Johnny Depp breaks silence after Blow co-star Lola Glaudini accuses him of abuse
Actor Johnny Depp has reacted after his Blow co-star Lola Glaudini accused him of verbally abusing her on sets of their 2001 film. As reported by Deadline, Johnny’s response came after an episode of the Powerful Truth Angels podcast from January 30 recently emerged on social media. In the podcast, Lola recounted how she was mistreated by Johnny.
In a statement to Deadline, Johnny’s representative said, “Johnny always prioritises good working relationships with cast and crew and this recounting differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set at the time.”
According to the report, Lola said that while filming a scene for Blow, director Ted Demme told her to ‘burst out laughing’ while Johnny delivered a monologue. “I hear the cue, and I go haha, I do a big laugh or whatever. Johnny Depp, when they say cut, walks over to me, comes up to me, sticks his finger in my face and he goes, ‘Who the f*** do you think you are? Who the f*** do you think you are? Shut the f*** up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to f***ing say my lines and you’re f****** pulling focus. You f****** idiot. Oh, now, oh now it’s not so funny? Now you can shut up? Now you can f****** shut the fuck up? The quiet that you are right now, that’s how you f****** stay.’”
Lola shared that it happened on the first day on the set and she hadn’t met Johnny before that. She added that he was with the star whom she ‘idolised’ and was ‘so excited to work with’, but he ‘reamed me in my face’. Lola revealed her thought at that point was not to cry.
She recalled that Johnny approached her later and said that earlier, he was ‘really in his head’ and staying in his character, ‘doing this Boston accent’, adding it was ‘really f****** with him’. He added that he wanted to make sure “we’re cool and everything”. Lola said that she replied she was ‘totally cool’.
Blow was a biographical crime drama film directed by Ted Demme, about an American cocaine kingpin and his international network. Apart from Johnny and Lola, the film also starred Penelope Cruz, Franka Potente, Rachel Griffiths and Paul Reubens, among others.

Johnny Depp cries as comeback film receives standing ovation after premiere at Cannes
On Tuesday, May 16, the 76th Cannes Film Festival officially began with Maiwenn’s Jeanne du Barry, and it appears that Johnny Depp got the audience reaction he had hoped for. The actor received a 7-minute standing ovation, and even teared up as the crowd applauded him. A video of the moment is doing the rounds of social media. Cannes Film Festival 2023 opened with the premiere of Johnny Depp’s film, Jeanne du Barry, directed by Maiwenn, where the actor plays French king Louis XV. The period drama marks Johnny’s first film after his high-profile trial last year with his ex-wife Amber Heard. Both parties had accused each other of physical and verbal abuse. Jeanne du Barry is being dubbed as Johnny’s ‘comeback’ film.
Reacting to the video of Johnny tearing up at the film’s Cannes premiere, which was shared on Twitter by Variety, a fan tweeted, “Well deserved! Bravo!” One more said, “Omg (Oh my God) I love every single moment of this day for him. Bravo, Johnny Depp!!” A Twitter user said, “So proud of him.” A fan also tweeted, “Congratulations, Johnny! This is validation and vindication at its finest!”
However, some Twitter users were not happy to see Johnny being hailed at the prestigious festival. One tweeted, “So gross that you’re featuring him.” Some were not willing to forget the abuse allegations levelled against Johnny by his ex-wife, actor Amber Heard. A Twitter user wrote, “I can smell the day-old whiskey and stale cigarettes from here.” One more said, “It was a 3-minute (standing ovation) and he’s teary-eyed because he’s drunk and on dope.”
Earlier, in an interview with Variety, Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux had addressed the potential backlash to having Jeanne du Barry opening the festival. He had said, “I don’t see Maiwenn’s film as a controversial choice at all, because if Johnny Depp had been banned from working it would have been different, but that’s not the case… We only know one thing, it’s the justice system and I think he won the legal case in court. But the movie isn’t about Johnny Depp.” -

Johnny Depp is indeed dating a lawyer who represented him
Looks like love is indeed in the air for Johnny Depp after his failed romance with Amber Heard. Ever since the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor won the defamation case against his ex-wife in June, this year, he has once again been making headlines owing to his personal life. Earlier reports suggested that the actor is dating Camille Vasquez, who was one of the attorneys representing him in the defamation trials.
However later, other media reports suggested that there was absolutely brewing nothing between them than a professional relationship. The attorney had also reacted to her dating rumours to Depp calling it an ‘unethical charge’. But looks like his love affair rumours with Vasquez were indeed untrue. As we bring you the latest update.
According to the latest media reports, Johnny Depp has indeed found love in a lawyer who is not Camille Vasquez but Joelle Rich. Yes, you heard that right. Reportedly, the Transcendence actor is dating lawyer Joelle Rich who represented him in his UK libel lawsuit against a portal, The Sun. For the unversed, the actor had sued the portal for tagging him as a wife-beater. However, Depp lost that case after Amber Heard’s allegation about her ex-husband turned out to be “substantially true.”
Coming back, according to a report in US Weekly Magazine, Johnny Depp and lawyer Joelle Rich have found solace in each other. A source close to the new lovebirds confirmed to the leading portal, “Their chemistry is off the charts,” adding “It’s serious between them. They are the real deal.”
The report further states that Johnny Depp’s new love interest Joelle Rich is currently separated from her husband with whom she shared two children. But the lawyer was very much married when she had met Depp.

Johnny Depp might return to Fantastic Beasts, says Mads Mikkelsen
Johnny Depp may end up returning as wizard Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series. And this is something Mads Mikkelsen, the actor who replaced him in the role, has said. Johnny played Grindelwald in the Harry Potter spinoff in the first two films. Thereafter, he was replaced with Mads in the wake of the domestic abuse allegations levelled against him by his ex-wife Amber Heard. Mads Mikkelsen played the famous dark wizard in the third film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which was released earlier this year. Fans have campaigned for Johnny to be brought back now that he has won a defamation suit against Amber after domestic violence allegations. Many see this as proof of his innocence. In a recent interview to Deadline, Mads said, “Obviously, well, now the course has changed — he won the suit (against Amber), the court (case) — so let’s see if he comes back. He might.” The actor added that it was intimidated to take on the role after Johnny and he understood why his fans ‘had their hearts broken’. “I’m a big fan of Johnny. I think he’s an amazing actor, I think he did a fantastic job. Having said that, I could not copy it. There’s there was no way I could just copy it, because it’s so much him. It would be creative suicide. So, we had to come up with something else, something that was mine, and build a bridge between him and me. So, yes, it was intimidating. His fans were very, very sweet, but they were also very stubborn. I didn’t interact too much with them, but I could understand why they had their hearts broken,” he added.

Amber Heard tells jury Johnny Depp assaulted her
Aquaman actor Amber Heard choked back tears on Wednesday as she testified that ex-husband Johnny Depp physically abused her, starting with slaps after she laughed at one of his tattoos and escalating to a “cavity search” of her body for cocaine. Heard took the witness stand for the first time in a widely followed U.S. defamation case brought by Depp, saying the actors had a “magical” relationship until it turned violent.
Depp’s first physical outburst, Heard said, came after she asked what was written on one of his faded tattoos. She said he replied “Wino,” and she laughed, thinking it was a joke.
“He slapped me across the face,” Heard said. “I didn’t know what was going on. I just stared at him.”
Heard said he slapped her twice more and said “you think it’s funny, bitch?”
Depp, 58, testified earlier in the trial that he never hit Heard and that she was the one who was the abuser.
The star of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films and others is suing Heard, 36, for $50 million, saying she defamed him when she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. Heard has counter-sued for $100 million, saying Depp smeared her by calling her a liar.
Heard, who alternated between crying and speaking calmly, said she stayed with Depp because she wanted to believe his apologies and promises to never hit her.
But, Heard said, Depp assaulted her “several times,” usually when he was drinking or using drugs. During a weekend away with friends in May 2013, Heard said, Depp became angry and accused her of inviting what he perceived as suggestive advances from another woman.
That evening, Heard said Depp tore her dress, ripped off her underwear and stuck his fingers “inside” her.
“He proceeds to do a cavity search,” she said. “He’s looking for his drugs, his cocaine.”
Earlier, psychologist Dawn Hughes testified that Heard had told her that Depp had put his fingers up her vagina to search for cocaine.
The case hinges on a December 2018 opinion piece she authored in the Washington Post. The article never mentioned Depp by name, but his lawyer told jurors it was clear Heard was referencing him. The couple’s divorce was finalized in 2017 after less than two years of marriage.
Depp, once among the biggest stars in Hollywood, said Heard’s allegations cost him “everything.” A new “Pirates” movie was put on hold, and Depp was replaced in the “Fantastic Beasts” film franchise, a “Harry Potter” spinoff.
In his earlier testimony, Depp said the fight over the “Wino” tattoo, which was originally the name of former girlfriend Winona Ryder, “didn’t happen.”

Actor Johnny Depp seeks appeal in UK wife beater libel case
London (TIP): Hollywood star Johnny Depp will seek permission on Thursday to appeal against his defeat in a London libel case last year over a tabloid article that labelled him a wife beater. High Court Judge Andrew Nicol ruled last November that Depp had violently assaulted his ex-wife Amber Heard during their tempestuous five-year relationship, at times putting her in fear for her life. That decision came after three weeks of hearings where the court heard sensational claim and counter-claim from Depp, 57, and Heard, 34, about violent outbursts that each accused the other of committing. Depp, star of films including ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Edward Scissorhands’, had gone to the London court to sue The Sun newspaper and one of its journalists over an article that stated he had been violent towards Heard. “I have found that the great majority of alleged assaults of Ms Heard by Mr Depp have been proved to the civil standard,” said Nicol in his November ruling.
In the aftermath, Depp’s lawyers said the ruling was so flawed it would be ridiculous for him not to appeal.
They said it was “troubling” the judge had relied on Heard’s testimony while rejecting the evidence of police officers, her former assistant and other witnesses which they said had undermined her evidence.
On Thursday, Depp’s legal team will apply for permission to appeal, and to rely on further evidence. The hearing, expected to last for about two hours, will be livestreamed on the Court of Appeal’s YouTube channel.
Following Nicol’s verdict, seen as being highly damaging to his career, Depp was asked to leave the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise, the movie spin-offs from the ‘Harry Potter’ books and films.
During the libel trial last summer, Heard said Depp would turn into a jealous alter ego, “the monster”, after bingeing on drugs and alcohol and had often threatened to kill her.
Heard detailed 14 occasions of extreme violence when she said the actor choked, punched, slapped, head-butted, throttled and kicked her, with Nicol accepting 12 of these accounts were true, including an assault after her 30th birthday party and another incident which left her with black eyes.
The couple met while making ‘The Rum Diary’ in 2011 and married four years later, but divorced in 2016.
Depp had told the court he was never violent towards his ex-wife, saying her claims were a hoax and portraying her as a gold-digger. But Nicol rejected his version of events. Depp has also filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard in a Virginia court over an opinion piece she wrote in The Washington Post.
