    Long Island Indo American Lions Club celebrates 3rd Annual Gala Dinner

    HICKSVILLE, NY (TIP): Long Island Indo American Lions Club celebrated 3rd Annual Gala Diner on 30th June, 2024 at Pearl Banquet at Hicksville. Program was attended by the dignitaries from Lions Club International District 20K2 Nassau County & Bermuda and also well-known community leaders and Honorees. Lions Club moto is WE SERVE.
    Program started at 6:00 pm with cocktails and appetizer and at 7:15 pm Indu Gajwani Founder President of the club welcomed guest and dignitaries and Ganesh Vandana Dance was performed by Group Macaulay Deewane to remove any obstacles from the Program. Perfromers names were Khushi Oza, Anil Singh, Alisha Shah, Anjali Cherian, Staisa Bose, Mariya Kooran.

    Anju Sharma Vice President of Lions Club Introduce Gala Chair Mr. Kanak Golia and Mr. Kanak Golia gave speech and thank everyone. The presentation was shown for achievements of all the various projects such as collecting eyeglasses, blankets donation to veterans, food to the homeless, school supplies to needy children, Hygienic products to needy and donations given to cancer care association, cataract surgeries done and lot of other humanitarian needs. Under the Presidency of Mr. Shyam Gajwani. Presentation was done by Secretary Sanju Sharma.

    There were 5 honorees from community who always help and support community were Honored. The names of the Honorees are Mr. Anil Shah, Mr. Kanak Golia, Mr. Krishna Maddipatla, Dr. Nirmal Khurana and Dr. Puranchandra Atluri.
    The Prestigious Melvin Jones Award was awarded to Mr. Aron Govil, Mr. Gary Sikka, Mr. Inderpal Chhabra, Mr. Jay Shah, Mr. Kiran Reddy, Mr. Mukesh Ranu, Mr. Nand Panjwani, Mr Narinder Kapoor and Mr. Pradip Parikh.
    Mr. Shyam Gajwani President of the Lions Club gave speech and thank all the Executive committee and Chair committee and people who helped him to make this GALA dinner successful.
    The Program ended with Bollywood Mash up dance by the group Macaulay Deewane and Dance floor was opened and people enjoyed the program. It was elegant and well-organized program. Thanks to all the people who attended the program, supporters and all the Lion Members for making it a great success.

    Spread the Warmth- Blankets Donation

    LONG ISLAND, NY (TIP): The Indo American Lions Club’s motto, “WE SERVE” is best represented through charities like these that involve giving and serving the community. The club has carried out many projects for underprivileged under the leadership of President Shyam Gajwani. During the frigid winter weather, the Club Organized “Spread the Warmth’ Project –and distributed Plush Blankets on Wednesday January 10th 2023 at the Royale Restaurant during the monthly meeting.

    This project was organized by Project Chair Sanju Sharma and co-Chair: Anchit Aery. The President Shyam Gajwani welcomed all the recipients. Secretary & Project Chair-Sanju Sharma invited the Representatives of various organizations to introduce themselves. The blankets were handed over to the Disabled American Veterans, All War Veterans homeless veterans, Social Services department of Nassau County, Homeless shelters, Roosevelt Bible Church distribution center, Martin Luther King Center of Long Island.

    This was a very humbling experience for all the members present. It is really hard to imagine someone surviving the bitter frigid cold weather without a warm wrap or blanket.

    The project chair showed gratitude to the members for their contribution and help to make this project successful. She thanked President Shyam Gajwani, Founder President –Indu Gajwani, Sr. Vice President- Kanak Golia, Vice President Anju Sharma, Treasurer Vijay Shah, Co-chair Anchit Aery, Yogini Oza, BOD-Saurabh Sheth & Nimesh Shah, Shila Shah, Shyam Agarwal for their help in setting up the blankets. She also thanked Vijay Kumar ‘Banjara’ (a nonmember) for his help in loading the blankets..

    In the second phase of this project more blankets will be distributed next week to Pamanock Queens community Center, United Methodist Church, Town of Oyster Bay. Three hundred fifty blankets will be distributed to spread warmth in our community.

    Our Club members find it an extremely humbling experience, while spreading the warmth during this challenging Season.

    Long Island Indo American Lions Club held a Musical Extravaganza, Singing Competition

    FLORAL PARK, NY (TIP): Long Island Indo American Lions Club held a Musical Extravaganza , Singing Competition on Sunday December 3rd, 2023 at Tyson Center located in Floral Park. This event was attended by many members of Lions club as well as non members. The Auditorium was packed with music lovers. Melodious singing by talented competitors took the audience through the different eras of Bollywood songs.
    This event was conceptualized by Shyam Gajwani, President of Long Island Indo American Lions Club and it was put together with the help of Program Coordinator Jignesh Shah. The Program was well managed and organized by the team comprising of Anju Sharma, Sanju Sharma, Sital Shah and Indu Gajwani.
    The three prominent personalities, Mrs. Purnima Desai, Manik Malhotra and Sai Sagar Patnaik with great musical knowledge were appointed as judges to select the winners.

    Shreya Sanghavani was declared the winner. 2nd Prize went to Danzel Tarkan, 3rd prize to Divyesh Tripathi, 4th Prize to Sukhpreet Kohli, and 5th Prize to Ajit Shah. All the participants were awarded participation certificates and a gift.

    Indu Gajwani said the organizers were thankful to sponsors Mr. Kanak Golia, Mr. Navin Shah & Madhu Pareek of NAVIKA, Mr. Anil Shah, Mr. Kelly and Mansi Lalwani, and Atul Pareek for their support for the event.
    The organizers were grateful to team and volunteers Yogini Oza, Dr. Gobind Oza, Nimesh Shah, Shyam & Madhu Agarwal, Pradeep Gosalia, Shila Shah and Lata Atmarani.
