STAMFORD, CT (TIP): GOPIO International welcomes the election of Kamla Susheila Persad-Bissessar, leader of the United National Congress (UNC) as the next Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. She had served as the Prime Minister from May 2010 to September 2015.

“GOPIO has a long-standing relationship with Prime Minister-Elect Kamla Persad-Bissessar from 1999 when GOPIO hosted her, when she was a minister in PM Basdeo Panday’s cabinet and she was also the Chief Guest as PM in 2014 at the GOPIO Convention in Port of Spain in Trinidad” said Dr. Thomas Abraham, Chairman of GOPIO International. GOPIO also hosted her in Calcutta in 2011.
