
Award ceremony to recognize Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to thriving communities and economy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (TIP): Maryland Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman will host an awards ceremony May 28, 2025, recognizing Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) business owners and community leaders for their contributions to Maryland and their community. Marylanders can nominate individuals and business through May 4, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
The inaugural AAPI Heritage Awards, Honoring Legacy, Inspiring Tomorrow, ceremony will be held on May 28, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the Louis L. Goldstein Treasury Building in Annapolis during AAPI Heritage Month. The event’s goal is to recognize AAPI community members and business leaders who have demonstrated a positive influence on their communities for sustained change, engaged in community service and mentorship, shown themselves to be good stewards toward the community, and inspired others to work together to reach shared goals.
Marylanders are invited to nominate Maryland businesses and individuals who provide impactful service to the AAPI community, demonstrating change and positive influence within the community for which they serve.
The inaugural AAPI Heritage Awards will include the Community Champion Awards for Maryland business leaders who have made a sizeable impact on the AAPI community and worked with diverse organizations and stakeholders for stewardship and community service. The Public Service Award will recognize organizations or individuals that have created or advocated for sustainable advancement in the AAPI community.
