NEW YORK CITY (TIP): The Consul General of India in New York Riva Ganguly Das and FIA officials performed the traditional ceremony of lighting the lamp to kick off the 36th India Day Parade organized by Federation of Indian Associations. At the Indian Consulate, July 8, 2016.

The parade is scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 21, starting 12.00 p.m. onwards from 39th Street on Madison Avenue. It was disclosed by a spokesman of FIA that the India Day Parade this year will offer and highlight a jamboree of 30+ pageantry floats; 50 booths/kiosks; each designed uniquely based on the sponsor’s respective theme.

The program includes parade starting at 1200 p.m. from 39th Street and Madison to 29th Street and Madison where it terminates at 3.00 p.m. A Cultural Festival and Fun Fair are other attractions. These will be held from 25th to 26th Streets between Madison and Park from 12.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
