Salman Khan has unveiled a soulful and emotionally charged version of the track, Main Hoon, from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi. The song gives a fresh look at the patriotic drama and its emotional core. The new version, which is set to be released today, also features Chitrangda Singh.
The newly unveiled music video places its focus entirely on Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh, foregrounding themes of love, longing and separation. It has been shot completely in black and white, marking a clear contrast with the original song video, which used vibrant colours and visually rich settings.
The original version of Main Hoon traced the emotional journey of a soldier’s family, showing moments of happiness together as well as the silence and loneliness that follow when duty calls. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Ayan Lall, the song pays tribute to the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.
The latest version of Main Hoon arrives as anticipation builds around Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film was earlier titled Battle of Galwan and is reportedly inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China before being renamed later.
While Maatrubhumi was initially expected to release in theatres on April 17, the makers are yet to announce a revised release date.
Maatrubhumi (originally titled Battle of Galwan) is an upcoming Indian war drama starring Salman Khan as Colonel Santosh Babu. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. While originally slated for an earlier release, the makers are reportedly targeting the Independence Day weekend.
