Indian Consulate announces Liberalization of e-Visa

NEW YORK(TIP): The Indian Consulate in New York has announced October 1 liberalization of e-visa. The press release says that in order to promote and accelerate foreign tourist arrival in India, Government of India has taken following decision with regard to e-Visas:

A short duration e-visa for tourists with one-month validity and visa fee of US$ 25 has been introduced.

The Visa fee of US$ 25 would be reduced to US$ 10 during the months of April-June.

Validity of regular e-visa, with a fee of US$ 80, would be increased from 1 year to 5 years with multiple entry.

The revised  e-Visa fees (in US$) for the US citizens would be as under:

30 days e-TV during April-June          10

30 days e-TV during July-March        25

1 year e-TV                                            40

5 year e-TV                                            80

Advisory:Services of e-Visa involves completing online application for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary / agents etc. It is advised not to believe or fall in trap of any such unscrupulous elements who claim speedy/express grant of e-Visa and charge money for it. Do not share your personal information with any unauthorized website as it may lead to your personal data piracy.
