NEW YORK (TIP): Dr. Inder Jit (I.J.) Singh, a renowned Sikh scholar and educator, passed away on May 12, 2026, in New York at the age of 89.

Born in 1937, Dr. Singh was a pivotal figure in the Sikh diaspora, known for his work in making Sikh teachings relevant to contemporary Western life. He was an Emeritus Professor of anatomical sciences at New York University and authored several influential books on Sikh identity and philosophy.
