When love meets laughter, even wedding talk turns into comedy gold. That’s exactly what happened when Selena Gomez dropped by ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ this week.
The 33-year-old singer and actress, glowing with happiness, couldn’t stop smiling as she spoke about her upcoming wedding with fiancé Benny Blanco.
Selena Gomez, joined on the show by her ‘Only Murders in the Building’ co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, gave fans a small but joyful glimpse into her big day. Fallon couldn’t resist asking her about the wedding, and Selena, with her usual charm, said, “It’s wonderful, I’m very lucky. It’s going well, I’m so excited.”
When asked if Short and Martin would be invited, Selena quipped, “Course they are; Marty’s the ring bearer.”
Short didn’t miss a beat. He dramatically pretended to hold out the ring in a “Lord of the Rings” fashion, announcing, “Here’s your ring, Selena. Take it.”
And the jokes didn’t stop there. Short went on to tease, “We are all so excited because we love this lady and we love her fiancé, Bad Bunny.”
Selena immediately burst out laughing and corrected him: “Benny Blanco!”
Earlier this year, comedian and actor Martin Short openly praised her relationship. On Amy Poehler’s ‘Good Hang’ podcast, he called Benny Blanco “fabulous” and described him as “one of the great, cool guys… funny and loose,” adding that Selena truly adores him.
And of course, fans can’t forget the excitement from Selena’s best friend Taylor Swift. Right after the engagement news broke last December, Taylor cheekily commented on Instagram, “Yes I will be the flower girl.”
Selena and Benny made their relationship public in December 2023, though their story goes back much further. The couple had already collaborated musically on the 2019 track ‘I Can’t Get Enough’, long before their romance began.
