Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming directorial ‘Merry Christmas’ has a new release date of January 12, the makers announced on Thursday, November 16. The Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi starrer has been delayed multiple times and it was last slated to come out in theatres on December 12 this year.
Presented by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, the upcoming film is described as “a genre-defying tale” shot in Hindi and Tamil with a different set of supporting actors, according to a press release.
In a statement, the film’s team expressed their deep love for the project and their unwavering commitment to delivering a truly exceptional cinematic experience.
“We have made this film with a lot of love & passion like every filmmaker does however with the back to back movie releases and packed last two months of 2023, we have taken the decision to extend the season of joy and bring our film to the theatres on 12th January 2024,” they said.
While the Hindi version of ‘Merry Christmas’ co-stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, the Tamil iteration has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles.
The film also introduces Pari, a child actor.

Vicky gets asked ‘how’s the josh’ as he and Katrina return to Mumbai
Newlyweds Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif returned to Mumbai on Tuesday, after enjoying a quick honeymoon. As they posed for the first time as a married couple, one photographer cheered them on and said ‘jodi hit hai (your pair is a hit)’. In a video shared online by a fan account, one person also addressed Katrina as ‘bhabhi ji (sister-in-law)’ while asking the couple to pose. A few paparazzi asked Vicky ‘how’s the josh’, referring to his line from Uri: The Surgical Strike. Vicky smiled and thanked the media persons for their wishes. He and Katrina held hands as they posed for pictures. She wore sindoor (vermilion) on her forehead as well as choodas (bridal bangles). Vicky and Katrina tied the knot in the presence of close friends and family members at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan on December 9. Their wedding was preceded by haldi and mehendi ceremonies. The functions were attended by only a select few from the film fraternity, including Kabir Khan-Mini Mathur, Neha Dhupia-Angad Bedi, Malavika Mohanan and Sharvari Wagh. Soon, Vicky and Katrina will move into their new home, in the vicinity of where Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma stay. In her special post for Vicky and Katrina on Instagram Stories, Anushka confirmed that they will be her neighbours. “Congratulations to both you beautiful people! Tiger 3: Salman, Katrina to shoot international leg of actioner in Russia, Austria and Turkey
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are currently busy filming Tiger 3. The pair will be heading to Russia on Wednesday in order to shoot the international portions of the actioner. Salman and Katrina will be filming in at least five different locations abroad, including Austria and Turkey.
However, the pandemic is still a big part of our lives, and to avoid any untoward incident, producer Aditya Chopra has decided to fly his Tiger 3 team in a jumbo charter.
“YRF is chartering everyone including Salman, Katrina, director Maneesh Sharma, the entire cast and crew for this intense international leg that will see the team pull off some spectacular shooting schedules.The direction team under Maneesh has prepped for months for this schedule, and Aditya Chopra is clear that the shoot needs to happen smoothly,” a source revealed. Adding that the Maneesh Sharma directorial will see the duo perform never-seen-before action scenes, the source further stated, “Salman and Katrina will land in Russia first and then head to multiple shooting destinations like Turkey and Austria. Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma didn’t want to compromise on the scale of the film despite the pandemic and they have planned Tiger 3 to be a visually spectacular theatrical experience.
