
BUCHAREST (TIP): The 4th Asia Cultural Festival was held at the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, Bucharest, bringing together participating Asian countries on a common platform to celebrate and showcase the rich cultural diversity, traditions, cuisine and heritage of Asia. The festival was coordinated by the Embassy of Indonesia, which took the lead in organising the event.

The festival brought together Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkmenistan and Viet Nam, providing a vibrant platform for cultural exchange and interaction among the participating countries.
The Embassy of India, Bucharest actively participated in the festival and presented India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage to the Romanian public. The Indian pavilion featured One District One Product (ODOP) items, highlighting India’s traditional craftsmanship, distinctive products and diverse cultural traditions. The display provided visitors with an opportunity to learn about India’s rich artisanal heritage and the diversity of its traditional products.

Indian culinary traditions also formed an important part of India’s participation. In keeping with the festival’s focus on showcasing the cuisines of participating countries, the Embassy presented Indian cuisine to visitors, offering an opportunity for the Romanian public and other participants to experience the diversity and richness of Indian culinary traditions.

The festival featured cultural performances, traditional products, cuisine, handicrafts and other cultural displays by the participating Embassies. It attracted enthusiastic participation from members of the diplomatic community, Romanian visitors, Friends of Asia and members of the respective diaspora communities.

The event served as an effective platform for cultural diplomacy and people-to-people engagement, providing opportunities for greater interaction between the participating Asian countries and Romanian society. It also contributed to promoting greater awareness and appreciation of the rich cultural diversity of Asia.

India’s participation in the 4th Asia Cultural Festival reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to promoting Indian culture, traditional products, cuisine and cultural heritage in Romania, while strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and people-to-people ties between India and Romania.
