She went on to say that the day female leads can command that much money, it will close the pay gap.

MY LEGS SELL 12 TO 15 PRODUCTS IN INDIA: PRIYANKA

my-legs-sell-12-to-15-products-in-india#Global icon Priyanka Chopra, whose name sells like hot cake, recently opened up about her tomboy-ish days and scarred legs. Speaking on the same in an interview with W magazine, the 34-year-old Desi girl said that she learnt to take care of herself and as a result, her legs now sell almost ’12 or 15 products’ in India.

“When I was a teenager, I was a tomboy. So I had scars, I was always falling on my knees. They were not the prettiest legs in the world, and then I taught myself how to take care of my body. Anybody can do it if I can. And today my legs sell like 12 or 15 products in my part of the world. Yeah they do,” she said.

Further speaking about her growing up days, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress said that with years, she has found ‘how to be the best version’ of herself. When PeeCee was further quizzed about her first audition, she said that popular American TV series ‘Quantico’ was her first one.

“I just think I’ve found how to be the best version of myself, and that took a lot of years. When I was a kid, especially at like 16, it blew my mind that I won Miss India because I was like the gawkiest teenager. I had no self-esteem. I got really bullied when I was in school in America [for three years], so that crushed my spirit a little bit more,” Priyanka explained in the interview.

“This is going to some really bizarre, but my first audition was Quantico. I became Miss World [in 2000], so then when I was doing movies in India, I was initially cast because I was in this world. And then in my first movie I won lots of awards and so then I never really looked back. But then, of course, everyone auditions here. That was my first and only audition in my life,” said the actress.

The star who graces the cover of W Magazine, looks mesmerizing in a close up snap, donning a blue outfit, little make-up and sharp eyes. The magazine quotes her as one of the ‘new royals who totally rule,’ alongside international divas such as Elle Fanning, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jodie Foster, Halle Berry, and Irina Shayk and 16 others.

Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra Replace Aamir Khan as New Brand Ambassadors of Incredible India

NEW DELHI (TIP): Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra are all set to replace Aamir Khan as the new ambassadors of the Incredible India campaign.

The selection of the two actors follows the Centre’s decision to discontinue the contract of actor Aamir Khan, who had angered the BJP-led government with his remarks on perceived intolerance in the country.

The tourism ministry will be signing up the new faces of the campaign directly instead of going through an agency, which was protocol for past appointments.

On the other hand, Khan had promoted Indian tourism for a decade as the brand ambassador.

Defending Khan’s exit from the campaign, senior bureaucrat Amitabh Kant had said the actor, by terming India an ‘intolerant country’, worked against his role as that of a brand ambassador.

Priyanka Chopra has been doing philanthropic work in the field of girl education and rights individually and as the UNICEF Child Rights Brand Ambassador since 2010.

Amitabh Bachchan has been a major force behind the polio Eradication Campaign as UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Priyanka, who has appeared on almost every Indian magazine cover by now, is thrilled about her first India Today outing. „This was one cover I always wanted t be on! Thank you @IndiaToday,“ wrote Priyanka on Twitter. The actress, photographed on the sets of ‘Quantico’, is seen in an orange prisoner outfit with handcuffs. And even in this avatar, she looks extremely desirable as always.

After receiving great reviews for her performance on the show that boasts of some of the best ratings for a new network show this season, Priyanka is becoming a household name here. Priyanka‘s acceptance (as the first Indian to play the lead on an American drama) in the mainstream is surely a milestone for Indians in American pop culture. So it is great to see her accomplishments being appreciated back home in India.

„Americans have long considered Indians efficient, practical, loyal, wise, good at following through and even better at making money. But they never associated themselves with machismo, heroism or chutzpah. Priyanka‘s character is an American citizen with an Indian back story. She is a desi, but she is Alex Parrish, not Anjali Parashar.

She is in the FBI, where she‘s a field agent, not an analyst. Alex is sensual, promiscuous, street smart, and she can kick ass. Each one of those traits is new for an Indian in mainstream American pop culture,“ writes India Today. The article offers an insight into Priyanka‘s journey to becoming a network star with ‘Quantico’ and why it is significant.

Ellie will talk to young people about her separation from her mother as a baby, the physical punishment she endured in the circus, and, finally, her happy life at a sanctuary after her rescue.

Priyanka Chopra describes elephants as “magnificent creatures, who desperately need our help and protection.” She adds: “Ellie and I are teaching kids that elephants belong in the wild with their families and that they suffer greatly in captivity, in which they’re kept chained, forced to learn tricks, and deprived of all the things that make them happy, like family and freedom.”

“I couldn’t be more proud to join PETA in bringing Ellie’s story to life for children everywhere, with the hope of instilling the idea of compassion and kindness for living creatures of all kinds.”

Elementary school students are already responding with rave reviews and questions about circus life for elephants. One student at Horace Mann Elementary in Oakland, California, asked, “Why don’t circuses just use robots instead?” And a student at Prairie Elementary in Sacramento, California, shouted, “It’s a miracle!” after watching Ellie move.

  • Indian-Origin Actor Priyanka Chopra’s “Quantico” Impresses the World

Indian-Origin Actor Priyanka Chopra’s “Quantico” Impresses the World

Actress Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Quantico’ premiered in the United States on Sunday night, Sep 27, and took the country by storm. Seeing an Indian actress nail the role of an American FBI recruit came as a surprise to all.

After the premiere of the pilot episode of ‘Quantico’, the US media took to Twitter to express how much they were impressed by the show.

Quantico, ABC’s new, twist-filled Sunday night drama about a group of FBI trainees, marks the American TV debut of actress and singer Priyanka Chopra. And if it also marks the first time you’ve seen the India-born star in action, prepare to be impressed.

Chopra — who makes good on her goal to make her Alex Parrish a Jason Bourne-level action heroine — is sharp, intense, infinitely watchable, and the main reason Quantico may also become one of your new faves. Alex has always dreamt to join the FBI, but later she finds herself in huge trouble when she is painted as a co-conspirator of one of the biggest terrorist attacks on the States.

Before the airing of the show, Priyanka’s contemporaries close home had tweeted their support.

The Hollywood Reporter had this to say: … you should definitely give Quantico a look if you’re interested in a little mindless eye candy that has enough hooks of a larger mystery to possibly keep you entertained week to week. And by all means, if you’re a fan already of ABC series like How To Get Away With Murder (which Quantico borrows from heavily) and Scandal, you’ll be right at home with Quantico, which, in the future, will likely have plenty of Grey’s Anatomy sexy-time moments as well.

Variety praised Chopra for being an “arresting lead” but wondered whether it was possible to do “a Shonda Rhimes-like show without her brand of pixie dust”…. the bar for such thrillers has been set pretty high by premium series like Homeland, while broadcasters have struggled with their versions (a la NBC’s Allegiance). Based on first impressions, Quantico seems to be stationed in a more mundane realm. The question now is whether the show can get away with it.

People Magazine called it “fun, sexy and twisty” and said: The pilot, at least, is well worth checking out. The story isn’t always plausible — there’s one twist that would blow away every brainstorm that ever disrupted Carrie Mathison’s peace of mind — but it’s complicated, clever and fast enough that you start to wonder if even the most incidental detail may actually have significance in the season.

The Wrap praised Chopra as having “a poise and sexual spark as Alex that suggests a formidable potential FBI agent whose mind and beauty are equally stunning”. However, they didn’t think much of the pilot itself.

That straining to play serious-drama dress-up also can be felt in plotting and action scenes that can be awfully dopey. Alex’s escape from the FBI after she’s accused of orchestrating the attack only works if the bureau is so stunningly incompetent that it literally can’t catch a woman a block away from where she was arrested. Similar narrative conveniences–such as characters stumbling upon important clues just lying around waiting to be discovered–litter this first episode, which wouldn’t be so egregious if these agents and recruits weren’t supposed to be the best of the best.

The AV Club opined that, while flawed, Quantico stands out from its fall drama contemporaries by toting “its bullshit with a sense of wit and style”.

The premiere reveals things about its characters that other shows might hold onto for entire seasons. A lot of it is utter nonsense — violent pasts, unspoken agendas, hidden family members — but it’s utter nonsense that piques curiosity.

Vulture called it “familiar in all the right ways” and said:

Chopra’s a huge star overseas for a reason: She’s very compelling onscreen, and you immediately get why ABC thinks she can anchor a show.

The New York Times called the pilot “competently OK TV” and complained that it “lacks the idiosyncrasy that grounds a show like Scandal through its wildest flights”. However, it had this to say about Chopra:

The strongest human asset in Quantico is Ms. Chopra, a Bollywood superstar and former Miss World who is immediately charismatic and commanding amid the otherwise generic ensemble. If there’s a problem with her casting, it’s that she may come across as too seasoned and assured to be persuasive as a shaky, neophyte recruit.

Grantland said that Chopra plays Alex Parrish “well enough” but tore into the show.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Quantico did quite well in the ratings. But beware anyone who says the show is “well-made.” It is “well-made” in the way frozen hamburgers are “well reheated” at your local fast-food franchise. These are borrowed ingredients. This is processed cheese.

The first episode of Quantico airs in India on October 3. It will be available on the channels Star World and Star World Premiere.

“Jai Gangaajal” is the sequel of 2003 film “Gangajal”. It also features actor Ajay Devgn.

The actress says she has completed the shooting for Prakash Jha’s directorial “Gan-gaajal 2”, and will soon start shooting for “Bajirao Mastani”. The “Fashion” actress, who was shooting for “Gangaajal 2” in Bho-pal, is now back in Mumbai for the shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s venture. “Back in Mumbai!! The feeling of completing a film is always the same! Bitter sweet.. #Gangaa-jal2 too much fun! Back to #BajiraoMastani tom,” the 32-year-old actress tweeted.

“Bajirao Mastani” is based on the love story between 18th century Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I (Ranveer Singh) and his second wife Mastani (Deepika). Priyanka plays Kashibai, the first wife of Peshwa Ba-jirao.

At the same time, Priyanka is excited about her new show Quantico. The star took to Twitter to announce the name of the first episode of ABC’s suspense thriller series. Revealing the title of the episode, Priyanka said that she wants her fans to run to TV sets on September 27 when the show debuts on US television. The title is ‘Run’. We wonder if it is inspired by Doctor Who. Is there Whovian in the writer’s team of Quantico?

Quantico is a show about FBI recruits which chronicles their adventures as they train on Quantico base in Virginia and the se-crets that emerge from their past. The show will air in India immediately after its broad-cast in US. Priyanka’s fans in India are also getting a Hindi version of trailer.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar says Indians should feel proud of his “Fashion” actress Priyanka Chopra for representing the country abroad. “We should be proud of Pri-yanka Chopra because of her achievements. She has put India on the global platform,” Bhandarkar said.

His next project with the actress, who is currently seen in American TV series “Quan-tico”, is “Madamji”. “The film is extremely close to me because of the kind of subject it is. Even for Priyanka, ‘Madamji’ is very im-portant as she loves the subject of the film and is very excited about it, just like I am,” said the director.

Also clarifying about the delay, he said that the “Dil Dhadakne Do” actress is busy shooting other projects. “I am looking for a 60-day schedule for the film. Once we both are free, we will start shooting.”

And this could be the mother of all com-pliments for Priyanka Chopra. Bollywood, sensual star Sunny Leone, who now has stepped in healthy lifestyle with the launch of her workout DVD, says Priyanka Chopra has the best body in the Indian film industry. “Priyanka has a very well-shaped body. I wish I had body like her,” Sunny, smoking hot in a blue one-sleeved ensemble, said at the launch of “Super-Hot Sunny Mornings” on Sunday.

Everything seems to be going perfect for Priyanka Chopra these days.

  • Priyanka Chopra eager to add a U.S. TV series to her resume

Priyanka Chopra eager to add a U.S. TV series to her resume

Indian film star Priyanka Chopra says she was eager to add a U.S. TV series to her resume.

“It’s like the golden age of television right now and I wanted to be part of that … revolution,” Chopra said of her role as a FBI recruit in ABC’s new drama “Quantico.” It debuts Sept. 27.

But she told the network that she didn’t want to be cast for the color of her skin, what she looks like or where she’s from, Chopra told a TV critics’ meeting Tuesday. The goal was a worthy project that “gave me the respect of being an actor.”

Chopra said she is glad to bring further diversity to ABC, which includes characters of various ethnicities in “Fresh Off the Boat,” ”black-ish” and other series.

Since coming to America as a student, “I never saw anybody who looked like me on TV, and this was an opportunity for me to change that.”

She plays Alex Parrish, an Indian-American whose fledgling FBI career and freedom are in jeopardy after a New York terrorist attack. It’s a juicy role in a “smart show’ that any actress would covet, she said.

Parrish is “Jason Bourne in female form,” Chopra said.

Despite her new job, she has no intention of abandoning her film career back home.

“I love doing my Indian films, and it’s amazing that I can balance both,” Chopra said, labeling herself an effective multitasker. After this season wraps she’ll jump back into a film.

TV’s 15-hour-plus production days took her by surprise. So did being in the dark about her character and story lines until getting each script, in contrast to knowing how a movie begins and ends.

“They tell me nothing,” she said of the producers. But she heard from a good source, Kevin Spacey, that’s part of the charm of working in TV.

Spacey said during a master class that he never knows what “House of Cards” character Frank Underwood is up to until he reads it on the page.

“It keeps you on your toes,” he told her.
