Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who is known for films like ‘Gangster’, ‘Zeher’, ‘Awarapan’ and ‘Shanghai’, has joined the cast of director Sujeeth’s gangster drama ‘OG’. The film also stars power star Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Mohan in the lead. Emraan joined the cast as the film’s third schedule currently progresses in Hyderabad. He will make his foray into Telugu cinema with the movie and will be seen essaying the role of Pawan Kalyan’s nemesis in the film.
Talking about making debut in the Telugu film industry, Emraan shared: “I am excited to embark on this new journey with ‘OG’. The movie has a strong and gripping script and it offers me a challenging role that I am looking forward to working with Pawan Kalyan Sir, Sujeeth, Danayya Sir and the team. I am confident that we will create a memorable cinematic experience for the audience.”

Om Shanti Om actor Nitesh Pandey dies of suspected heart attack in a hotel
Actor Nitesh Pandey, who is known for his role in Om Shanti Om, died in Nashik. As per reports, he died of a heart attack at the age of 50 on Wednesday, May 24. Taking to Twitter, actor Gulshan Devaiah shared a picture of Nitesh and paid tribute. He wrote, “Nitesh Pandey: 17 January 1973- 23 May 2023 Goodbye sir (folded hands emoji).”
As per news agency ANI, Nitesh was found dead at a hotel in Igatpuri, Nashik in Maharashtra. Prima facie, the cause of death seems to be a heart attack. A police team is currently present at the hotel and an investigation is underway. The report of his postmortem is awaited. The couple had met in March 2020 on the sets of crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass, and then started dating. In May 2020, Megan starred in MGK’s music video “Bloody Valentine” and in 2022, they got engaged. In August 2022, trouble started in their relationship and it has been a rollercoaster since then.
According to a source quoted by People, the couple are back together after recent problems in their relationship which also involved them taking a break in March this year.

The 10th installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise was off to the races this weekend, knocking “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” out of first place and easily claiming the No. 1 spot at the box office. “Fast X” earned $67.5 million in ticket sales from 4,046 North American theaters, according to estimates from Universal Pictures on Sunday.
It’s on the lower end of openings for the series which peaked with “Furious 7’s” $142.2 million launch, the sole movie in the series to surpass $100 million out of the gates. “Fast X’s” domestic debut only ranks above the first three. The last movie, “F9,” opened to $70 million in 2021. But this is also a series that has usually made the bulk of its money internationally, often over 70%. True to form, overseas it’s on turbo drive. “Fast X” opened in 84 markets internationally, playing in over 24,000 theaters, where it earned an estimated $251.4 million. The top market was China with $78.3 million, followed by Mexico with $16.7 million. -
Johnny Depp cries as comeback film receives standing ovation after premiere at Cannes
On Tuesday, May 16, the 76th Cannes Film Festival officially began with Maiwenn’s Jeanne du Barry, and it appears that Johnny Depp got the audience reaction he had hoped for. The actor received a 7-minute standing ovation, and even teared up as the crowd applauded him. A video of the moment is doing the rounds of social media. Cannes Film Festival 2023 opened with the premiere of Johnny Depp’s film, Jeanne du Barry, directed by Maiwenn, where the actor plays French king Louis XV. The period drama marks Johnny’s first film after his high-profile trial last year with his ex-wife Amber Heard. Both parties had accused each other of physical and verbal abuse. Jeanne du Barry is being dubbed as Johnny’s ‘comeback’ film.
Reacting to the video of Johnny tearing up at the film’s Cannes premiere, which was shared on Twitter by Variety, a fan tweeted, “Well deserved! Bravo!” One more said, “Omg (Oh my God) I love every single moment of this day for him. Bravo, Johnny Depp!!” A Twitter user said, “So proud of him.” A fan also tweeted, “Congratulations, Johnny! This is validation and vindication at its finest!”
However, some Twitter users were not happy to see Johnny being hailed at the prestigious festival. One tweeted, “So gross that you’re featuring him.” Some were not willing to forget the abuse allegations levelled against Johnny by his ex-wife, actor Amber Heard. A Twitter user wrote, “I can smell the day-old whiskey and stale cigarettes from here.” One more said, “It was a 3-minute (standing ovation) and he’s teary-eyed because he’s drunk and on dope.”
Earlier, in an interview with Variety, Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux had addressed the potential backlash to having Jeanne du Barry opening the festival. He had said, “I don’t see Maiwenn’s film as a controversial choice at all, because if Johnny Depp had been banned from working it would have been different, but that’s not the case… We only know one thing, it’s the justice system and I think he won the legal case in court. But the movie isn’t about Johnny Depp.”
