Panama leak: Nawaz Sharif tells court he has no offshore co

ISLAMABAD (TIP): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif submitted a written statement to the Supreme Court during a hearing of the Panama Papers case petitions on Nov 3 in which he denied holding any offshore companies.

The Supreme Court resumed hearing the petitions two days after it ordered Sharif, his sons, daughter and son-in-law, besides finance minister Ishaq Dar to submit their responses in writing on Thursday.

Sharif said he had paid all his taxes and declared all his assets in 2013 and that none of his children was dependent on him. The court decided that a single-member commission invested with the powers of the apex court would be formed to probe revelations made in the Panama Papers. Afinal decision on it will be made on Monday after the court reviews the replies submitted by the premier’s children.(PTI)
