EAST MEADOW, NY (TIP): “Today, we gather to remember the brave men and women in uniform who served our nation in the United States Armed Forces,” said County Executive Mangano, as he presented a floral wreath to honor veterans at 2015 United Veterans Organization’s Memorial Day Ceremonies at Veterans Plaza in Eisenhower Park.

“We must never forget what the true meaning of Memorial Day is; to reflect on all that our veterans have done for us, mourn those who we have lost and thank those who are still protecting us each and every day. It is a measure of our continued greatness that, amid the comforts of modern American life, so many of our young men and women continue to affirm the devotion to our nation in this, most noble, of ways. I am truly humbled to be in the presence today of so many great men and women. I thank you for your service to your country and for ensuring that our great nation remains free.”
