    Indian Americans in Philadelphia charged with murder of Another Indian

    PHILADELPHIA(TIP): The Philadelphia Police arrested two Indian origin suspects following a Sept 25 night shooting in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia that left another Indian man dead.

    Authorities say 34-year-old Prince Kunjappan-Joy and 51-year-old Abraham Thomas were arrested Sept 26 night in Chinatown and charged with the murder of 31-year-old Syambabu Thankappan.

    Thankappan was rushed to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital after being shot in the stomach but was pronounced dead hours later.

    Kunjappan-Joy and Thomas were both charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, possessing instruments of crime, and recklessly endangering another person. The investigation is ongoing.

    PHILADELPHIA, PA (TIP):  Comcast, on October 15,  announced that from October 15 – November 15, Xfinity TV customers will have access to a specially curated collection of over 370 hours of South Asian entertainment in celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights that coincides with the Hindu New Year. Customers can say “South Asian Entertainment” into the X1 voice remote to access the Rangoli-themed destination, including:

    • A free preview of Eros Now On Demand from November 1-7, including South Asian movies like Sniff and Munna Michael.
    • Streaming movies like The Tiger Hunter and Miss India America on Netflix, which is now integrated on X1.
    • A collection of TV programming from India network favorites such as Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, STAR India PLUS, TV Asia, STAR BHARAT, STAR India GOLD, NDTV 24×7 and NDTV Good Times, plus sports content through Willow.
    • A unique on demand video featuring a burning Diya to play on the TV during Diwali celebrations.
    • Stingray Music Videos such as: Dochey: A.R. Rahman Feat Shreya Ghoshal and Lady Kash and Krissy; Sonu Nigam: Bole Chudiyan; Bally Sagoo: Dil Cheez; and Alka Yagnik & Sonu Nigam: Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

The Shah twins will be performing at select Xfinity stores in Ashburn, VA on November 2nd, Union City, CA on November 3rd and Sugar Land, TX on November 4th. Their Comcast Xfinity commercial can be accessed online and in Xfinity stores across the country.

    Vickyy Kohhli completed first Kahaniyan Show in NJ

    NEW JERSEY(TIP): Philadelphia based Bollywood Singer/Songwriter Vickyy Kohhli who is coming with new music album KAHANIYAAN did a grand rock concert in New Jersey to promote his new song.

    Various community leaders, like Rajeev Bhambri from 8K miles media and India Abroad, Sunil Hali Exec. Director Indo-American Arts Council (IAAC), Col. Virendra Tavathia and Seema Jagtiani from Shradhaa Foundation came to grace the occasion. Talking to media, Vickyy said this is the first show of multi-city tour he has planned to do within USA to promote his new song. He said this is the most direct way and efficient way of marketing his song just like old days rock bands used to do in America. The show was a great success and guests had a great time dancing to Bollywood tunes, Punjabi Challa and Jugni in Vickyy’s own Rock style as well as Vickyy’s original songs including KAHANIYAAN which has great potential to be the next hit song.
