Blake Lively settles Justin Baldoni lawsuit pre-trial, attends Met Gala soon after

Actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled their legal dispute linked to the making of It Ends With Us, just weeks before the case was set to go to trial, where both were expected to testify.
Soon after the settlement, Lively made a striking appearance at the Met Gala, stepping onto the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in an archival Versace gown, marking a high-profile public outing following the resolution of the case.
The dispute began in 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni of harassment, sexual misconduct and orchestrating a smear campaign during the film’s production. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a countersuit, turning the matter into a high-profile legal battle that brought private text messages and emails involving both actors and others in the industry into public view.
In a joint statement quoted by Variety, lawyers for both sides confirmed the settlement and said the film remained “a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life”.
“The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind. We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognise that the concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” the statement said.
The settlement came about a month after lawyer Lewis Liman dismissed 10 of Lively’s 13 civil claims, including all allegations of harassment. Three counts remained for a jury to decide: retaliation, aiding and abetting retaliation, and breach of contract.
