In January this year, movie-buffs got a pleasant surprise when filmmaker Dinesh Vijan announced 8 new films in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe along with their release dates. This was great news for fans, most of whom were still under the spell of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s blockbuster hit film Stree 2 (2024). 2025 will begin with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Thama and Shakti Shalini, followed by Bhediya 2, Chamunda, Stree 3, Maha Munjya, Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh. While there have been rumours about the star cast of all films, recent buzz suggests that all the horror comedies will have one star in common— Shraddha.
So far, the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe has released 4 films, out of which Munjya (2024) was the only horror comedy which did not star Shraddha Kapoor. The actor was the leading lady of Stree (2018) as well as Stree 2, and even joined Varun Dhawan for a song in Bhediya (2022). Last year, Varun won hearts with his cameo in Stree 2 when he saved Shraddha in the climax of her film. So fans were obviously expecting Shraddha to reunite with Varun in Bhediya 2, before stepping in the shoes of her beloved character for Stree 3. But a report shared by The Nod, which recently took the actor’s interview, mentioned that Shraddha will be a part of all 8 films in the horror comedy universe.

Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor, who is basking in the success of her recent horror-comedy offering ‘Stree 2′, has spoken up about why she hasn’t yet worked with the superstars of Hindi cinema, the holy trinity of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
During a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, the ‘Aashiqui 2′ actress, said that she hasn’t yet got the opportunity to work with the 3 Khans of Bollywood.
She said, “Many times you are offered a film, but if you feel the character isn’t exciting enough or the role doesn’t challenge the artiste in you then you let go off that role. I’m very clear about the king of work that I choose”.
She further mentioned, “I want to be part of good films, engaging films with good stories, work with good directors, and do good work. If the by-product of all of this is the opportunity to work with good actors or huge stars, I’m happy to say yes to it”.
Meanwhile, Shraddha, who returned to box-office almost after 16 months, has delivered her 2nd consecutive Rs 200 crore film with ‘Stree 2′, the first being ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ in which she starred opposite superstar Ranbir Kapoor which collected Rs 223 crores worldwide.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Stree 2′ has netted Rs 255 crores at the Indian box-office with additional Rs 55 crores in overseas collections taking its worldwide collections to Rs 361.15 crore. ‘Stree 2′, which released on Independence Day, clashed with the multi-starrer ‘Khel Khel Mein’, John Abraham-starrer ‘Vedaa’ and the Telugu movie ‘Double iSmart’, and has managed to leave behind them all. Shraddha Kapoor just confirmed her relationship with Rahul Mody. The actor took to Instagram Stories and posted a selfie with Rahul. The two have been dating for a while now, after they reportedly got close while working on Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
In the new picture, Shraddha and Rahul twinned in white and looked directly into the camera. Shraddha held Rahul’s arm and smiled, whereas Rahul made a goofy expression. In the caption, Shraddha said, “Dil rakh le, Neend toh vaapis de de yaar (Take away my heart, but at least return my sleep) (smiley face and red heart emoticons).”
Shraddha and Rahul made an appearance together when they were spotted by the paparazzi and fans in Jamnagar, where they attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. They were also photographed post a dinner rendezvous in Mumbai last year. Source: HT
