GLEN COVE, NY (TIP): Long Island Indo-American Lions Club hosted its Installation Ceremony on Sunday, July 30th 2023 at Metropolitan, Glen Cove, NY. The Club has accomplished numerous charitable projects and activities throughout the past years, under the leadership of Founder President Indu Gajwani& Immediate Past President Dr. Sunil Mehra. Itwas the time to handover the responsibilities of the club and leadership to a New PRESIDENT.Esteemed guests, community leaders and members of the club graced the evening with their presence. Among the Guests present were District Governor Mark Bothello, Past District Governors- Paula Umreiko, Andy Umreiko, immediate Past Governor Rupal Sehgal andSecond Vice DG-Maria Leitao.
The Emcee Anju Sharma welcomed all and highlighted the incredible achievements of the club. This is the first club founded with 34 charter members. In a shortspan of 4 years LIIA Lions club is Number one with maximum membership, and also leads in Melvin Jones Award recipients.
The Program Began with Pledge of Allegiance by Anchit Aery, Lions Prayer by Dr. Abhay Malhotra, Toast by Saurabh Sheth and Toast to the King by Poojaa Makhijani. The Founder President Indu Gajwani was invited to introduce the dignitaries. The New Members were installed by DG-Mark Bothello, PDG Paula Umreiko installed the Executive Committee and immediate PDG Rupal Sehgal installed Ad Hoc committee.
Anju Sharma introduced President Shyam Gajwani and highlighted his contribution to the club as creator & backbone of the Club. She expressed gratitude for his services to the Club. New President for 2023-2024 was invited to address the guests. He thanked everyone for their continuous support and trust. He requested everyone to keep supporting and help to bring the Club to new heights.

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks by General Secretary Sanju Sharma. She extended a special note of thanks to the sponsors & supporters. The President was invited to open the Dance Floor. The guests were invited to the dance floor and everyone had a blast. The Installation was a fun filled evening.
