced just hours earlier that she and A$AP Rocky were expecting their third child. Ciara later appeared on The Sherri Show on May 6, expressing her happiness about their encounter. “It was so sweet running into her I’m so proud of her,” she said. As reported by People, the once-tense relationship between the two singers dates back to a 2011 exchange sparked by Ciara’s comments on Fashion Police.
After Rihanna responded sharply on Twitter, the two engaged in a brief war of words before Rihanna apologized. Though they had kept a low profile since, Ciara revealed to Sherri that Rihanna had sent her a “sweet DM” a few months ago, reigniting their friendship.
