The Cannes Film Festival and Kering have announced that actor Nicole Kidman will be the 10th recipient of the Women in Motion Award. This prestigious honour recognises female artists who advance the place of women in cinema and society. The award ceremony will take place on May 18 during a glamorous gala at the festival, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter. Kidman’s commitment to working with female directors has been cited as a reason for her selection.
In 2017, she pledged to work with a female director every 18 months, but has since exceeded that goal, collaborating with nearly 20 female directors.
This commitment to promoting female representation in cinema has made her a powerful example of what Women in Motion has been advocating for over the past decade, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Kering chairman and CEO Francois-Henri Pinault praised Kidman. They said, “Through her artistic standards, her committed choices and her concrete action to change representations in cinema, she is a powerful illustration of what Women In Motion has been defending for a decade,” as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas seem to confirm what fans have long suspected: they are a thing now, per the Daily Mail. The pair were spotted arriving together in London earlier this week, just days before de Armas’ 37th birthday.
Daily Mail lensed some exclusive photos that show the 62-year-old Mission: Impossible star piloting the couple into the UK capital via helicopter, with de Armas seated beside him, looking relaxed. The actress donned casual shorts, sneakers, and sunglasses, carried her dog Elvis while a friend handled her second pup, Salsa. Cruise wore a fitted T-shirt and jeans. Daily Mail cited some insiders who claimed their relationship has been gaining traction over the past few weeks, with one of Cruise’s exes even giving the budding romance her blessing.
Who is that ex? That ex is none other than Penélope Cruz, the Spanish actress who dated Cruise from 2001 to 2004. “Ana has said that Penelope is happy for her, she approves,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“They know each other from the movie and also they have friends in common in Madrid from when Ana lived there for a while.”
Cruise is reportedly planning to bring de Armas to the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where his latest film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, will premiere on May 14.
“Tom makes Ana feel safe and that is very important to her,” said one insider. “She was flipped out by the fans and stalkers when living in Venice Beach [Los Angeles] so she moved to a remote part of Vermont.” In 2022, she purchased a six-bedroom home in the state for over $7 million.
“She loves being away from the crazy,” the source continued. “She has been traveling with Tom to busy cities like London, but he always makes her feel safe because he is thoughtful and he has a ton of security. He never puts her at risk, she is completely taken care of when she is in his company.”

Reese Witherspoon’s alleged feud with Blake Lively surfaced amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni. An insider told RadarOnline.com that the Legally Blonde actress “never liked” the Gossip Girl alum and even shaded her at one point.
Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, who writes on Substack, revealed that Witherspoon has never been a fan of A Simple Favor actress.
“Reese still doesn’t like her. She never did. Blake’s been cold, dismissive, and downright rude to people Reese respects — and Reese doesn’t forget that kind of thing,” Shuter added.

Shuter’s source has claimed that Witherspoon “meant” what she said in her MTV Movie Award speech. “She didn’t like the way Blake handled herself, and she’s not the only one in town who feels that way,” he added.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt appears ready to embrace a new chapter in his life, as insiders reveal he recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend Ines de Ramon. Actor Andrew Garfield has expressed his desire to return as Spider-Man in the fourth instalment after surprising his fans in Spider-Man: No Way Home, reported Variety. At the Middle East Film & Comic Con via Entertainment Tonight, as quoted by Variety, the actor said that his return to the Spider-Man franchise hinges on a very “offbeat” idea, which will also require creative freedom from the writers. He recalled the example of Spider-Verse movies for the same.
“It would have to be very weird. I would like to do something very strange. Something very unique, and offbeat and surprising, kind of like the creative freedom they have with the animated Spider-Verse movies,” said Andrew as quoted by Variety.
As per the outlet, in an interview with Esquire magazine last year, the two-time Oscar nominee said he was “left dangling” when his Spider-Man role came to such an abrupt end after Amazing Spider-Man 2 disappointed at the box office.
Tom Holland took over the role with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. But the success of No Way Home proved there’s still a lot of love for Andrew’s iteration of the comic book hero.
Andrew was speculated to be a part of the franchise again before the release of No Way Home due to leaked photos and videos. However, he continued to deny his involvement to maintain the suspense.
It worked well as the movie was a massive hit at the global box office due to unexpected cameos of Andrew and Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland’s next instalment of Spider-Man will begin shooting this year. Sony Pictures has revealed the title of the highly anticipated fourth instalment of the Spider-Man franchise, starring Tom Holland.
The film, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is set to release in theatres on July 31, 2026.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the announcement was first made at CinemaCon on Monday, where director Destin Daniel Cretton took the stage to express his excitement about helming the project.
The title, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, references a 2008 comic book storyline that takes place after a universe-altering event that causes everyone to forget who Spider-Man is, reported the outlet
This plot point is fitting, given the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw the world forget Peter Parker’s identity.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who previously penned Spider-Man: No Way Home. Andrew is also speculated to make a cameo in the series by the fans.

Actor Priyanka Chopra is adding another Hollywood comedy to her lineup. The actor is reuniting with her Baywatch co-star Zac Efron in Nicholas Stoller’s upcoming comedy for Amazon MGM Studios. The film also features Michael Peña and Will Ferrell.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the film also stars Regina Hall, Jimmy Tatro and Billy Eichner. Nicholas is helming the film from his own script. With the project, he is reuniting with the studio behind his recent feature You’re Cordially Invited which starred Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
The film was previously titled Judgment Day. It focuses on a young convict (Zac Efron) who gets out of prison and takes an unscripted TV courtroom hostage because he is convinced that the judge (Will Ferrell) delivered a ruling that destroyed his life.
The roles of Priyanka and Michael in the upcoming comedy film are currently under wraps, with details remaining tightly sealed.
Priyanka confirmed her involvement in the project by sharing a sneak peek of the casting announcement on her Instagram stories, generating buzz among fans.
The film is being produced by Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions and Nicholas for Stoller Global Solutions.
Meanwhile, Priyanka has been busy with the shoot of her next film with director SS Rajamouli. She recently wrapped up a shooting schedule in Odisha’s Koraput. The film also stars Mahesh Babu. Rajamouli’s father, writer Vijayendra Prasad, has penned the story for SSMB 29, and it is said to be an action-adventure similar to Indiana Jones. Priyanka has several other exciting projects lined up, including Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. She will also be seen in a role as a 19th-century Caribbean pirate in The Bluff.

Tom Cruise-starrer Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be presented Out of Competition at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival. According to a press release from the organisers, the premiere of the eighth film in the popular spy thriller film franchise will be held at the Grand Theatre Lumiere on May 14.
Cruise, who also serves as producer on the film, will walk the steps of the Palais des Festivals along with long-time collaborator, screenwriter, and director Christopher McQuarrie and the cast.
The Hollywood action legend previously came to the Cannes Film Festival with Ron Howard’s “Far and Away” (1992) and “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022.
“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” also stars Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O’Brian and Tramell Tillman.
Presented by Paramount Pictures and Skydance, the film will be released in Indian cinemas on May 23 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in IMAX.

Hollywood star Ben Affleck was seen wearing a wedding ring in Los Angeles and internet started buzzing with questions. Only months after finalising divorce with popstar Jennifer Lopez, the timing has sparked speculations.
Ben, who is currently filming a thriller, sparked a renewed interest in his personal life. Ben recently stated that his divorce with the pop star has been a calm affair rather than scandalous as people would want it to be.
Recently, Ben returned in front of the cameras while shooting for his upcoming Netflix film Animals, which will also mark his return as actor, director and writer since 2023’s Air. The actor was spotted on a break from filming with the wedding ring on. Page Six posted pictures of the star on X (formerly Twitter) which created quite a buzz.
According a report in People.com, the 52-year-old star plays a married mayoral candidate along with Kerry Washington who will be seen playing his onscreen wife.
“He’s both acting and producing. He’s always great to work with,” a source told People, noting that Ben is playing “a married mayoral candidate” in the movie. The actor and filmmaker was photographed wearing a wedding band on the movie’s set in recent photos. “Filming just kicked off, but it’s been great so far. Ben’s been in a great mood and super fun to work with,” the source added.
Although, it is unclear it seem like the wedding band belongs to Ben’s onscreen character rather than him personally.
Ben is also producing the film which started shooting in March this year through is and actor-friend Matt Damon’s production house Artist Equity. While Damon was also supposed to be a part of the cast, however he has been busy filming Christopher Nolan’s next The Odyssey. Hollywood actor Glen Powell’s mother, Cyndy Powell, has addressed the rumours about her son and actor Sydney Sweeney, stating that they are not in a romantic relationship. Speaking to The Daily Mail, Cyndy described the speculation as a “silly misunderstanding” and clarified that Sydney is a “really close friend” of the Powell family.

The rumors began after Sydney attended the wedding of Glen’s sister, following her breakup with fiance Jonathan Davino. Despite the internet buzz, Cyndy emphasised that Glen and Sydney have been friends for years, long before the rumors started.

Actor Jean-Claude Van Damme has been accused of having sex with five Romanian women he knew were trafficked. Several criminal charges have reportedly been filed against him in Romania.

According to CNN affiliate Antena 3, a criminal complaint was filed with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) against the Streetfighter star, 64, alleging that he knowingly engaged in sexual relations with women trafficked by a criminal group led by Morel Bolea, reports PageSix.

The complaint alleges that the married martial artist-turned-actor, 64, engaged in sexual relations with five women trafficked by a criminal group believed to be led by Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner Morel Bolea.

It further claims that the women were allegedly presented to Jean-Claude as a “gift,” and the alleged acts took place in Cannes at an event he organized, according to Antena 3 CNN. A timeframe for the alleged acts was not noted.

Rachel Zegler made a “dismissive” comment about Gal Gadot that led to a fallout between them, according to a new report by Variety. The bombshell claim comes as Disney’s Snow White remake continues to face backlash after its doomed box office opening weekend. The bombshell report details the constant problems Disney was met with due to the 23-year-old actress’ controversial social media posts, which included “Free Palestine” and “F**k Donald Trump.”
Sources per the outlet explained that Zegler and Gadot “got along well” and that there was no “bad blood” at the time of filming. However, “things got awkward” in the lead-up to the film’s release.
Following their joint appearance at the 2025 Oscars, where they presented an award together, Zegler called Gadot “a professional pageant queen” in an Instagram reply. The West Side Story star’s remark was “considered a dismissive way to describe a fellow actress,” per the sources.
Moreover, Zegler’s pro-Palestine remarks contributed to tensions between the Snow White co-stars as Gadot, who is an Israeli, faced death threats. Disney had to pay for additional security for the mother-of-four, per the outlet.
