INYANA Launched to Empower & Uplift Indian and Nepali Youth in America

Tarun Chugh, National Secretary of India’s ruling BJP party, did the ribbon-cutting honor at the launch of Indo-Nepal Youth Association of North America. He was invited by Nishant Garg, founder of INYANA.

Prominent Indian and Nepalese leaders joined hands to launch the Indo-Nepal Youth Association of North America (INYANA) to shape a shared future for the next generation. Invited by INYANA Founder Nishant Garg, BJP leader Shri Tarun Chugh performed the founding ceremony.

FOREST HILLS,  NY (TIP):  In a historic celebration of cross-cultural collaboration and youth empowerment, the Indo-Nepal Youth Association of North America (INYANA) was officially launched on August 23 in New York City, marking the start of a bold movement to unite and uplift Indian and Nepalese youth across the continent.

The importance of the new initiative was underlined by the presence of  Tarun Chugh, National Secretary of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was invited by INYANA’s Founder Nishant Garg to perform ribbon-cutting. The founding ceremony saw active participation from leaders in both the Indian and Nepalese diasporas, including prominent figures from the Nepalese associations of America, further reinforcing the new body’s mission of inclusive growth and joint celebration.

Besides Nishant Garg, INYANA’s Board includes Pradip Shrestha, President of the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, Deepak Shrestha, Shailendra Shrestha, and Lakpa Wanomo Tamang.

Tarun Chugh commended the INYANA initiative as a “powerful platform to build bridges and strengthen the Indo-Nepal voice in the diaspora.” Commending Nishant Garg’s initiative, he noted that the involvement of Indian youth overseas reflects India’s growing influence and underscores their pivotal role in the nation’s transformative journey. Amit Taneja, a BJP leader from Punjab, accompanied Chugh.

At the launch, Tarun Chugh was joined by Nishant Garg, founder of INYANA, and Nepalese diaspora leaders, including Pradip Shrestha, President of the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce.

Nishant Garg, a successful entrepreneur, recent appointee to the CTIA (RLSQ) Leadership Council, and founder of the Telecom Institute of New York (T.I.N.Y.) and Delta Enterprise USA, in his address at the launch, said, “INYANA is more than an organization, it’s a movement. A movement to inspire, uplift, and unite Indo-Nepal youth to be proud of who they are and to lead with purpose on the global stage.”

INYANA: Vision That Goes Beyond Borders

INYANA has been established to empower the next generation of Indian and Nepalese youth across the US and Canada through cultural celebration, leadership development, mentorship, and collaborative community service. It aims to create a future where youths in America from the two neighboring countries grow up with pride in their heritage, strength in their unity, and access to opportunities that help them thrive personally, professionally, and culturally.

The Road Ahead: Building with Purpose

INYANA’s next phase of development includes:

  • Establishing local chapters in universities and major cities
  • Partnering with U.S. authorities to formalize its nonprofit structure
  • Launching national programs in mentorship, entrepreneurship, and leadership
  • Facilitating networking between Indo-Nepal professionals and students
  • Creating platforms for youth to engage in service, storytelling, and advocacy.
