Actor Matt Damon is happy for his friend, actor Ben Affleck’s reunion with actor and singer Jennifer Lopez. Since April this year, it has been speculated that Ben and Jennifer have got back together.
Matt spoke to Extra, while promoting his new film Stillwater. When asked about Ben’s reunion with former fiancee Jennifer, Matt said: “I’m just so happy for him. He’s the best. He deserves every happiness in the world. I’m glad for both of them.”
On Jennifer Lopez’s 52nd birthday earlier this month, she made her relationship with Ben Instagram-official. The couple had jetted off to the South of France to ring in her birthday. On the occasion, she had shared a bunch of pictures in an orange bikini, on a yacht. While many of them were her solo pictures, the last picture showed Ben and her kissing.
Jennifer and Ben split in 2004 after getting engaged in 2002. They have worked together in films such as Jersey Girl and Gigli.
Rumours of Jennifer and Ben’s relationship first emerged in late April when they were spotted outside her LA home following her split from New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
Since then, the couple has often been spotted together in Los Angeles and in Miami. In May this year, the duo was seen kissing. Later that month, the two reportedly went on a long vacation to Montana. In June this year, Jennifer reportedly went looking for schools in Los Angeles for her children. Jennifer shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex, Marc Anthony. The kids have been attending school in Miami for years.
Pop star Jennifer Lopez is said to be “impressed” with the way actor Ben Affleck has “stepped up his game” ever since they reportedly started dating again. This, even as Affleck was recently seen wearing a chain-link watch that Hollywood watchers insist is the same one that he used to wear when he was dating J.Lo 17 years ago. News of the two reuniting had started doing the rounds shortly after J.Lo split with her partner, former baseball star Alex Rodriguez, a while back, and was spotted with ex-lover Affleck in Montana, 17 years after she and the actor had broken up. Now, according to dailymail.co.uk, sources close to Lopez say she loves the way Affleck is “making a huge effort”, giving priority to their relationship above everything. Sources added J.Lo “loves this version of him”. J.Lo, 51, and Affleck, 48, were recently seen gymming together, the website said, even as sources claimed that Affleck was recently seen wearing a watch he used to wear back in the day in 2004, when he dated J.Lo. “They were always in contact over the years and he never missed a chance to praise her publicly,” the website quoted The Sun as reporting.

WASHINGTON (TIP): An emotional Lady Gaga performed a dramatic version of the U.S. national anthem, Garth Brooks sang a cappella, and Tom Hanks hosted a star-studded nighttime celebration to cap President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday, January 20. On a day marked by diversity and appeals for unity, Gaga wowed in a huge fuchsia Schiaparelli couture silk skirt and black top adorned by a large gold brooch of a dove carrying an olive branch as she sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Biden’s swearing-in ceremony.
Gaga at one point gestured to the U.S. flag flying high over the Capitol, the seat of Congress that just two weeks ago was attacked by supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump seeking to overturn Biden’s election victory.
“She slayed it. I AM GAGA FOR GAGA!!!” actor Ed Helms wrote in a tweet.
Ahead of her performance, Gaga said on Twitter she wanted to “acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and be passionate for a future where we work together lovingly.” Country singer Brooks, a Republican, chose jeans and a black shirt and took off his black Stetson hat to sing an unaccompanied version of “Amazing Grace”, asking Americans at the ceremony and watching at home to sing the last verse along with him.
Afterward, before replacing his coronavirus mask, Brooks hugged or shook hands with Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, outgoing Vice President Mike Pence, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Jennifer Lopez, dressed in white pants and a long matching coat, performed a medley of “This Land is Your Land” and “America The Beautiful,” interjecting in Spanish the part of the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance that says, “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” At just 22 years old, poet Amanda Gorman captured the mixed emotions of the past four years with a poem in which she referred to herself as a “skinny Black girl, descended from slaves and raised by a single mother (who) can dream of becoming president only to find herself reciting for one.” The cultural celebrations continued Wednesday night with a broadcast across television and social media, hosted by “Forrest Gump” actor Hanks, who is known as “America’s Dad.” The events, bringing together some of the biggest white, Black and Hispanic celebrities, marked a sharp contrast with Trump’s inauguration in 2017, which was low on star power. Wednesday’s TV special, called “Celebrating America,” opened with Bruce Springsteen, standing alone with an acoustic guitar on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, singing “Land of Hope and Dreams.”
Standing nearby, Hanks acknowledged “deep division and a troubling rancor” in recent years but said “tonight we ponder the United States of America … and the hopes and dreams we all share for a more perfect union.”
Other performers included John Legend, Demi Lovato and country singers Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard, who paired for a song about unity called “Undivided.” Delivery drivers, healthcare workers and others also told stories of perseverance during the coronavirus pandemic. Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl, the son of a public-school teacher, dedicated a song to “all of our unshakeable teachers.” The show concluded with Katy Perry, in a white gown with blue and red trim, singing her hit “Firework.” Biden and his wife, Jill, watched from the White House as fireworks lit up the sky around the capital city’s monuments. WILMINGTON, DEL (TIP): Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem at Joe Biden’s inauguration and Jennifer Lopez will give a musical performance on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol when he is sworn in as the nation’s 46th president next Wednesday, January 20. The announcement of their participation comes one day after word that Tom Hanks will host a 90-minute prime time TV special celebrating Mr. Biden’s inauguration. Other performers include Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and Ant Clemons.
At the swearing-in ceremony, the Rev. Leo O’Donovan, a former Georgetown University president, will give the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Andrea Hall, a firefighter from Georgia.
There will be a poetry reading from Amanda Gorman, the first national youth poet laureate, and the benediction will be given by Rev. Silvester Beaman of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Wilmington, Delaware.
