Karan Johar has announced his new film, ‘Dhadak 2’. Produced by Johar, the film will star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri and will be directed by Shazia Iqbal.
Sharing the announcement video, Karan Johar wrote in Hindi, “Once upon a time, there was a king and there was a queen. They were from different castes, and that’s the end of the story.”
The caption also read, “Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in cinemas 22nd November 2024 (sic).” The movie will explore barriers of class and status stitched in the minds of societies, underscoring a narrative of love that can never be fulfilled. ‘Dhadak 2’, produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions, and Cloud 9 Pictures, features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film is slated for release on November 22, 2024.

Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani tie the knot in Jaisalmer
Bollywood couple Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra tied the knot at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer on February 7 among family and close friends in a lavish wedding. The varmala and the pheras took place in the courtyard of the hotel. A special ‘bavdi’ was set up for this purpose. The wedding festivities started on February 6 with mehendi and sangeet. The wedding day started with the haldi ceremony followed by the wedding.
The mehendi ceremony was attended by Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput. Both Sidharth and Kiara set the dance floor on fire during the mehendi ceremony celebrations. The ceremony started at the Suryagarh Hotel lakeside. The guests were seated in the Sunset Patio Garden by the lake. Mehendi was first applied to Kiara’s hands, and it was Siddharth’s turn next.
Later, the women of the two families, including the bride’s mother, Genevieve, aunt Sumita and maternal grandmother Valerie. Meera Rajput also got mehendi applied to her hands.
When the ceremony was on, DJ Ganesh kept the guests grooving to Bollywood and fusion numbers. The families of both Sidharth and Kiara also put up performances tailored for the occasion.
As the evening descended upon the lakeside, DJ Ganesh pumped up the pace of the music, and Kiara’s rapper brother Mishaal Advani, apart from Punjabi electronic folk artistes Hari and Sukhmani, also belted out peppy numbers to keep the guests grooving through the evening.
More than 100 dishes from 10 countries were reportedly served to the guests at the wedding. The menu included Italian, Chinese, American, South Indian, Mexican, Rajasthani, Punjabi, and Gujarati cuisines. Jaisalmer’s Ghotwan Ladoo was also among the sweets. Sidharth and Kiara started dating while working together in ‘Shershaah’.

Emraan Hashmi, Akshay Kumar announce Driving License remake
Akshay Kumar on Wednesday took to his social media platforms to share a few selfies and announce their new project, Selfiee, together. Initially teasing his fans and followers, Akshay shared a solo selfie followed by one with Emraan Hashmi. Akshay and Emraan are seen riding their bikes in a scenic mountain background. Akshay wrote, “Found myself the perfect #Selfiee partner! Hey @karanjohar, have we slayed this selfie game or what??? @therealemraan.”
Emraan shared the same picture on his Instagram handle and wrote, “Joining the #Selfiee club with @akshaykumar!.”
Karan Johar also shared a teaser of Selfiee that has Akshay and Emraan dancing together, and wrote, “Presenting #Selfiee starring two absolutely smashing actors – Akshay Kumar & Emraan Hashmi and directed by Raj Mehta. Hop into the frame and pose because shooting begins soon!”

Shanaya Kapoor to make Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Rom-Com
There have been discussions for a long time now for the launch of Shanaya Kapoor, Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter. Ever since filmmaker Karan Johar got her on board his talent management agency in January this year, there have been many speculations about her debut in Bollywood.
Earlier, there were unconfirmed reports that she will make her acting debut with Student Of The Year 3. Shanaya, who is quite active on social media, has also hinted several times about her debut and the audience is eagerly awaiting its release.
Now, it seems the buzz is over regarding the start of her film innings. There have been reports that the star kid will enter the Hindi film industry with a romantic comedy that will be a love triangle. The movie will be produced by Karan with Shashank Khaitan under the banner of Dharma Productions. Shashank is famous for directing Dulhania Franchise and Dhadak. The upcoming flick will feature Laksh Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada in the lead. A source close to the film’s development told Pinkvilla that the three actors have been taking part in several acting workshops over the past six months as earlier the movie was planned to go on floors in July this year. However, because of the restrictions imposed in several states owing to the second wave of Covid-19, the shooting plans were delayed. Now the makers are planning a new schedule. A major chunk of the project will be shot abroad and a team from the production house will go on a recce once lockdown restrictions are lifted.
